The Tour Life Of Adriana Perry

What's So Good About Picking Up The Pieces?

~ 3 months later ~

The plane touched down, back in America. I felt myself smile, my hand resting on my small bump that was beginning to grow. I was finally back on home turf. Only a few more dates to go then I could go back to normal. Normality sounded good right now. Grabbing my hand luggage, I picked up Bianca and got off the plane. She fell asleep in my arms. I cradled her gently as we waited for the luggage.

“Hotel stays for the rest of the tour.” I heard Vic call, earning cheers from everyone. A real bed, a real bath, real everything. Oh that sounded like heaven. You could say I should be going home, but just because I can't play doesn't mean I can't still tour. Not the mention no-one would let me out their sight. Everyone has taken the news really well, but the fans didn't know as yet.

Collecting all our cases, we headed out the airport. There were a few fans but not many so we stopped and talked with them, signed things and took pictures. I froze when a fan asked me something. “Why aren't you playing anymore?” That's when I made the decision.

“Keep an eye out on twitter, you'll find out soon enough.” I smiled at her. After the small meeting, we all got on our and headed to the first hotel. The thought of being able to relax properly made me feel relaxed right now. I was the first out the bus when we reached the hotel, I was way too excited to be able to be in a proper bed. Bianca stayed by my side the entire time.

“Ben, Ads, Bianca. Room 423.” the tour manager called.

“What? That's a joke right?” I questioned.

“You're not swapping either. No-one is swapping rooms.” I rolled my eyes, pulling two cases along with me and waiting for the elevator. Bianca was just in front in me, being her usual bouncy self. As soon as it arrived, I got in. Pressing the floor number the doors shut and up we went. I didn't bother waiting for anyone else. I found the room, before realising I didn't have the key card. I was hoping it would have a double bed and a single bed.

“Locked out? Well you shouldn't of run off.” Ben laughed at me. I stuck my tongue out and followed him into the room. One bed. Great. “I'll sleep on the floor.”

“Good idea.” I left the cases by the en suite and flopped onto the bed. Bianca was exploring the room, touching everything she could get her hands on. I let out a long sigh and felt myself sink into the bed. Oh how I've missed this. Two night here, two nights of proper sleep and boy that would that be good.

***

A few hours later, there was a knock on the door. Ben went and answered while I stayed on the bed reading Bianca a story. Frances bounced in, her usual cheery self. I had noticed she had been more cheery lately, so had Ben. Strange right? “I've got some good news for you.” she sang. I raised an eyebrow at her. What could she possibly know that I don't? She motioned towards the balcony. I told Bianca to stay on the bed and I followed Frances out. She handed me a smoke, lighting up her own and passing the lighter to me.

“You--” She stopped talking, looking behind me. I turned to see James giving her the 'do not tell her look' before it quickly changed to a smile. Something was going on. Was he seeing Fran? No he couldn't. He wouldn't. Damn paranoid thoughts were slipping in now.

“We're all going out, be ready for 8" With that he left. Little blunt there. I put my cigarette out and headed inside. It was now 6pm. I told Ben to watch Bianca and I headed into the bathroom. The shower was powerful, a gift by god would be the right words to use right now. Stripping down I climbed it, the water soothing. Oh how good this felt.

Once I had finished I got out, wrapping the towel round me, brushing my hair I headed out to pick an outfit. I spotted it, on the bed. I didn't pick it out. I didn't even own a dress like that. Black, skin tight with slits down the side. Ben flashed me a smile, before turning back to Bianca. I sat down at the small dresser, pulling all my make-up out. “Can you pass me my curlers?”

“Sure, case 1, 2 or 3?”

“2. The pink ones.” I smiled, I dried my hair while the curlers heated up. My hair always curled easily so this never took long. Once it was done, it bounced on my shoulders. DIfferent to it being past my boobs when straight. I started on my make-up, I wanted the simple, classy but sexy look. It didn't take long to do this either. I glanced at the clock. 7pm, record time so far. I was a little curious as to why Ben hadn't started getting ready, but he would probably go out like he is. I grabbed my clothes and went back into the bathroom.

“You look stunning!” grinned Ben.

“You look pretty mommy.” giggled Bianca. I couldn't help smile. “Turn around, I want to put this pretty necklace on you.” I did as she told and knealt down so she could reach me. Something was placed over my eyes, then over my ears. “Guys? This isn't funny.”

She patted my head and I felt someone help me up which I would assume would be Ben. I was feeling paranoid, I didn't seem to stop walking for a while. When I did, I realised we were in a car. Hang on, we didn't have a car on the tour. Just buses and mini vans. “Ben this isn't funny, take me back!”

I heard the person laugh. “James will flip out. Just take us back.” They didn't say anything. I felt a hand on my lap, gently stroking it in a way to calm me down. “Can you not do that please?” They continued. I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms on my lap I decided not to even bother speaking.

The car stopped, a door opened then shut. Then mine opened. I felt someone help me out, before shutting the door and leading me somewhere. Now I was being sat down. The presence of someone left me, then not long after I felt another presence. The thing around my eyes was taken. “Surprise.”

I looked around, we were in some fancy place, we were on our own. “What's this all in aid of?” I mentally slapped myself, way to sound ungrateful.

“We never had our first date.” James smiled at me as he sat himself down. My smile grew wider. The night went smoothly. We talked, laughed and cried about things. That was until the topic of Kellin came up. “He still loves you.”

I rolled my eyes, taking a mouthful of the water in front of me. “No he doesn't.”

“He does, he'll try to get you back.” I sighed, placing my glass down and taking hold of his hand with both of mine.

“I'm with you, I'm staying with you. You have to take any silly thoughts from your head and believe me because remember I'm carrying your child.” I was looking directly at him, never breaking eye contact. He nodded, but I knew this wouldn't be the end of it. We finished up and left. Instead of taking the car back, we walked. The night life of America was certainly different to other countries. It was busy, a lot of drunks about.

An hour later, we reached the hotel. I really didn't want to go back to my room. Taking the elevator, we reached our floor. When we stepped out, you could hear arguing coming from my room. I handed my clutch to James and went to my room quickly. Throwing it open, both Ben and Fran stopped, looking at me.

“Where's Bianca?” I asked, annoyance clear in my tone.

“With Danny, I took her there before this kicked off.” Fran spoke calmly. I told James to go to Bianca while I stayed here. I shut the door and stood there, looking between them both.

“Well someone say something.” I snapped. I noticed Ben swaying a little on the spot. I go out for a few hours and he gets drunk. “How about we start with you Bruce seeing as you're drunk.”

“He went out, came back with tart an--”

“You brought another girl back with my daughter in the room?” I half shouted. He stood there looking at me, as if trying to process what I had just said to him. “Continue Fran...”

“...and I flipped out. Sent Bianca to Danny, the fact is Ads he's a fucking cheat.” she spat towards Ben. My eyes widened. I told them to wait and I headed down to the room Sam and Cam were in. Knocking three times, the door swung open. “Can one of you stay with Ben and Fran in my room?”

“I'll do it!” I heard Cam call. I said my thanks and went next door, walking in I saw Bianca asleep on the bed. I told Danny to go in with Sam. He did, once he left I sighed heavily sitting out on the balcony. Grabbing a smoke, I lit it up, inhaling and tilting my head back, eyes closed. Not long to go, keep going. James took the cigarette from between my lips, throwing it over the balcony. My eyes snapped open, he was now sat across from me.

“He cheated on her.” I broke the silence. “Hey, remember the game we played back a few months ago. You said you'd cheated. Who was it?”

“Nobody.” He looked away quickly.

“It wasn't me was it?” I sighed.

His head shot up. “God no. It was a girl back in high school.” I felt myself relax. He got up, kissed the top of my head and went to bed. I pulled out another smoke, just as I lit it I heard his voice. “Put it out.” I rolled my eyes and ignored him. Come on, one cigarette wouldn't hurt. I don't know how long I was out there for, I glanced over to my left. Danny was out on his balcony. Luckily they were quite close together so we didn't have to shout.

“What's on your mind?” he spoke first.

“I want to go home.”

“We will be soon.” he laughed.

“Home with James, not you.” I smiled.

“Where do you think he lives?” My eyes widened. “Me, Ben and James live together.” Great, just great. Here's me thinking I'd have my own house with him. We both looked to the balcony next to Danny's when we heard a smash. Fran came out, slamming the balcony door. She didn't notice us as she cursed out loud, calling Ben every name under the sun. Both me and Danny started laughing which made her jump.

“Tough night?” Danny laughed. She nodded, not sure whether to say anything to him considering they were best friends. Danny left and I called over to her. “Meet me in the corridor in 2.”

I got up, putting my things inside and wandered out the room quietly. As soon as I saw her I pulled her into a big hug. I felt her begin to cry. We just stood there as I held my best friend, nothing was said. To be honest I didn't know what to say to her. I looked up as I heard a door slam. Ben was now out the room, I told Fran to go in mine and that I'd talk to him. She agreed and off she went.

“Walk with me, now.” I said in a stern voice. He was very much sober by now which I was thankful for because I didn't want to deal with a drunk Ben Bruce. “I'm saying this as a friend, give her some space. You've broken her and she needs time. Just be thankful her dad doesn't know. You're lucky I'm not beating your ass.”

“It was a mistake.” was all he said.

“Are you even listening to me? Give her space, make it up to her in a few days when she's calmed down.” I heard him let out a sigh. “Second thing....” I stopped when I realised we were away from the rooms. I slapped him around the head and began talking again. “Don't you ever put my daughter at risk again, do you hear me? I can't believe you'd be that stupid! That little girl is my life.”

“I left her with Fran.” he stated.

“I left her with you. What kind of an image are you giving her? For god sake's Ben, she adores you and you're ruining it.” I shouted. “Put my daughter at risk again or hurt Fran again and I'll personally tear you apart.” I turned on my heels and went back to my room before he had chance to say anything back to me. When I got back, Fran was sat on my balcony laughing. I wandered out to see her talking with Sam. We soon said our goodnights and went to bed. I climbed in with Bianca and allowed Fran to sleep in the same bed as James.

***

I woke up to Bianca prodding my face. My eyes opened and I smiled at her. She pointed over to the other bed. I started laughing quietly as I saw James practically wrapped around my best friend who was already awake and trying to get up without disturbing him. I flipped the covers off me and got up. “James? Honey, wake up.” I whispered. I shook him a little and got back into bed and pretended to be asleep.

“Shit, oh god. This isn't good.” I heard him, followed by a thud. I turned over, laughing at him.

“Morning you.” I smiled. He looked at me with confusion as I began to laugh again. “Fran stopped the night, don't worry your pretty head.” I got up and got myself ready before getting Bianca ready. We went down to the breakfast room, Vic, Mike and Jaime were there. Bianca detached herself from me and ran over to them. I followed, sitting down with them.

“Who were arguing with last night?” Vic questioned.

“Ben. He was a bit of an idiot. All sorted now.” I smiled at him. Bianca was on his lap, hugging him as he spoke to me. I stayed with my family, I watched as the AA lads sat at a table not far from us. I got up, going to get myself and Bianca some food. I noticed as soon as I got up James did. “Mommy, I want that one!” I passed her the box of cereal she wanted and off she went back to the table.

“I'd of thought you'd be still be with your band mates.” I said. We both looked over to see them acting like children. “Or you could sit with my lot?” He nodded and laughed a little. We got what we wanted and sat back down at my table. James said morning to my uncles. We sat there laughing and eating as my uncles decided to bring up embarrassing childhood stories.

“...She literally pulled her pants down and ran around the street in her panties. Man you should of seen Tony's face. Dylan soon joined in, it was all fun and games until she fell. Broke her nose.” Uncle Mike laughed.

“How old was she?” I stamped on James' foot, a warning to tell him to shut up.

“4 years old.” Jaime spoke with his mouth full.

“13 years old. Shall we talk about that?” Vic joined in. I felt myself cringe even more. God someone make them shut up. I looked over to the other table, I spotted Bianca now over there. Wow she moves quick. I continued looking round, Of Mice we're over by the window. Bring Me weren't up.

“....She fainted. Like full on fainted.” I was brought back to reality. I looked down at my food, pushing the plate away. I stood up and walked off to the bathroom. I could feel everyone watching me. I locked myself inside one of the cubicles. I felt my stomach turn, I lifted the toilet seat up and emptied my stomach.

After I was done, I straightened myself up, rinsed my mouth out and went back. When I situated myself back at the table, I got 20 questions. I swear some of them forget I'm pregnant. We all finished up breakfast, heading back to our rooms. I packed up the cases, ready for when we leave in the morning while James sorted stuff we needed for the venue. He picked up Bianca and the two bags and we left.

“Daddy James? Can I have a piggy ride?” He looked at me, raising an eyebrow. I gave him a smile and helped Bianca onto his shoulders. We waited in the lobby for the others to arrive. They soon did and off we went. I hung back a bit so I could talk with my uncles.

“I need a massive favour, I hate having to ask....” Jaime cut me off.

“How much do you need?”

“Enough for a deposit for somewhere. I've been looking, there's a nice house down the road from where he lives now.”

“We'll sort it out when we get to the venue.” Jaime smiled. I hated the fact I had to ask them for money. The rest of the walk was pretty quiet, the odd fan stopping us for photo's. Once we reached the venue, I tried to get Bianca to come with me. “I'm want to stay with Daddy James.” she whined.

“They have thi---”

“I'm staying here!” she shouted, stamping a foot on the ground.

“You will come with me young lady, we can see them later.” I didn't raise my voice. I hated having to be firm with her but right now she needed it.

“No.” she went and stood by his side.

“Here now.” She shook her head. I sighed, giving in. “You behave yourself, do you understand?” She nodded. With that they went off somewhere. Well least I'd have some peace and quiet for a little while. I went and sat myself in the seats where the stage were. Pulling out my phone, I opened up twitter. I hadn't even discussed telling the fans about the baby with James. But did they really need to know? I mean it wasn't their lives were it?

“Fuck it.” I muttered.

@adrianaperry: I'm pleased to announce that myself and James are expecting our first child together! :)

I hit send. Within seconds I had tweets flying in. Nearly all of them were happy messages, a few hate ones. I smiled to myself as I replied to a few of them. I closed the app after about an hour and put my phone on the seat next to me. I noticed the AA lads were now on the stage. I saw Bianca sat on James' lap at the drum kit. They all spotted me, giving me a wave. I was joined by Fran who was back to her usual self.

“We made up.” she beamed at me.

“Good, but hey bitch you never even told me about you two.” I slapped her arm playfully. She shrugged and we turned our attention to the stage. Ben, Sam and Cam were playing. I must of fallen asleep, I was awoken by Fran. “Time to go.” I stretched a little before getting up and heading out. We both wandered through the venue. We turned one corner, I stopped dead in my tracks.

The tears started to prick my eyes. God dammit do not cry. “You just can't help yourself can you?” I spat, the girl and James both turned to face me. I ran out the building, tears threatening to spill. Danny grabbed my arm, making me stop. I looked to see my baby stood beside him. “Come on honey, we're going back.” I sniffed. Danny kept looking at me. I picked her up and started walking off.

“Hey sweet-- what's wrong?” Vic. Great, just great.

“Hormones.” I lied. He nodded. “I'll be at the hotel.” He gave me a hug and I continued my walk. I got back quicker than I expected. I got all my things together, all of Bianca's things together. She grabbed her own case, I got my own. Locking the door up, we both left. She was being so good and I was thankful of that right now. I think she knew something was wrong. “I'd like to check out please.”

Once I had checked out, I hailed a cab. The driver helped me with the cases and in we got. My little girl stared out the window. I could feel my phone vibrating. It stopped just as I pulled it out. I turned it off. I told the driver the address, my lip quivered as the journey seemed to take forever.

***

“Bianca, tea's ready!!” I called from the kitchen. Her little feet came running through. She sat up at the table, eating her food like a good girl. I sat across from her, I didn't feel like eating but I had to. I could hear my phone vibrating, once again I had ignored it. After tea, I got washed up and Bianca ready for bed before settling on the sofa with her.

So much for the happy life eh?
