“You look… wow” Was all Mike could say as his girlfriend exited her bedroom and walked over to him in the kitchen. They were about to leave for their dinner date as it was her birthday.

“You don’t look so bad yourself handsome” She smiled and kissed him on the lips before the pair exited the apartment.

When they reached the restaurant they were greeted by a sweet girl who showed them to their table. The meal was perfect. Mike had taken Erica to her favourite place in SD. They spent the whole evening talking about everything and nothing all in one. The food was delicious and they shared a desert. They were too cute.

Soon dinner came to an end and Mike paid the bill before escorting Erica back to the car. They were on their way to Mike’s house and Erica knew it “Why are we going to yours?” She asked.

When she went back indoors she saw that Romeo had no one on his table so she went over to him.

“One palm daisy coming up” Romeo said as he drew free hand on the palm of the birthday girl.

“Guess who?” Asked a voice she knew all too well.

“Trent, omg brother what are you doing here?”

Arielle and Jonathon were about to leave but they wanted to give Erica her present before they did so Mike went upstairs and bought down the bag which held her gifts.

Mike soon returned with a small bag and passed it over to Erica. She pulled out a CD case but was told she just watch that another time since there’s no point in stopping the party for it. She then pulled out a small box. When she opened it, there was a delicate Peter Pan bracelet sat inside. It was beautiful. “Ohmygod, guys this is beautiful. Thank you so much” She hugged them both before putting it back in the box. “I won’t put it on just yet though, I don’t want to get drunk and break or lose it.” She knew she would treasure this forever.

“It was mine when I was your age. Jonathan got it for me many years ago but I wanted you to have it. I thought it was the perfect birthday present” Said Arielle.

“It is perfect. Thank you, I will treasure it forever” She couldn’t believe how beautiful it was.
The elderly couple soon departed after saying goodbye to everyone. The party went on until about 3 in the morning. Most people were passed out somewhere in the house and Erica and Mike decided they would leave the remaining few, still awake, people to it and headed for bed.

When they got up to Mike’s room, Erica was greeted by a large gift on the bed. She had no clue what it was.

“This is your final present” Mike said as he guided her to the bed. “Michael, you didn’t have to. You’ve done enough for me already” She said even though she really wanted to see what the present was.

“I know but this I think will be better than anything you’ve been given so far” He had the smile of a little kid in a candy store spread across his face. With that Erica ripped of the paper to reveal a large photo frame. Tears began to brim in her eyes when she noticed what Mike had done for her.

“Mike, it’s beautiful. Thank you so much” She placed the frame back on the bed and gave him the tightest hug she could muster before they both sat on the bed and looked over gift. Mike had framed every picture that Erica’s baby brother had drawn for her. He knew how much these drawings meant to her, she even had one of them tattooed on her stomach. He had put a photo of Erica and Caleb drawing in the middle and arranged the little drawings around it.

“I know how much these mean to you and I know you haven’t got round to putting them up yet so I thought I would take them from the shoebox they were in and put them together like this” He whispered. “This is the most amazing thing anyone has ever done for me” She smiled and got up to prop the frame against one of the bedroom walls. She then stripped out of her dress and heels before throwing on one of Mike’s t-shirts and jumping in to bed with him.
