Queen For a Day
Chapter 20
Vic's POV
Iris just left me there sitting by myself saying she can't come back with me. She was crying and hyperventilating, she ran to the bathroom.
I went to eat breakfast while I left her to cool down. I made pancakes, eggs for me, toast, bacon and oatmeal. I did not want to be hungry while driving. But the food is cold now, and Iris is still in the bathroom.
I go to check the bathroom to see if Iris is still in there, my heart drops as I open the door.
She was not there. I needed to find her, just to check that is is alright.
I knock on her bedroom door.
"Iris?" I say through the door.
"I am coming in." I slowly open the door. She is sleeping on the edge of the bed, I slowly walk over to her still body. I see her sleeping peacefully, I kiss her lightly on the forehead. I grab her duffle bags and bring them to the door, I place them on the floor out of the way. It was already 10, the van was going to get dropped off at 12 and we had to be at the house at 1:30 to pick up the guys.
I saw Iris come down the stairs. I walk to to the table to see Iris, placing pancakes, bacon and oatmeal on her plate.
"Is it alright if sit down?" I ask leaning on the side of the table.
"Yeah, I am sorry." She says stuffing a part of toast in her mouth.
I take a seat beside her, I take her hand and say, "Iris, don't worry, I am sorry for making you feel uncomfortable like that." I stare into her blue eyes.
"It's alright, I was just haunted by some old memories. And it was not your fault, it was mine. I will come back to San Diego with you."
She finishes her plate of food, leaving a small amount of pancake left, she pushes it around her plate. Her head rested on her hand. I tried to fill the silence with singing,
"I changed your mind and ended up here. Through stained glass eyes and colorful tears. Maybe I'll pretend right now, but I swear to god, I'm gunna change the world." I sing to myself.
"Did you know that is my favourite song?" She asks me with a large grin on her face.
