Going Away To College

Oh, Jesus

TONY'S POV

The week flew by and before we knew it, the day of the tour had came. Lifting our suitcases, I carried them on to the bus whilst Rachel talked to Vic. I rested the luggage against my legs - glancing at the beds, I decided to put Rae below me. I lifted my bag on to the bunk above before shoving hers in the one below.

'Hey man,' said Mike as he climbed into his bunk. He watched me as I climbed in mine, keeping the curtain open as I unzipped my case.

'Hey,' I replied, taking the ring out of a pair of jeans and sliding it into one of the compartments in my case.

'What's that?' he asked.

'It's, uh,' should I tell him? I should, he's like a brother to me. Yeah, tell him. 'Come here,' I instructed quietly. He got out of his bunk and leaned his head in mine, looking at me in anticipation. I pulled the ring back out and opened the box, watching as his jaw dropped.

'Dude!' He whispered, 'that's amazing.'

'Thanks,' I grinned, 'now get away.' Swatting at his face, he chuckled as I put in back in the pocket and closed it. Back in his bunk, he looked at me knowingly as Rachel and Vic's voiced got louder.

Entering the tiny hallway whilst rubbing his hands, Vic pulled back the curtain of his bunk and climbed in, letting out a sigh once he'd successfully got in. 'Where am I?' Rae asked, looking around whilst she rubbed her arm.

'Below me,' I smiled, pointing downwards. Closing my bunk curtains, I continued to sort my things as everyone else did so too.

RACHEL'S POV

After the tour manager Kevin treated us to a lovely dinner, we all retreated to our bunks as it was quite late. We set off around 11pm and I was asleep by no later than half 12.

I woke to the sound of muffled voices coming from the front of the bus. Pulling my hair up into a bun, I yanked my shorts back down to where they were suppose to sit before pulling my curtain back. 'Tony?' I called, hearing lots of bumping around above. 'Tony, are you okay?' Seconds later, Tony came flying out his bunk and his tired body collided with the floor.

'He's up!' Shouted Vic, a chorus of laughter following.

'Shut up,' groaned Tony, rubbing his head as he rolled over.

'What the fuck are you doing?' I smiled, crawling out of bed and rubbing his head.

'I have a tendency to roll out of the bunk,' he said, propping himself up on his hands.

'He's an idiot,' shouted Kevin, 'does it all the time!'

'What were you even trying to do?' I asked, standing up and pulling him up with me. I giggled to myself as I realised he was only in boxers and a tank top, what is he up to?

'I was changing,' he nodded, obviously embarrassed. Going on my tiptoes, I kissed the tip of his nose before leaving him to finish getting dressed.

'Hey guys,' I smiled, taking a seat next to Mike.

'Sleep alright?' Asked Vic.

'Yeah,' I replied, and I had. Thankfully, I had no nightmare.

'That's good,' he said. Mike whispered something to Jaime and I tried to read his lips but failed as they moved so fast. Vic looked at me as if he was asking 'what are they walking about?' and, not knowing, I simply shook my head.

Shaking it off, I stole a piece of cereal from Mike's bowl and flung it in my mouth. Tony entered and began to make coffee. All of a sudden, he was swearing under his breathe and rushing around. Turning our heads, we all realised that he had knocked the milk and spilled it all over the floor.

Throwing a towel down, he began to mop up the mess as he mumbled something to himself. Looking concerned, Jaime went over and helped him tidy up. They were talking in hushed tones to one another, and I was desperate to know what about. Is he regretting this already? Does he not like me all of a sudden?

'Hey, Rachel,' said Jaime, patting Tony on the shoulder back as he looked to me.

'What's up?'

'You want some coffee?'

'Sure,' I smiled. Tony could have asked me that. What's up with him?

'Cool, coming right up!' I watched out the corner of my eye as Jaime helped Tony make three coffees. It seemed as though he was nervous - he had a bit of a scatter brain and kept knocking things over. Listening intently, I heard Jaime tell him to calm down. Why wouldn't he be calm aready? Ugh, calm down. He might be nervous about the show, Rachel. Just let it go.

'One coffee for one lovely photographer,' said Jaime as he placed the cup on front of me. Thanking him, I wrapped my hands around the violet coloured cup and began to sip away at it. I watched as Tony sat down opposite me and drank his coffee. Glancing up for a split second, he smiled weakly at me before averting his gaze to the table top.

'I'm just gonna take some pictures of you guys setting up,' I informed everyone. Lifting my camera, I proceeded to snap a few pictures of everyone getting ready.

'Right boys, into the dressing room!' Shouted Kevin.

Not knowing what to do with myself, I went over to the merch table and helped Mark (the merch guy) set up. We shared a little small talk as I arranged shirts out on the table. Slowly, people began to fill the venue. Being told that there was only 5 minutes until the support act The Wonder Years was coming on, I decided to make my way to the stage. Passing the security guard, I slid in between the barrier and the stage. I powered up my camera and took a shot of the crowd as they prepared for the awesome show ahead.

The support act came on and rocked it. With a pumped crowd, they all screamed at the top of their lungs as they watched the stage for Pierce The Veil. 'Hey, smile!' I screamed at a girl and guy who were at the barrier. They lifted their hands and I snapped a shot of their grinning faces. I went to take another but the room suddenly went completely dark.

A fast drum beat began and the crowd rumbled as it filled the room. A bass joined in, soon followed by fast guitar riffs.

'San Antonio,' whispered Vic into the mic, the crowd roared. Bright lights hit the stage and everyone began to jump and scream. 'How are we tonight?' He shouted, earning plenty of noise from the people.

'That's good to hear,' shouted Jaime int his mic.

'This first one is called Disasterology, it goes a bit like this,' shouted Vic, stepping back from the mic and nodding as Mike slammed the drums.

After only two songs, I had loads of photos. Smiling as I raised my camera once again, I hummed along to the song.

'Guys you are freaking awesome,' laughed Vic into his mic. Unexpectedly, Tony approached him and whispered into his ear, causing him to let out an 'oh' into the mic. Vic stepped back and Tony let his guitar hang around his neck as he grasped the microphone in one hand and the stand in the other.

'Hello,' he said softly. As he didn't talk a lot, the crowd went especially wild for him. 'Um, I know I don't talk much,' he began, running his fingers through his hair, 'I just want to say that I love you all.' Everyone screamed with all they had. 'I want you guys to meet my beautiful girlfriend.' What? Is he being serious? 'Rae?'

All eyes on me, I let my camera drape around my neck as I figured out how to get up. The security guard to my left politely said he'd to help me up, an offer that I took immediately. Shuffling up on my knees, I stood up and brushed my jeans before walking over to Tony. I looked at him as he held on to the mic, his knuckles white as his grip was so tight. With the lights hot on my skin, I squinted my eyes and looked out into the crowd as I took my place beside him. Without warning, the silence was filled by the sound of Mike drumming.

'Help him out!' Shouted Jaime into his mic, clapping his hands. What is going on? Oh my goodness, what the fuck is going on?

Watching every member of the crowd clap, I looked to Tony to realise that he was on one knee. He's on one fucking knee, Rachel. Is he- he is. Oh my goodness, he is. Shit, shit, shit. Aw, he looks so cute. Fuck, he is proposing.

'Rachel Elizabeth Jenkins,' he began pulling a small box out of his back pocket and opening it. 'Will you marry me?'

Oh, jesus. Is this real? Is this a really great dream? It's real, I can hear the crowd. God, he looks so handsome. 'Yes! Yes, yes, yes,' I cried, throwing myself into his arms as he stood up. I wrapped my arms around him and buried my head in the crook of his neck. Pulling away, he took my hand and slipped a ring on - it was perfect, I literally couldn't have imagined such a beautiful piece of jewelry.

'Give my boy a cheer San Antonio!' Shouted Jaime, strumming his guitar as he held it up to one side.

The crowd began to chant, and what they were shouting soon became clear. 'Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!'

Smiling at me, I winked at Tony before springing up and letting our lips touch. Taking hold of my sides with his shaky hands, he leaned over me and kissed me with more passion than ever before. Prizing our lips apart, he cleared his throat as he took hold of the microphone.

'Woo!' He screamed, laughing as everyone cheered.
