TONY'S POV

It had been two weeks since the passing of Rae's Dad, she was coping a lot better by then. With the knowledge that I only had one week left in San Diego before we left for tour, I decided it was time to buy the ring.

'Hello?' said Jaime down the phone.

'Hi, are you busy?'

'No, just catching up on Supernatural. What's up?'

'Can you meet me in the mall? Say, half an hour at Starbucks?'

'Uh, okay dude. Everything alright?'

'Yeah,' I replied. 'Okay better go, see you soon!'

Shoving my phone in my pocket, I went through to the living room and told everyone where I was headed. I felt bad for leaving Rachel - until the will went through and she could get access to her house, she really had nothing to do.

'Won't be long,' I lied, rushing out the door. I hopped into my van and turned on the ignition along with the radio. The sound of Being As An Ocean filled the car and I hummed along as I drove on to the motorway. Taking a left, I went down another road leading to the mall. Once there, I found a parking space and pulled up in it. Checking the time on the radio before I turned the car off, I realised I had 10 minutes before Jaime would be there - I decided it would be better for me to be early than late. With that, I hopped out the car and locked it before proceeding to enter the large mall.

Entering through the rotating doors, I wandered over to Starbucks and leaned against the wall as I waited for Jaime to arrive. I began to fill nervous - this is it, Tony. You're gonna buy it today. What if she doesn't like it? Even worse, what if she says no? Oh god, what if she says no?

'Tony?'

Coming out of my thoughts, I looked up to see Jaime waving his hands about. 'Hey,' I smiled.

'You okay? Why are we here?'

'I need to buy something,' I coughed, 'and if it all goes well then I'd like to say that my best man helped me pick it out.'

'Tony!' He shouted, throwing his arms around me. 'Dude, that's great news!'

'She hasn't said yes yet,' I pointed out anxiously, 'calm down.' We began to walk and I could feel Jaime's eyes on me, his smile blinding my left eye. Approaching the first jewelers we both stopped and looked at the ones in the window. 'I asked her Dad for permission,' I told Jaime, watching him as he glanced over all the rings.

'I thought the gentleman in you had gone,' he joked, nudging my side. 'Want to go in?'

I nodded and then followed him into the store. Instantly we were met by an average sized girl, her dirty blonde hair up in the world's tightest bun. 'Engagement rings,' Jaime told her.

'Who is th-'

'Me,' I said, raising one hand. Jaime pushed me forward, laughing a little, and I went with the woman to a seat. She excused herself and Jaime sat down next to me.

'Shit,' I mumbled. 'What if they're all horrible? Is this too soon?'

'Tony,' he sighed. 'With any normal couple, I'd maybe say it was a little. You two however are not a normal couple - you're relationship has been through more than some marriages and you guys are as strong as ever, right?'

'Right,' I agreed.

'Well then. I've also seen the way she looks at you, she's absolutely hooked.'

I laughed a little into my palms, concentrating on my breathing so I wouldn't faint there and then. The woman returned with a black felt box moments later. Placing it down on the table, she unlocked it and then slowly opened it to reveal a collection of beautiful rings.

'Can I pick them up?'

'Of course,' said the woman, sliding the box in my direction.

'Jaime, what about this?' I said, picking the third one I noticed. I carefully prized it out and placed it in my palm, holding it up to him. It had a thin silver band and a tiny circle cut diamond.

'Can you get engravings?'

'Yes, they cost £20 per word.'

'I don't care about the cost,' I said, half to myself and half to her. 'This one.'

'Tony, there are a lot of jewelers in this mall. Are you sure you want this one?'

'Jaime, shut up,' I smiled. 'This one, and I'd like an engraving please.'

'Sure,' said the woman, 'I'll just go and collect the font book.' The woman took to her feet, keeping my chosen ring out, and wandered through to the back.

I turned to Jaime, 'did I just do that? Is this real?' Chuckling, he put one arm around me and squeezed my shoulder.

'It's real, Tony. What are you gonna write?'

'Forever,' I told him. 'It sounds cliche but it's from a son- it's from a thing we said to each other a little while back. It means a lot, I swear.'

'That sounds nice, you're so cheesy.'

'Shut up,' I said, slamming him gently on the stomach.

The woman returned with the font book and I picked a rather fancy one - the letters curved but it was not to the point that you were unable to read it. Once all the details were sorted, I signed the papers and paid. £720. I didn't care though, it wasn't about the money.

Leaving the shop, I couldn't find the physical ability in myself to wipe the grin off my face. We headed to Starbucks and got a coffee before going our separate ways - it was nice to see the boys outside of tour, it was a pretty different environment.

RACHEL'S POV

Mama Perry came through from the kitchen, her left hand clutching the phone as her right covered her mouth. 'Rachel!'

'Yes, mama?' I said, taking to my feet and approaching her.

'That was the lawyers, the house is yours! We just need to pick up the keys from them!'

Throwing myself on to Mrs Perry, I hugged her tight as she laughed merrily. Finally. Once I'd calmed down slightly, I hurried upstairs to pack my things. As much as I loved living with the Perry's, I felt as though I was gaining weight and had been a burden as I'd stayed for so long.

Folding one of my tops, I heard the door slam shut followed by the muffled sound of Tony's voice. I put the top in the suitcase before rising and spinning round to see Tony walking towards the room. He had an unmistakably massive smile across his face, but didn't tell me why.

'I have some news,' I said, taking his hands in mine. 'The house is mine now!' I screamed, jumping on him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist as he held me up. 'I have something to ask you,' I added, scrunching my nose up playfully at him as he carried me over to the bed. Plopping me down, he climbed on top and hovered over me, waiting for my question. 'I was wondering if maybe you'd want to, um, move in with me? It's a big house and I don't want to b-' He cut me off my slamming his lips against mine. This means yes, right?

Pulling away, his grin seemed to have grown (if that was even possible). He sat up and pulled me on to his lap, brushing my hair behind my ear. 'You still want to be a photographer, yeah?'

'Yeah, why?'

'Well,' he glanced downwards, 'you know that tour starts next week. I don't want to leave you here, and I checked with the guys, and they thought it'd be best too.' He looked back up at me nervously. 'Do you want to be our photographer and come out on the road with us?'

'Tony,' I awed, 'I'd love to.'

'Thank god,' he laughed, wrapping his arms around me. 'So when can you go and see your house?'

'We,' I emphasized, 'can go and see our house as soon as the keys are picked up.'

'What are we waiting for?' he exclaimed, his gorgeous eyes lighting up.

'Come on then,' I said, hopping off his lap and throwing the last shirt into my suitcase. I zipped it and then propped it up against the bed. 'If you take an overnight bag, we could stay there tonight? There won't be a lot of stuff thought, that was given to other family members.'

'We can go to ikea at some point,' he smiled, 'I'll go pack a bag then.'

Taking the key out of the envelope, I looked to Tony as he killed the ignition. 'Here we are,' I said, putting the paper in the center console before hopping out the car. Opening the boot, I grabbed my suitcase and pulled the handle up. Tony took his backpack and we shut the car before heading up the path to the house. Sliding the key in, I took a deep breathe before entering. There wasn't a lot of ornaments or pictures, but I was told there would be beds, furniture and things like a washing machine.

'This is so perfect,' he said, snaking one arm around my waist.

We took our bags up to the master bedroom before exploring. We finished in the kitchen, sitting on the counter as I thought about dinner. 'Pizza?' I suggested - Tony agreed. We pulled out a menu and took the number from it, keying it in to his phone. He ordered a pepperoni pizza and then hung up, licking his lips as he locked his phone.

TONY'S POV

Going through to the living room, we curled up on the couch and turned the TV on - it was Super Nanny. Not bothering to change the channel, we watched as the crazy parent lost control of his wild kid.

'When-' Rachel paused, clearing her her throat. 'If I had kids, I would never dream of talking to them like that. Must be hard being a single parent though,' she added.

'You won't be,' I blurted, instantly regretting it.

'What does that mean?' She said, turning to face me and squinting her eyes.

'I, uh, I just mean that if you were to have children I'm sure you'd pick the right guy. You'd make sure the guy would be a good Dad.' My voice was shaky and I was mentally kicking myself at each word.

'Oh my goodness,' she gasped, watching as the Father slapped the kid in the bum. 'I'd never do that,' she said with shock clear in her voice.

There was a knock at the door. 'Pizza!' She exclaimed jumping to her feet and rushing out the room. Once she was out of sight, I let my head fall back and exhaled deeply.

That was close.
