Bulletproof Love
Before I could respond to what he said, he leaned down and lightly kissed me on the lips. Is this really happening? My best friend and the person I’ve been in love with for years, is kissing me?! I put my arms around his neck and kissed him back passionately. I could feel his smile and he pulled away as I started giggling.
“Wasn’t expecting that, were ya?” he said while still smiling.
“Not at all,” I managed to giggle.
“So I didn’t really know how to approach you with this, but here I go,” he started to say hesitantly, “I’ve like you for so long, Kate. A few days ago I told the guys and they said that they thought you liked me too…so I just thought-“ I stopped him with another kiss before he started rambling.
“Well the guys were right,” I said while flashing a giant smile across my face. I couldn’t believe this. It was too good to be true.
“We’ve been best friends for such a long time and I just want to take things to the next level. So…will you be my girlfriend?”
“Well, Vic, I would love to…” I started to say, “But, what about the rest of the band? What will happen? What if we break up? You know I couldn’t live without the other guys.”
“Don’t worry about any of that, Kate. We’ll find a way. I promise. I just want to be with you,” he said with a serious look on his face.
“Well, since you promised, yes I’ll be your girlfriend.” I said while jumping into his lap and started to kiss him.
We decided to cuddle more and finish watching TV. He started a tickling fight and I couldn’t stop giggling. That’s when my mom walked through the door and asked why we were in such a weird mood. As she walked into the kitchen I turned around and she gave me a weird look. I think she knew what was going on between us. I’ve told my mom before that I like Vic and asked what I should do. She said just wait a while and see if he makes a move. I’ve been waiting for about 2 and ½ years and he finally did.
