“Wake up Vic, wake up!” I mumbled trying to shake Vic to wake up.

It was 11 in the morning and I had to be up to go to my mom’s house. I knew I shouldn’t have stayed up that late with him. But I wanted to support him, our friends, and their dream. They played an amazing show last night. Mike rocked out on the drums, Tony was the best guitar player around, Jaime paid no attention to anything else but his bass, and Vic…well he was greatest singer, and person you could ever meet. I was so lucky that I became friends with these dorks. Finally Vic started opening his eyes.

“What Kate? It’s only 11; calm down.” He groaned with his sleepy voice and turned to face the wall.

“I have to go to Mama Micholotte’s. Wanna come with me?” I genuinely offered.

“Of course I’ll go to Mom’s house. She’s basically like my second mom.” Vic said enthusiastically. It was true. My mom was basically all of the guys’ moms. We’re like one big family, except I don’t look up to Vic as my brother. I’ve actually had a thing for Vic ever since we met. Sometimes I wish he knew how I felt about him, like last night. We were cuddled up in his bed just talking and I just wanted to kiss him, but then he started telling me how I’m the best friend anyone could have. And boy did that kill my mood…

“Okay, go get ready. She said she’ll have lunch waiting for us.” I said smiling.

We both got ready and headed out to my car. It was a good 30 minute drive from Vic’s house so we were starving. We got to her house and went straight to the kitchen.

“Mama!” I screamed as we ran into the kitchen.

“Darlings!” she exclaimed as she went to hug Vic first. She treated all of the boys like her own sons.

“Hi mom, how are you?” I said while she was holding me in a tight hug.

“I’m better now that you guys are here! Lunch is on the table. Go eat!” she said enthusiastically.

Vic and I went to sit at the table and started eating. We made some small talk with my mom about the boys and how the shows were going. When we got done eating Vic and I put our dishes away in the dishwasher.

“I have to go into town to do some things,” she told us, “You guys can stay here if you want.”
We decided to stay and just watch some TV. We got a blanket and started watching a movie.

“Kate?” Vic said while looking down at me with his arm around me.

“Yes?”

“You are the most perfect girl I’ve ever met.” I just stared at him with my big blue eyes. Is this what I think it is?
