The Look.
*** ALICE’S POV ***
Tony and I had an amazing date on Saturday and everything was just so perfect. He asked me to be his girlfriend on Sunday morning by making me breakfast and laying out the chocolate sauce on the pancakes so it said ‘Be mine?’ He’s such a sweetheart. I’ve never felt happier in my entire life. I’m so lucky to have him! I’m just kind of nervous for school today. I’ve never had a good school life. It’s always been kind of shitty for me. I’ve always been bullied. And it’s been off this girl I used to be good friends with actually, she’s called Kerrie. We drifted and ever since she’s hated me. I’m not entirely sure why. But her and her minions I guess you could call them have always bullied me all the way through high school. I just keep telling myself I’ve got one more year and then I’m away from the hell hole for good!
After getting out of the shower I change into my outfit for the day and do my hair and makeup before heading over to Tony’s. He always gives me a lift to school. I knock on the door and Tony comes out, engulfing me in a warm cuddle.
“I’ve missed you little lady” he said into my hair as he squeezed me tight.
“You seen me yesterday you cutie!” I giggled and kissed his cheek.
We got in his car and made our way to school. The ride there was pretty quiet because I was so tired and so was he, purely because we’d stayed up all night on the phone. We stepped out of the car and Tony linked his hand with mine and I had the biggest smile on my face. I have the best boyfriend ever. We see Cassie and Jaime standing kissing each other’s faces off which was cute I suppose… Vic and Mike were standing talking and laughing and when we got near to them. Mike looked up at us with a warm smile and said a quiet ‘hello’ before looking at our hands. His smile dropped from his face and he sighed, picking up his bag and going towards the school.
“What’s his problem?”
“Uh… I-I… Nothing, he’ll be fine.” Vic stuttered out before running after his brother. Something’s going on and I’m not being told it.
“Tone? You know?” I looked up at my boyfriend and kissed him lightly on the lips before he answered.
“Nope sorry baby, I haven’t really spoken to the guys over the weekend, I’ve been with you.” he smiled down at me. I’m so very little compared to him…
“Oh hey guys! When did you get here?” Cassie finally came up from Jaime’s face for a breath of air to speak to us.
“Like five minutes ago, loooovers.” I mocked and her face went bright pink. The bell rang and we all went to our classes.
I had last period off with Cassie so we walked home to catch up. She was definitely hiding something. She was being too quiet. Cassie is usually energetic and you can never normally get her to shut up. I stop in front of her and she snaps her head up to look at me. It looked like there were tears in her eyes.
“What the fuck is wrong?” I hugged her, trying my best to comfort her.
“Jaime… Why hasn’t he asked me to be his girlfriend yet? Am I just being used?”
“Wait what? Used?” I looked up at her puzzled and her face went a bright red colour. “Cassie… Have you two had sex?”
“Not sex but everything else that leads up to it.” She put her head in her hands and I cuddled her tighter.
“Look, he’s probably just scared. How about we go get a tub of Ben & Jerry’s, watch a film and we can have a girly night tonight, you need some cuddles, I can tell! And I’ll talk to Tony about everything and see if he can get through to Jaime. He obviously adores you. You can see it in his eyes when he looks at you.” I wiped away the stray tear that fell from her face as she
nodded.
“Is it the look that you and Tony give each other?” I looked at her with a confused look on my face so she continued… “You knooow, the look. The ‘oh my god you’re perfect and I seriously love you’ look?”
“I wasn’t aware Tony gave me that look…” I bit my lip, holding back a grin. “But yeah, that’s exactly the look Jaime gives you my loooovely lady! Now let’s get ice cream and chill!” I linked my arm with hers and off we went.
*** TONY'S POV ***
I’m so glad Kerrie didn’t start her shit on Alice today. She’s been doing so well with everything recently. She’s eating normally, her anxiety is no-where near as bad and she seems happier. Much happier. I wonder if any of that is because of me… No. It can’t be. That’s being silly. The bell has finally rang to signal the end of school, which means that it’s time for the guys and I to practice. We’re in this band called ‘Pierce the Veil’ and things are starting to look really good. I’m really excited about it; I think good things will come out of it. Vic sings and plays guitar, I play the guitar too, Jaime does backing vocals and the bass and Mike plays the drums. I love playing music. It’s one of the only times I’m truly happy, one of the only times that I feel good about myself. The only other time I feel that way is with Alice… I was snapped out of my thoughts by receiving a text from her.

Cassie upset? That’s a bit strange. I decide to just text her back whilst I’m waiting on Jaime. I’m giving him a lift to the Fuentes’ household anyway.

Just as I hit send Jaime sat in the passenger side of my car and I started the journey to Vic & Mikes. I didn’t want to be so obvious and just come out and ask him but I had to find out for Alice… I turned down the radio and looked at him texting Cassie.
“So Jaime?”
“Yeah man?”
“What’s happening with you and Cassie? I seen you two this morning” I chuckled and nudged him with my elbow.
“Aw shucks” he pretended to be embarrassed and his big ass dimples came out “Yeah uh, I really like her. She’s not answering my texts and I’m shitting myself in case I’ve done something wrong… I was going to take her to dinner this weekend and ask her to be my girlfriend but she’s been distant ever since we done stuff last weekend.”
“Oh I see. Just ask her if you can take her out on a romantic date. Show up with flowers. Look all cute for your woman!” I winked at him and he laughed.
I drove up to the Fuentes household and parked in the driveway. Jaime knocked on the door and Vic appeared and looked somewhat scared. That’s when we heard a big smash coming from Mike’s room.
“Uh, hey guys” Vic mumbled with his head towards the stairs at Mike’s room.
“Hey Vic, what’s going on?” Jaime looked concerned.
“Mike… He’s, uh…” he looked straight at me with a worried expression on his face. “He’s in a pretty shitty mood. But he’ll still practice with us.”
Jaime and I walked through the door and made it down to the basement whilst Vic shouted on his brother. Mike made his way downstairs and then down into the basement.
“You! You fucker!” he said with anger in his eyes, coming towards me with a clenched fist. What the fuck have I done?
