Can You Tell From the Look In Her Eyes?

Darlin' You'll Be Okay

They had sang an amzing set and they were finally at the bery last song. I saw a mischevious glint in Vic's eyes as he gathered all the other guys and they looked straight at me. They all walked back to theire instruments, then started playing.

"She sits up high, surrounded by the sun..." Vic sang.

They were singing Hold On Till May and I had a sinking feeling in my gut. While Hold On Till May was one of my favorite songs, I didn't see Lindsey anywhere.

"If I were you I'd put that away," Vic sang, taking my hand and leading me onstage. "See you're just wasted and thinking about the past again. Darlin' you'll be okay. And she said..." Vic smiled and shoved the mic into my hand.

"If you were me you'd do the same. 'Cause I can't take anymore, I'll throw the shades and close the door. Everything's not alright and I would rather..." I handed him back the mic and he took my hand. We smiled and sang the final chorus together. After it was over people were cheering.

"Thank you, everyone! I'm Vic Fuentes and this is Carter Bell and we're Pierce the Veil!" He yelled enthusiastically. The audience cheered and I heard a few people cheer my name.

We all ran offstage and I groaned. "Viiiiiiccccckkkkkyyyyy!"

"Caaaarrrrrtttttyyyyy!"

I laughed at the stupid nickname. "Why'd you make me do that?"

"Why haven't I made you do that before is the real question," he smiled.

"You were amazing!" Jaime yelled, hugging me and spinning me around.

"Thanks, Hime-Time," I smiled and he set me down.

"To the signing!" Tony yelled. We all linked hands and ran towards the merch tent. The line was about a mile long.

I sat next to Jaime, smiling and taking pictures for people.

"C-can I get your signature?" Asked a younger girl with curly red hair and blue eyes.

"Of course!" I smiled, flattered that anyone recognized me.

"So, are you and Vic together?" She asked hopefully.

"No," I chuckled. "He may be sexy," I winked at Vic, "But I'm best friends with his girlfriend."

"Are you with anyone in the band?"

"Ummm... that remains to be seen..." I gestured to Jaime with my eyes. She saw what I meant, winked, and moved on to Mike and Tony.

"That remains to be seen, huh?" Jaime chuckled.

"Yeah. Mike's pretty sexy," I said in a serious tone.

"What?" Mike looked at us with a lost expression.

Jaime and I busted out laughing.

After a few more people asking me to sign stuff, Jaime and I joking around, and a bunch more pictures, we were done and had decided to walk to the nearest Starbucks.

"Hey!" Gavin yelled from one of the tables in the back.

"Gav!" I walked over and gave him a hug.

"I texted you a bunch and you never replied," his smile faltered.

"I uh... the person that... he has my phone..." I tried to explain without sobbing. Tears burned t the bcks of my eyes at the memories.

"Oh. Well, we need to get you a new one, don't we?" Gavin smiled.

"Yeah. We do," I smiled, but it didn't reach my eyes and he saw.

"What's going on?" Asked Jaime as he and the rest of the guys walked up beside me.

"I uh... I need a new phone," I explained.

"Well, we can head on over to the store as soon as we get our coffee," he smiled, trying to make me feel better. "If you're a good girl, I'll get you the Galazy S3."

"You don't need to buy me a $300 phone Jaime..."

"It's a present for singing on stage with me," Vic winked.

"No."

"Fine," Jaime sighed. But by the glint in his eye, I knew he was going to do something drastic.

I ordered a java chip frappuccino and the rest of the guys had black. I had no idea how they could stand black coffee, but whatever floats their goat...

We all piled out of Vic's shitty old Trans Am and walked into the AT&T store.

"Hi, can I help you?" Asked a preky blonde with a fake-ass smile.

"Hello, my phone was stolen and I was looking for a new one," I explained.

"Oh dear, what happened?" She asked with a concerned look.

"I, uh... I'd rather not talk about it," I looked down at my shoes, once again trying to calm the stinging of unshed tears.

Vic took her aside and explained everything, she gave me a sympathetic look.

"Well, since you're an AT&T customer, you are automatically able to deactivate your old phone and buy a new one. But, the deactivation will take about three days. Hopefully, you haven't used all your data."

"I got unlimited everything, so I'm not too worried."

"Okay, well, pick any of the phones off this wall, and you can have it for free. We'll just get you a new data card and you can take it home with you today," she smiled.

Before I could even take a step towards the wall, the boys had picked out the phone they wanted to get me.

The girl rang it up, and we walked out of the shop with the new Galaxy S3.

"Guys, I didn't need this," I said.

"Yes, you did. I was so sick and tired of your shitty ass preteen phone I could die," Mike laughed.

"Now, hand it over so we can give you our numbers," Jaime said excitedly taking it out of my hand.

They passed it around, typing in their numbers and a few of our other friends'. They handed it back to me and I sighed.

"You guys!" I smiled and hugged them all. "You spoil me."

"And you love it," Jaime kissed my forehead.

I rolled my eyes, and we drove back to the venue. That night, we had a PTV sleepover. Me, Ruby, Logan, Kathy, Jaime, Vic, Mike, and Tony. We all sat in the front lounge watching a Tim Burton marathon. Well, me and Jaime were watching the Corpse Bride. Everyone was either cuddling and asleep or had gone elsewhere to make out.

"You want to go take a walk?" Jaime asked.

"Okay," I got off the sofa and off his chest. I stretched and took his hand.

We walked outside under the stars for a while in comfortable silence. He stopped all of a sudden and just looked at me.

He slowly reached out his free hand to tuck a strand of pink hair behind my ear, leaving his thumb resting on my cheek. I closed my eyes. His lips gently brushed against mine and I threw my arms around his neck. The kiss deepened, but there was no tongue. It was sweet and innocent.

He pulled away and looked into my eyes, searching for something. I stared back just as intently at all the emotions lighting up his brown eyes. Fear, happiness, love, excitement... My lips curved upwards at the thought of him kissing me under the moonlight and how romantic it must've looked.

"Carter, what are we?" He asked quietly.

"I don't know, Jaime," I whispered.

"What about Austin?" His tone was miserable.

"He and I aren't together. We haven't really seen each other since the party," I explained as I watched his eyes twinkle.

"Do you want to get some Chinese food?" He grinned.

"Right now?"

"Right now."

"Let's go."
