Somebody's Supposed To Fall In Love

Got Me So Dizzy

Chapter 2: Got Me So Dizzy
Oh, shit!” Jaime busts into laughter and strategically hops around the huge pool of coffee beneath Mike and I. “Close call!” Then he grins and continues hoping toward the register line.
“I am so sorry!” I mutter, my voice shaky and nervous as I stare up at him. On the outside, I appear a frightened little girl, but on the inside, I am mentally murdering myself. Why am I such a fucking idiot? Why couldn’t I have held onto the damn coffee?
Mike’s face scrunches up in distaste, before he wipes the top of his arm against his jeans. “I guess that’s what I get for buying white shoes. What the fuck was I thinking?”
I bite down on my bottom lip and turn, stepping out of the puddle and grabbing a few napkins. “I really am sorry… I wasn’t paying attention.” I turn back to him and he’s right there, reaching for a napkin as well. I sigh and press the one in my hand to the bottom of his shirt.
He grins and holds his hands up, watching me. “Woah! Careful, sweetie! You’re getting awfully close to my lower beltal region…”
“She gets right down to business!” Jaime calls from the register, as the barista hands him a back some change. “What more could ask for in a girl, Mikey?”
Rolling my eyes, I continue scrubbing at the stains on his tank top. After about a minute Mike bend down and starts to soak up some of the coffee from his Vans. “What’s your name?”
“Lana.”
“You don’t have a last name?”
“Lana Hadley.” I hand him another napkin, but instead of grabbing it, his fingers graze over the skin on my wrist. My cheeks go red and I look down tensely. “What’re you doing?”
“I like the font.” He smirks and brings my wrist closer to his face. “Is it your first?”
“Um…it was.” I say, nibbling on my bottom lip. “I have five now.”
Mike’s eyes brighten. “Wow. Well, how old were you when you got this one?”
I think for a few seconds, watching as Jaime talks to the barista. Finally, I look back at Mike. “I used all the money I got on my sixteenth birthday and went to get it done. My mother was pissed.”
He grins and gently moves his fingers over it, making my cheeks even pinker. “I got my first when I was fifteen. One of my friends did it.”
I smirk and pull my hand away from his, before moving to lean against the counter. His eyes swiftly move up my body and then he stands up, stepping closer to me. He’s within six inches of me, and he’s so damn tall. It’s intimidating. “You probably cried when you got it done.”
“Absolutely not.” He rolls his eyes and holds his left arm up, pointing to a red and black logo. “My arm flab protected me.”
“Your flab?” I laugh quietly. “Okay…”
“I can’t say that about the one on my ribcage though.” He shakes his head playfully and reaches up to adjust his snapback. “They had to give me a teddy bear to squeeze and a lollipop after. I’m not ashamed of it in the least.”
“You pour thing!” I giggle, my eyes watching him playfully. Am I being too flirty? I’m honestly not trying to be. He’s sex on legs. “Don’t worry, I cried with the one on my wrist.”
“Where are your others?” He smirks and reaches for my wrist again. Now I’m basically pressed against the counter and he’s right in front of me. Not even four inches separating us.
“I’m afraid I can’t show you.” I say, before biting on my bottom lip.
“And why’s that?”
“I’d have to talk my clothes off.”
As soon as those words slip from my lips, Jaime appears next to us. “Just met her and already forcing the clothes to come off, huh?” He takes a bite of a giant cookie and shakes his head, glancing over at me. “He’s like a drug, sweetheart. You just have to say no…or get one of those water spray bottles for dogs that you can use when it starts humping your leg.”
“Fuck off…” Mike laughs and takes a step back from me, before walking around the coffee puddle and heading to the register line. “We were talking about tattoos.”
Oh, your dick tats?” Jaime chuckles to himself. “I’ve seen them myself.”
“He’s lying.” Mike shakes his head and smirks. Then he squints and looks up at the menu, scratching his head confusedly. I smile to myself as he leans forward to the lady in front of him. “What’s in the tropical smoothie?” The lady glances at him nervously and then turns away.
It’s so hard not to smile at him. He’s basically a seven-year-old boy trapped in a tall body. So fucking adorable.
“Lana?” Alex calls from behind. My heart drops. I had completely forgotten about her and Aiden.
Jaime and I both turn, but her gaze focuses on him and her jaw drops. “You’re…”
“Jaime Preciado.” He nods, while still chewing on the cookie. “And you are?”
“Holy fu—”
“That’s my little sister, Alex.” I interrupt her before she can embarrass the both of us. “Just ignore everything she says.”
“Will do.” Jaime nods.
Alex glares at me, but then her eyes widen even more. I glance to my left and Mike is there, pulling apart the top of a muffin. “You too?” Alex mutters, her mouth still hanging open.
“Me, what?” Mike raises an eyebrow in confusion.
“Oh, god, everyone just ignore the fangirl.” I roll my eyes. “Alex, go with Aiden to start the car.” She glares at me, but turns and strides back to the booth. I just sigh, watching her. Sometimes, it’s hard to believe we’re related.
“Jaime, are we fucking going or what?” Mike takes another bite of the muffin and makes a disgusted face, before holding it out for me. “Want this? I hate it.”
Laughing, I take the muffin over to the trashcan and toss it. “No, I don’t want something you just took a chunk out of!”
Jaime takes the last bite of his cookie. “We can go. Just let me take a piss first.”
“I’ll be waiting.” Mike then pokes my cheek. “You should come with us. We’re meeting everyone at some place down the street. I saw it when we drove in this morning. It’s nice. You can get something to drink and it’ll be fun. Plus, you owe me for fucking up my shoes.”
“I’m only nineteen.”
He smirks. “So I’ll have to buy you something to drink.”
I would give anything to go get drunk with these guys, not to mention meet Tony and Vic and whoever else is going. But I have to drive my sister and Aiden home. This fucking sucks. I bite down on my bottom lip and sigh. “I would really love to go… But I have to get home. We live in Santa Monica…”
Mike steps closer to me and pouts playfully. “Come on! Have some fun… Can’t they drive themselves?”
“Well, Alex’s boyfriend has his license…”
“Perfect!” He grins and reaches into his pocket for car keys. “They’ll drive themselves and I’ll drive you home, since it’s past your bedtime.”
“I don’t have a bedtime.” I roll my eyes. “And what’re you going to do about Jaime?”
“He’s a big boy! I’ll just leave him to figure it out.”
“You can’t ditch him!”
“Oh, calm down, Del Rey… You’re giving me anxiety.”
“Who’re we ditching?” Jaime trots over, wiping his hands on his jeans. “Goddamn bathroom has no paper towels.”
“I’m gonna drive Lana home, okay? See ya.” Mike grabs my hand and pulls me forward.
“Wait! What am I supposed to do…?” Jaime stands there, his arms held out.
“Start walking!” Mike shouts from the door. “Work off those calories!”

Mike glances over at me, as he drives. “Have you been to any of our other shows?”
“Yeah…” I yawn, watching the desert scenery roll past the car. “I saw you guys in San Diego last year.”
“Ah!” He grins and goes back to the road. “San Hiego! The Fuentes’ homeland.”
I giggle quietly and turn to him, resting my arm on the center console. “I liked this set better though. Plus, some guy picked me up and everyone carried me to the front of the crowd. It was fucking frightening in the moment, but I want to do it again.”
“Holy shit…” He starts to laugh and quickly glances at my shirt, before veering into the next exit lane. “You’re the one in the pink shirt that Kellin and Vic pointed out.”
“Yes, sir.” I smile, watching him. “No one would put me down.”
“Yeah.” He clears his throat. “I mean, I can’t see much when I’m playing, but some of those people are fucking nuts.”
“I don’t know how you can see at all when you play.” I smile playfully and he turns to me. “You just whip your sweaty hair around.”
“Cause it’s fucking three hundred and fifty degrees up there.”
“Well, personally, I think your hair is sexy.”
He raises an eyebrow and bites at the ring in his lip. “Do you really? Because that’s what I was going for when I rolled out of bed this morning. Dear hair gods, make me sexy for Lana Del Rey.”
I shoot him a look. “Would you stop calling me that?”
“Fine.” He grins. “So tell me everything I need to know about you, Lana.”
Everything?” I lean back against the seat and think, twirling my hair over my fingers as I do. “Well, my birthday is September 4th. I have two younger sisters, you met Alex, but there’s a six year old, named Gemma. My father works in Los Angeles, and is the CEO of some record company.”
“Which company?” Mike reaches over and turns the radio completely off.
“I don’t even know.” I say, shrugging. “His company produces movie soundtracks.”
“Interesting.”
“Definitely...” I roll my eyes. “My mother on the other hand is a bitch.”
Mike slows the car down and stops at a red light. “Is that her profession? She’s a pro bitch?”
“Yeah, she’s a fucking professional bitch.” I murmur, starting to braid the right side of my hair. “When I was seventeen a few of my friends and I were smoking in the backyard. They brought tons of beer and bottles of cheap shit and my parents came home from dinner early.” I laugh a bit, thinking about it. “My ex, we were just friends at the time, had the bright idea of running a few houses down. So, we jumped the fence and brought all our stuff into the neighbor’s pool. She was on vacation. But my fucking mother saw us and called the police.” I burst into laughter. “We were so fucked up when the police came. I got arrested and my mom refused to come bail me out that night.”
Mike starts laughing as well. “So you’ve done time? I would’ve never guessed that.”
“Yeah, I’ve been in jail for a total twenty-four hours.” I turn to face him completely. “The second time I got arrested I—”
“The second time?” He quickly glances at me, his lips curled into an amused expression. “Holy fuck! You should inform people of your criminal record before getting into the car with them! You could pull a gun on me or something.”
“Oh, please…” I scoff. “I stole three packs of cigarettes.”
“Three? What, one wasn’t enough to get you through the day?” He asks, sarcastically.
“Two of them were for me.” I state. “The other was for my sister’s boyfriend.”
“A pretty girl like you shouldn’t be smoking at all.” He raises his eyebrows. “Seriously.”
“Does weed count?”
“Fuck no.” He laughs and turns the car off the highway. Now there’s only about fifteen minutes until we get to my house. “But you said something about your ex earlier.” Mike says randomly. “Are there any other males I should know of?”
“Nope.” I sigh and look back out the window. “I’m actually newly single. The fucker is going to college in Arizona and I’m stuck here to rot.”
Mike bites his bottom lip, obviously realizing he has hit a sensitive topic. “You’re not going to college?”
“Nope.” I shrug. “I’m not really college material. I’m enrolling in cosmetology school though. I want to be a makeup artist or hairdresser… I like making people feel good about themselves.”
“You’re so cute.” Mike smiles over at me. “You’re a badass with a soft side. That’s pretty much the equivalent of defying gravity, sweetheart.”
I smile to myself when he says that. He thinks I’m cute.

Mike slows down and eventually stops at the end of our long driveway. My car is in the driveway, so Aiden and Alex obviously got home okay. Most of the houselights are off, so my parents must be sleeping.
“Your house is huge.” Mike rolls the window down and stares outside. “And right on the beach… Damn, you’re fucking loaded.”
“It’s not really home...” I say simply. “When my mom is home, she’s constantly bitching and my dad is always at work. Alex is constantly with Aiden. My boyfriend left. I’m just alone in the big house.”
Mike turns to me and sighs, slowly giving me a faint smile. Then he reaches up and pulls his snapback off. He tugs my beanie off and replaces it with his hat. I smile slightly up at him and he slowly drags his fingertips down my cheeks. My face automatically feels hot under his touch, but I can’t control that.
“We’re playing in Ventura tomorrow.” He murmurs. “It’s still pretty close… But then we head to San Francisco.”
Even though we just met, and I never had intentions of running into Mike Fuentes, I frown at the thought of never seeing him again. He’s honestly the coolest guy to talk to, because he hasn’t bragged about himself once. He just listens and asks questions. “Well, that’s part of your life, I guess. You tour…”
“I know… But I just want you to know that I feel the same way too. We have the same problems.” His fingers gently move down my neck and my stomach flips. Holy shit, Lana. Just go for. Don’t be a pussy. This is a once in a lifetime chance.
My mouth opens to speak, but instead, I abruptly lean over the center console and press my lips to his. I feel his lips smile over mine and I die a little inside. He grabs my face with one hand and my ass with the other, trying to pull me onto his lap. I straddle his waist and push my fingers through his long hair, before biting down playfully on his lip and pulling it back, smirking.
His eyes stare into mine and my heart begins to hammer against my ribcage. Is this real life? Still gazing into my eyes, Mike touches my jean shorts, swiftly unzipping them. I can only imagine how much practice he’s had with unzipping girl’s shorts. He then presses his lips to mine and reaches down to frantically push the seat back, while I fumble with his belt. Fuck, yes.

Notes

Sorry it took so long to post. I had it all written yesterday, but my mom spilled a bowl of cereal and milk on my laptop and it fried, without me saving the chapter. I cried for a good twenty minutes.....
