The first two weeks of school went by fast. Everyone does say that senior year flies by. Of course, I was still being deemed as the “popular girl” at Mission Bay, but I had been doing my best to ignore all of the publicity and paparazzi as I called them. We were all just high school students, I didn’t get what made me so different. One of the best things about this year so far was that Tony and Tiffany became a couple in no time. Mike was working full time now and Vic was at community college full time. I was back to my full time job of school and then cheer. Things were falling into place, and I was grateful for that. Now that we had new girls on each team and I was a captain for varsity, cheer was beginning to take over even the parts of my life that were outside of school. I would stay after practice and help out some of the new girls with their stunts and even go over things that wouldn’t be told to them until future practices. Coach Marcie was up my ass about getting to National’s this year with no injuries and I wanted to make that happen.

I laid on the orange and yellow striped towel in my black bikini, the sun shining down onto my tanning oil covered skin, soaking in and making my whole body sweat. The sound of the guys playing beach soccer filled my ears, along with the waves crashing against the shore. I propped myself up on my elbows and pulled my sunglasses down lower on my nose, looking at the idiots I call friends running around after a ball. My head shot down as the ball came too close for comfort, and two pairs of legs came running in my direction, kicking sand everywhere.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” Abbey screamed from next to me, sitting up and shaking sand off her body. She took off her sunglasses and glared at the culprits, who happened to be Vic and Tony, “What makes you think that’s okay?”

“Ab, shut up, it’s just sand,” Casey called out from beside Mike. They both looked as if they were laughing at the situation that just happened.

“It’s just sand,” Abbey mimicked in an annoyed voice and looked at me and Tiff. “Can we go grab lunch now? I fucking hate all of them.”

“Alright, drama queen…” I laughed and grabbed my shorts out of my beach bag, pulling them over my bikini. I grabbed my wristlet and flip flops then made my way over to Mike. I smiled and stood on my tip toes, kissing his cheek, “Whatcha want for lunch?”

“A burger and fries… what else do I ever want for lunch?” He laughed and pulled me into his arms.

I crinkled my nose, “You smell like sweat.”

“You smell like tanning shit,” he wiped my arm with his finger and then wiped my face. “I’m tanner than you and I don’t use this shit.”

“Yeah, well you’re also hispanic, so can it,” I smiled. He leaned down and kissed me lightly. I pulled away and looked over at Vic, “Hey, ugly, what do you want to eat?”

“Oh, Cassie you’re feeding me? I just love you so much,” Vic replied while batting his eyelashes. Mike let out a growl under his breath and I turned and raised an eyebrow, he just smiled. Vic gnawed on his bottom lip, like he was actually pondering what to eat. “Just get me whatever you’re getting him.”

“As always,” I laughed. “Bye shitheads.”

I caught up with the girls who were already trekking up the beach and threw my flip flops on the ground, then slipped them on. We walked along the path that took you from the beach itself to the more populated area quietly. Tiffany had her headphones in and was listening to something anyway, and I just didn’t feel like dealing with a grumpy Abbey. We found the usual place we went to for food, walked in and ordered, then took a seat waiting for our food to be ready. I put my sunglasses onto my head and stared out the window, looking out onto the beach sighing.

“What’s up with you?” Tiffany nudged me with her elbow.

I shrugged, “I still haven’t told Mike that I’m visiting schools next weekend. I want him to come with me, but I don’t want him to feel overwhelmed by all of this.”

She wrapped her arm around my shoulders and pulled me into a side hug, “Cass, you know he’d be ecstatic about seeing schools with you. Mike’s going to support you no matter what you do or where you go. We all are, even if we end up in different places.”

I frowned, “I just can’t imagine leaving him… even to go to LA. Like, I know it’s months away but it’s still on my mind because it is going to happen.”

“Stop thinking about the future,” Abbey pointed at me. “We’ve got a hell of a lot more shit to worry about this year than the thought of you and Mike separating.”

I glared at her, “I don’t know who pissed in your cereal this morning, Abs, but Mike comes before cheer and you know it.”

“I’m just saying that you thinking about this is a load of shit, Cass. Like you don’t see me freaking out over Casey and I.”

“Oh, I’m sorry, Abbey. I forgot that your boyfriend and you have faced the same struggles as Mike and I.” I snapped.

“All because Mike’s fucked up doesn’t mean that he’s going to go off the deep end once you’re gone. They make medicine for a reason!” Abbey growled in my face.

“Excuse me?”

Tiffany held onto my shoulders, ready to push me back if I tried to do anything, “You two need to stop. Let’s get our food and leave. Obviously something is wrong with you today, Abbey, but Cassie you don’t need to fuel it.”

I grabbed my food from the counter and exited the store, not giving two shits if the two of them were behind me or not. I was really pissed off at Abbey. I don’t know what was wrong with her but she did not need to cross the line like that. When I got back down to the beach all of the guys were sitting on what were us girls towels. I threw Mike and Vic the bag of food and plopped down next to them.

“What’s up with you, chica?” Vic asked while grabbing his food out of the bag.

“Nothing,” I rolled my eyes as soon as I heard Abbey’s voice approaching. “We’ll talk later.”

“Why aren’t you eating?” Mike asked as I rested my head on his shoulder. I just shrugged and he held up a fry to my mouth. I shook my head, “I don’t care how pissed off you are, you can’t resist fries and I know it.”

I smiled and grabbed the fry with my teeth, “I hate you for knowing my weaknesses.”

“I’m your boyfriend, it’s my job to know your weaknesses and make you face them,” he laughed and put another fry in front of my face.

“Would you stop it,” I laughed and grabbed this one. I picked my head up off his shoulder and put my sunglasses back on the bridge of my nose, “Oh, Mikey, I’ve been meaning to ask… Mom and I are going to visit a couple schools next weekend and would you like to come with me?”

“Of course, babe,” he laughed. “I would like to see the place that you’re going to be calling home.”

I turned and looked at him with a smile, “Good. I’m glad you want to come. I can’t wait for tonight.”

“What’s tonight?” Vic butted into the conversation.

“I have the house to myself. No mom, no Frankie…” Vic made a disgusted face and I laughed, “Don’t give me that face.”

Vic cringed, “You guys are going to be fucking the entire time.”

“No we’re not!” I scoffed, “It’s not going to be just us you weirdo.”

“Cassie is throwing a party,” Tony chimed in from beside us. “Everyone’s going.”

“How come I didn’t know about this?” Vic frowned.

“Because you’re a dumb college kid,” I laughed. “But you’re invited, Vicky. You can bring some friends, too, but if they stay they’re on clean up duty the next day along with you because my mom will be home at 2 tomorrow with Frankie.

Vic literally started to bounce in his seat, “This is so cool! Cassie’s throwing a party! This never happens! And you have a pool and hot tub and your house is huge!”

“And upstairs is off limits,” I smiled. “You guys can go upstairs but no one else. Someone can sleep in Frankie’s room, someone can sleep in the guest room and someone can sleep in my mom’s room, preferably you Vic.”

“And the rule is that when Cassie is ready to go to sleep we have to kick people out,” Mike said while wrapping his arm around me and resting his hand on my hip. “And then all doors must be locked and all lights must be out.”

“This is going to be so fucking sweet!” Vic practically squealed, “And it’s going to be Tony’s first real Mission Bay party.”

Tiffany giggled and kissed Tony’s cheek, “No looking at the other little sluts while they prance around in skimpy clothes.”

“I would never,” Tony smiled and rested his forehead against hers and then gave her a quick kiss.

“You guys are so cute,” I said with a smile. “Mike, why don’t we do cute things like that?”

“Cass, you farted on me this morning and expect me to be cute with you?” Mike looked at me with a smirk.

“Oh my god!” I threw my hands in the air, “It was an accident! You wouldn’t stop tickling me. Could’ve been worse. I could’ve peed on you again.”

“Okay this is just getting weird,” Tiffany said with wide eyes.

“Cassie peed on Mike when she was drunk,” Vic said while laughing, obviously remembering that moment.

I shook my head with embarrassment, “At least it was only his shoe.”

“And pant leg,” Mike added.

“I told you to move! But did you, no. So you got peed on,” I smiled and kissed his cheek.

“I remember that night,” Casey laughed. “Cassie and Mike were both peeing in the bushes at the same time at this party and Mike put his foot in the wrong spot.”

“I had Cassie’s piss on my pants and shoe for the rest of the night,” Mike shook his head. “It was so gross.”

A few hours later, we had all left the beach and gone back to our homes. Mike had come home with me since he already had a change of clothes here and it would be pointless for him to go home. We had showered together right when we got here so that we wouldn’t track sand around the entire house, and now we were enjoying some quality time just the two of us on the couch.

I sat in a pair of boy shorts and one of Mike’s hoodies, my head in his lap. All he had on was a pair of boxer briefs and I loved it. I loved everything about his clothing-less body. From the way his ribs were noticeable on his torso to how skinny and stick-like his legs were. His hands were busy, one running through my nearly dry hair, ridding it of any tangles, and the other bringing a cigarette back and forth from his lips to the ash tray on the arm of the couch.

My eyes were focused on the television in front of us playing a horror film, showing a girl getting hacked to bits by a chainsaw. Any other couple wouldn’t find it to be a romantic or relaxing moment, but the two of us did. This was so normal for us and I loved it.

“I love you,” I pressed a kiss to his right thigh.

“I love you, too,” he said softly while pushing all of my hair away from my face.

I flipped onto my back and looked up at him. He was busy staring at the television, his brows furrowed and cigarette hanging out of the side of his mouth. Finally, a few moments later he grabbed the cig and put it out in the ash try and looked down at me.

“Yes?” He raised an eyebrow.

“I wanna make out,” I giggled.

He rolled his eyes and grabbed me under my armpits, pulling me up and sitting me on his lap, facing him, “How old are we? Thirteen?”

I gasped, “What’s wrong with innocent making out?

“There is no innocent anything with you, Assandra,” he winked and grabbed a handful of my butt.

I giggled again, “You’re the one that made me this way.”

“I remember the first time we made out and you were like what do I do with my hands? And I laughed at you and you smacked me upside the head with your pillow,” Mike laughed and pulled me closer to him. “Now you beg me to fuck you from behind and bite your neck till you bleed.”

I rolled my eyes and then took my hands and pulled down Mike’s face, “Don’t remind me of how awkward I was.”

“You were so weirded out by the thought of me seeing your vagina for the longest time it was so funny. Like I could finger you and everything but you didn’t want me to see it. And then you wouldn’t touch my dick until I don’t know when,” he laughed as I groaned uncomfortably.

“I was innocent! I had only kissed one guy before I met you and then here you come into my life and start making out with me and feeling me up.”

“Remember you had to sneak me over when we first started having sex because you didn’t know how to be quiet? And your mom could totally tell I was doing something to you the first time I fingered you because you were loud as shit.”

“That’s enough, Michael,” I whined and put my head on his shoulder. I was seriously such a loser when we first started dating. He was all experienced and knew what he was doing because he had lost his virginity years ahead of me, and I was an idiot when it came to everything.

“Okay one more thing,” he rubbed my back.

“What?” I asked with an annoyed tone.

“Remember the first time you gave me head and you ran to the bathroom ready to vomit?” he was laughing hysterically at this point. “Now you consume my cum like it’s your favorite meal.”

“Are you done?” I picked my head up and looked at him, he was laughing so hard his eyes pricked tears.

He nodded, “I just can’t believe I turned you into such a little freak.”

“So can we make out now or…?” I smiled and pressed my forehead against his, looking him in the eyes and batting my eyelashes. “Because I really just want your lips on mine.”

He smirked and closed the space between our lips, our teeth automatically clashing as we opened our mouths at the same rate, hungry to taste each other. My tongue found his and began the usual battle of dominance that we always had. I would always give up and let him win, but all I wanted to do was make out so there was no giving up right now. As our tongues busied one another I placed my forearms on his shoulders and reached up, lightly scratching the back of his head with my nails. His hands were still on my back, his thumbs making small circles over the dimples that were embedded into my lower back.

Things were always different when we took our time just kissing one another. Even though we had been together for nearly three years now, it didn’t mean that we made love and showed love just as much as we had normal sex and lusted after one another. Usually the actions that the two of us made with one another on a sexual level were because of lust, just because we’d get caught up in the heat of things or knew that there were people around and we couldn’t take our time. But when we had the chance to be alone, we were intimate and loving towards one another, and I loved that our relationship was dynamic like that.

Mike’s tongue ultimately overpowered mine and made it’s way into exploring my mouth. It made sure to trace over every centimeter exposed, never skipping a spot. He saved his favorite spot for last, the roof of my mouth. His tongue flicked against the roof of my mouth and I pulled away from him, letting a giant giggle fall out from my lips. He knew I was extremely ticklish there and it was a really sensitive spot.

I stared into his deep, chocolate brown eyes, “Why do you always have to do that?”

“Because I love your reaction,” he smiled.

I felt my cheeks heat up, and since I had no make up on they were probably a crimson red color like a tomato. “You’re a loser,” I smiled and placed my lips on his again.

We were taken out of our slightly romantic moment by the front door of my house being kicked open and the voice of none other than Casey screaming ‘sup fuckers’ at the top of his lungs. Mike groaned and leaned his head back on the couch and I shot him a sad smile.

“Did I interrupt something?” Casey laughed and took a seat on the couch next to us.

“Kind of,” Mike replied with a slightly annoyed tone. “What are you doing here already?”

“Well, Abbey is still being super cunt so I can’t hang out with her anymore. I seriously just walked out of her house and left. I don’t know what’s up with her,” Casey huffed.

I shifted on Mike’s lap so that my back was against the arm of the couch, my legs folded on his lap. I shrugged in response to Casey’s comment, not wanting to really speak to him because for once Mike and I were having an intimate moment and it was ruined.

“What happened earlier with her, babe? You never told me,” Mike said while rubbing his hand up and down my left thigh lightly.

I rested my head on the back of the couch and looked at him, jutting my lip out. “I don’t know. I was like off thinking while we were waiting for food and then she got an attitude and said some shit I’m not going to repeat because hearing it again is just going to make me want to knock her teeth out when I see her tonight.”

“I don’t even think she’s going to show up,” Casey spoke up. “She told me that she’s scared to come over.”

“She should be. Tiffany literally had to hold me back earlier,” I smiled.

Mike sighed, “Can you tell me what she said about me?”

“How would you know if she said something about you or not?” I raised an eyebrow in Mike’s direction.

“Because I’m the only reason you’d ever hurt someone, Cassie,” he frowned as I shrugged my shoulders.

The party was extremely fun, even though a little mind-wrecking because it was taking place at my home and I needed to make sure that nothing got destroyed so that my mom would have no clue that this happened. It was great to get together will all of my friends in high school, along with those who had previously graduated thanks to Mike and Vic for telling everyone. Just as Casey had proposed, there was no sight of Abbey at all tonight, and I was pretty happy about that. Mike and I had drank a fifth of Captain Morgan’s to ourselves so I was way past drunk. If Abbey had come and I was this wasted, I probably would’ve ended up beating the shit out of her due to her remarks earlier today.

The party was dying down, and I was dying to have Mike in bed with me. I had lost him a little while ago, he went to go smoke in the backyard with a couple people. I was on a mission to find him and take him upstairs. I trusted Vic, Casey and Tony enough to keep the party under control and that within an hour or so they’d kick everyone out anyway.

I grabbed one of the few remaining beers from my refrigerator and made my way into the living room. Julie was standing there, flirting with that Mark kid that was into me. All I needed was for her and him to hook up, and then he would leave me alone.

“Cassie,” Julie giggled and waved me over. “Mark and I were wondering if you knew where we could get some weed.”

I smiled and let out a laugh, “Yeah. Mike’s dealer is here. He’s wearing a purple hoodie and black skinny jeans. Just say that I told you guys about him.”

“You’re the best,” she smiled and hugged me, walking off in search of Mike’s dealer, Rickie.

“You look really good tonight, Cassie,” Mark showed off his perfectly straight teeth. “It’s different than what you normally have on.”

I shook my head, “Because I can’t wear this to school. It’s against all the rules… Plus, I think I’ve worn sweatpants at least three times already and it’s only been a few weeks. No one to impress at Mission Bay.”

“You look hot in sweatpants, too,” Mark laughed. “No one to impress though? Not even me.”

I grinned, “Nope. The only person I ever needed to impress graduated in May. And I didn’t even need to impress him.” I squeezed his muscular arm, “Now, I’m off to go find my boyfriend. Nice talking to you, Mark.”

I turned on my heel and made my way to the sliding glass door that led out to our back patio. I saw Mike standing around with a group of his friends, a cigarette in between his left fingers, dangling down by his thighs. Just the sight of him from the back made me crazy.

I practically ran to him, throwing my arms around his torso and pressing my chest up to his back, whining out his name, “Mikey.”

“Babe!” He cried out, raising his left arm up high, “Be careful. You could’ve burned yourself.”

I let go of him and stood in front of him, my back to all of his friends, “Can we go to bed?”

“Cassie, it’s only one!” Jack laughed as I stared at Mike with my bottom lip sticking out.

Mike laughed and threw his cigarette on the ground. He wrapped his arms around me and picked me up so he could look me in the eyes. I wrapped my legs around his waist and smiled at him as he spoke, “Do you want to go to bed, or do you want to go,” he put emphasis on the go, “to bed.”

I giggled and gnawed on my bottom lip, “The second one. We can come back down after.”

“We’ll be back,” Mike winked at the guys and carried me into the house past the waves of people and friends and right up the stairs to my room.

I was placed onto the bed, Mike still holding me in his arms as my legs continued to be wrapped around him. His lips soon collided with mine, but not in the rough way that I was expecting. His kiss was tender and caring, much like the one we had shared earlier. I really wanted to just get fucked, but if he wanted to be intimate I wanted it too. I wanted whatever he wanted.

After kissing each other for several minutes, Mike pulled away from me. We were both breathless as he placed his forehead on mine and stared into my eyes. I stared right back into his, but I always did. My eyes were always on Mike and always have been. He just now started to pick up my trait. He stared at me all the time, and I laughed at him about it because he used to pick on me for it.

Mike’s face was soon out of my sight as he moved down my body, his lips leaving ghostly kisses down the front of my neck and onto my collarbone. His right hand was gently massaging my left breast through the fabric of his shirt that I was wearing. His left hand was on the back of my neck, just softly holding onto me. I was so happy to be having a moment like this after the one got ruined earlier by Casey.

“Cassie! I hate to interrupt you and Mike but this is serious!” Tiffany’s voice called out from the other side of my bedroom door.

Mike sat up, pulling me up with him. We both rolled our eyes simultaneously and laughed. I could tell he was just as irritated as I was from this. He kissed my lips softly, “To be continued once again… when everyone is fucking gone.”

“I’m sorry, baby,” I pouted and ran my hands through his hair. “Let’s do it in the morning. We’ll make everyone wake up early and clean, then we’ll kick them out and we can do our own thing.”

“Cassie! It’s serious!” Tiffany screamed, probably as loud as she could.

I huffed and got off the bed, walking over to the door and opening it, “What the fuck could be so… Abbey what’s wrong?” My mood went from irritated to concerned. Abbey was in Tiffany’s arms hysterically crying. “What is going on? Get in here.”

They both walked in and Mike got off the bed. He kissed my forehead and told me that he would be back up later. I locked the door behind him and kneeled on the side of the bed, grabbing Abbey’s hands and holding them in mine.

“Ab, what is wrong?” I asked while furrowing my brow, trying to look at her as she hid her tearstained face. She shook her head as another sob came out of her lips.

Tiffany swallowed so hard I could hear it a foot away. She put her hand in Abbey’s purse and pulled out something I never expected to see. That little plus sign said it all. That’s what has been wrong with Abbey.

I wrapped my arms around her instantly, holding her tight, “It’s going to be okay.”
