Broken On The Inside

I was talking at Tony when I was approached by someone. He had brown hair, dark green eyes, and somewhat pale skin. He was somewhat tall and was wearing a plaid shirt.
"Uhmm...hey," I said to him. "What do you need?"
He shrugged, "Nothing. I just thought you were pretty and decided to come and talk to you."
I blushed, and he smiled brightly.
"So, Lydia, right?" He asked.
I smiled, "Yeah."
He chuckled, "Well, hello Lydia, I'm Russell. But everyone calls me Rusty."
I grinned like a fool and pushed a stray piece of hair behind my ear.
"Well," he said, "I gotta go, my friend is calling me. But I'll talk to you in about an hour, okay?"
I was at a loss for words so I just nodded.
He waved and walked off.
I could tell this guy was different from the other guys I've dated. He was obviously nervous and shy, but he had a way of hiding it.
He had a sweet laugh, and was obviously a nice guy.
I ended up wandering off outside, looking for Vic.
I could hear soft crying from where I was at, which was just outside the door. I followed the sound and ended up finding Vic in the garden, crying softly.
"Vic!" I ran to his side. "What's wrong?"
"Danielle broke up with me..." His voice was quiet and shaky, so I could barely hear it. But barely was better than nothing.
I went to hug him, but he stopped me.
"Go back inside," he told me. "I'll be fine." I went to object but he just shooed me off.
So, I went to go find that Rusty guy again.

"Dude, I think I have a crush..." I told my friend Austin, aka Potato, who I was currently on the phone with.
"On who?"
"Well, my friend Tony invited me to his friend's coming home party. I met this girl and...I don't know. She's really nice and pretty...."
"Go for it, dude!" Austin told me. "She sounds really cool, and you need a girlfriend."
I sighed, "Ok. I'm gonna go ask her out. Bye Potato." I hung up on him and headed back out to the main room where everyone was.
I wandered around, seeing if she was anywhere around.
Then, I found her.
I approached her, and tapped on her shoulder. She turned around and smiled at me.
"Hey Rusty," she said in her sweet voice, "what's up?"
I took a deep breath, then spoke, "Do you wanna go out sometime?"
She thought for a second, then responded, "Sure! Can I see your phone? I'm just gonna give you my number so...yeah."
I gave her my phone and she put her number in.
"Ok," I said, "I'll call you when I get a free day off work. Talk to you then, I guess."
She smiled and nodded, "Yeah. I assume you're leaving...?"
I nodded, "Until next time, Lydia." She smiled at me and waved as I walked out to my car.
Notes
So, what do ya think?
Also, the people in this chapter, Rusty and Potato/Austin, are inspired by real life friends I have.
And the Rusty guy? Yeah, he's my crush.
Sorry it's short, but I had to set up the upcoming events.
