Misadventures

What a Wonderful World

**Time Skip**

Carolina's POV

It was September and also a few weeks before my due date. My favorite movie to watch was 'What to Expect When You're Expecting'. I mean, the girl has a miscarriage, but she realizes it wasn't her time, then the lady has the kid she's always wanted, and this lady has an unexpected pregnancy, and it's so funny but it makes me cry too. I was on the scene where Jules was giving birth.
“Is it gonna hurt that bad? Tony, is it gonna hurt that bad when I give birth?” I asked him.
“Not unless you get the epidural.” He replied.
“I shall feel pain for our child.” I said.
I watched Jules give birth and I started to cry.
“I don't think I can do it, Tony.” I said, as he sat down next to me. “I mean look at her, she's struggling.”
“If she can do it, I'm pretty sure you can.” He said.
He had a point.
“Thanks, Tony.” I said, wiping away my tears.
I took a drink of some mango juice, which I had been drinking since the beginning of my pregnancy, and I felt the baby kick.
“Oh, she just kicked.” I said.
“You don't know if it's a girl.” Tony said, putting his hand on my stomach.
“I have a feeling it's a girl.” I said.
“Well if she is, she's really kicking you.” He said, smiling.
We had names picked out already, if it was a girl, which I knew it was, we would name her Violet, and if it was a boy, we would name him Monte. A few hours later I started to blog, I now blogged about motherhood, or pre-motherhood. I was in the middle of blogging when I felt this tight pressure in my stomach. I had to make sure they weren't false contractions, so I put my feet up and drank some water, calling Tony in the room, just in case. When he came in, that's when I really felt the pain.
“Yeah, no. Time to go, get the bag.” I told him.
“Okay, getting the bag, keys, and car.” He said, getting everything.
We went to the car and drove to the hospital and had everything ready. The hard part was having to wait to push.
“Can I at least have some drugs?” I yelled at the doctors.
“We can get you some.” One of them said.
After a few minutes the doctor gave me some medicine and the pain went away, it was just to ease the pain during the contractions I think, because after a while it started to wear off. Then about thirty minutes after the medication wore off, it was time to push. I had to remember to breathe. Tony was holding my hand the whole time, and I was squeezing it and screaming bloody murder at the same time, crying because of the pain.
“I can't do it!” I said. “I'm exhausted!”
Tony grabbed a hold of my hand and looked at me.
“Suck it up, and push that baby out.” He told me.
Listening to him, I gave my hardest push, and our baby was born!
“It's a girl.” The doctor said.
“You were right.” Tony said, kissing me on the forehead.
“Mother's intuition.” I said, finally relaxing.
The doctors asked what we were going to name her, which we replied Violet. She was born on September 5th.

Tony's POV
It was September, and Carolina was a few weeks before her due date. I was in the kitchen making breakfast and she was watching her current favorite movie, 'What to Expect When You're Expecting'. I watched it with her a few times too, but I don't see how she can watch it over and over again. When the pregnant fitness trainer in the movie, I think her name was Jules, Julia, something like that, was giving birth, Carolina asked me if it was going to hurt that bad.
“Not unless you get the epidural.” I replied.
She said she wanted to feel pain for our child, which I'm pretty sure she would regret saying as soon as she went into labor, which she did later that day. She called me into the living room and her feet were up on the couch while she was sitting on a chair drinking some water, then told me to get the bag. That's when I knew it was time, she was going into labor. When we were in the hospital she kept having contractions and squeezing my hand.
“Can I at least have some drugs?” She yelled.
The doctor said she would get her some, which he did and the pain went away for a while until she had to push. She was pushing for a good hour, squeezing my hand, screaming and crying.
“I can't do it! I'm exhausted!” She said.
I couldn't believe she was saying this, after how much she wanted a baby, she couldn't do the hardest part of it and bring it into the world? I grabbed her hand and looked her straight in the eye.
“Suck it up, and push that baby out.” I said.
She heard my message loud and clear, giving one final push, our baby was born. Carolina was right, it was a girl.
“What's her name?” The doctor asked.
“Violet.” Carolina replied.

It was September 5th when she was born, a day to remember and celebrate for the rest of our lives.
