Misadventures

You're a Mechanical Bride

Carolina's POV
I was so nervous, about to walk down the aisle. I wasn't alone. Vic and Mike were walking me down there, as crazy as that sounds. Jaime was Tony's best man. It was a small wedding, Shelby's family, all the guys and their families, but I didn't have any of my family, which I was okay with, they were pretty messed up. I was getting ready when Mike and Vic came into the bridal suite.
“Hey.” Vic said smiling.
“We got you something.” He said.
I smiled, standing up, revealing my dress. They were in awe.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Something borrowed, something blue, something old and something new.” Vic said.
I laughed, starting to cry happy tears.
“Okay, what are they?” I asked.
“We got you this blue bracelet, from Carolina actually.” Mike said.
I laughed.
“North or South?” I asked.
He laughed.
“North.” He replied.
“And we wanted to let you borrow this veil, it's also our something old, but it's been in our family for years.” Vic said, putting a veil on my head.
I really started to cry now.
“Man, it's a good thing I'm wearing waterproof mascara.” I said.
They laughed.
“And what's your something new?” I asked.
“This penny.” Vic said.
It was a pretty penny, that was very shiny and brand new.
“Put it in your shoe, facing up of course.” He said.
“Of course.” I replied, taking my shoe off, Vic put the penny in my it.
“Thanks guys, for everything.” I said.
“You're family now.” Mike said.
I gave them a hug, as the Wedding March started to play.
“That's our cue.” Vic said.
They wrapped their arms around mine as I was holding my bouquet of white roses. The doors opened and I saw Tony, looking at me, I wanted to run to him. I started walking down the aisle and then we said our vows. After putting the rings on our fingers we were officially pronounced Husband and Wife! Then we finally kissed! That kiss was unforgettable. We ran down the aisle and had a blast at the after party! Me not being a person who drinks, I suggested sparkling cider, way before the wedding of course, so the caterers would know to bring some.
“Why don't you drink?” Shelby asked me.
“Because my mom drank and she went a little overboard.” I replied.
She poured out her drink of alcohol and grabbed a sparkling cider.
“I'm sorry to hear that.” She said.
I smiled.
“It's fine.” I replied.
“I'm just so happy I get to spend the rest of my life with this guy!” I said.
“Cheers.” She said.
“Cheers.” I replied, touching our glasses together.
“Okay, time for the couple's dance!” Jaime said through the microphone.
I stood up and went for it. Our dance started off slow then turned into an unexpected hip-hop theme, which surprised everyone. Tony and I sat back down next to Shelby.
“Great job, guys!” She said.
We were totally out of breath.
“Thanks.” Tony said.
After a few hours it was time to go on our honeymoon, in Bora Bora. I might have wanted to spend our wedding night in a castle-like getaway, but I want to spend our honeymoon in paradise.

Tony's POV
I was waiting at the altar with Jaime.
“You nervous, man?” Jaime asked me.
“Just a little.” I replied.
“Um, dude you look like you got ants in your pants. Calm down.” He said.
I took a few deep breaths and finally calmed down when I heard the Wedding March. I saw the doors open and I saw Carolina in a beautiful dress, and I smiled. We said our vows and were pronounced Husband and Wife! I grabbed Carolina and pulled her close to me and looked her in the eyes, and as she smiled, we kissed. We ran down the aisle to where the after party was going to be and met everybody there. I was chilling with the guys drinking some champagne, as they were all congratulating me I noticed Jaime was gone.
“So how does it feel, to be a husband?” Vic asked.
I took a drink of the champagne.
“I don't know, I've only been one for like an hour, Vic.” I replied.
“Hey, where did Jaime go?” Mike asked.
“Okay, time for the couple's dance!” Jaime said through the microphone.
“Well, there's your answer, go get 'em buddy.” Vic said, patting me on the back.
Putting my champagne down, I took off my tux, showing my vest and tie. I met Carolina on the dance floor.
“Let's do this.” I said.
“Let's.” She replied.
We started dancing off slow, like a usual wedding dance, but the song we chose took a turn and we did a hip-hop choreographed dance. After the dance Carolina and I were out of breath and we sat down with Shelby, who I had met on the plane.
“Great job, guys!” She said.

Gasping for air I said thanks. Then it was time for us to head to our honeymoon in Bora Bora, which was all Carolina's idea.
