We'll Start A New Revolution

I'm At The Edge Of The World

Vic

We were back on the bus after playing our set through several times. Josh blended with us nicely, and only made a few mistakes, though they would be mostly unnoticeable once we got on stage and fans were screaming at us. I had updated my twitter and told the fans there was going to be a surprise at the shows. They were all chewing at the bit to find out what it was.

I had top bunk, and Mike and Tony were trying, unsuccessfully, to share a bunk. They were both too tall. Josh had the bunk underneath mine, and was already sleeping. I shook my head, smiling, as he emitted yet another snore. He was going to want to get a lot of sleep in the upcoming weeks, but us being, well, us, that wasn't going to happen. We were a very welcoming group, and usually held after show parties, where heaps of people came, friends and strangers alike.

I rolled over in my bunk and called Kellin. He picked up on the first ring, saying excitedly,

'Hi Vic!' I smiled at his eagerness to talk to me and forgot to answer. 'Vic?'

'Oh, sorry Kells. How was your day?' I said, lying on my stomach and tracing patterns in my pillow.

'It's been okay. Evie came over. She's going out hunting tonight without me.' I could envision Kellin pouting as he said this, his full lower lip being exposed and the deep red of the inside of his lip sparkling from the moisture. Evie had become more confident after coming out about her sexuality, and now frequented the bars, usually with Kellin. I didn't mind, he enjoyed picking out girls for her, and wandering around the joint listening intently to conversations and telling her where to go and who to avoid. 'We cooked heaps of fried rice so that we could eat healthily while we're on the road too,' he added happily, 'we made enough for you too.'
'Thanks,' I said, shifting so that I was under the covers. It was cold, and I wish I had Kellin's strong arms wrapped around me. 'Are you heading down on the bus now?'
'Yeah, Justin won't shut up though. I'm not sure if you can hear him or not.' Kellin paused, giving me time to listen to Justin's off-key singing. It was some sort of childish nursery rhyme, and the other members were laughing. The singing got closer and Kellin said,
'Go away,' presumably to Justin. There was a bang, and I heard Justin's voice over the receiver.
'Hey Vicky. How's it going?'
'Fuck off, Just!'
'No, shut up Kellin. You've been hogging Vic for the past three minutes.'
'He's my husband!' A few seconds of silence came and I tried to hold in laughter. 'Justin, just give it here. You'll see him tomorrow.'
'So will you. Bye Vicky!' Justin shouted, the dial tone then being introduced to my ears. I laughed at the effective conversation stopper and looked out at Mike and Tony's bunk. I saw a very unhappy Tony lying with an arm slung out of the bunk, his fingers interlaced with Mike's, who was lying on the bottom bunk, almost asleep. No sounds were coming from Josh's bunk now, and I soon settled into an uneasy sleep, anticipation for Warped overtaking my senses and invading my unconscious state on more than one occasion.

'Wake up, Vicky.' Someone was shaking my shoulder, and I opened my bleary eyes, an inhuman sound coming out of my mouth. 'Vicky,' the voice sung quietly, it's owner once again shaking me. I tried to clear my eyes, and found myself instead staring into Justin's sparkling blue eyes. They weren't as bright as Kellin's, more faded and grey, but enough to give me a shock, especially since he was only an inch from my face. I shot backwards, slamming my back into the side of the bus and knocking my head on the ceiling as I sat up, desperate to get away from the madman. I looked over at him as I rubbed my head, his laughter once again ringing out.
'Vic, are you okay?' Kellin flew around the corner and almost leaped into the bus, his hands out, searching for something to do.
'Fine,' I mumbled, clambouring out of my bunk and giving him a peck on the lips as greeting. I grabbed my clothes and went to the shower, mumbling an "excuse me". After a short shower, I got into my clean clothes - a Key Street shirt, plain skinny jeans and no shoes - and walked back out where Sleeping With Sirens had proceeded to take over our lounge.
Jack had found the Jack and was proceeding to pour everyone a glass, with a quick look at the clock I saw it was past twelve, a perfectly acceptable time to start drinking. Justin was lounging on the booth, his head in Gabe's lap, still singing nonsense to anyone fool enough to listen. Gabe was looking around uncomfortably, trying to move Justin. Jesse was standing next to Jack, encouraging him to pour more into the glasses.
Tony was sitting across from Gabe, smirking at him, while Mike looked longingly at the whiskey. Josh was standing up awkwardly near the door, conversing with Kellin, who was trying to make him feel welcome.
As I walked past Jack, he started handing out the alcohol. Mike eagerly grabbed his, looking at the smooth texture of the drink.
'Drinks for everyone!' Jack said, taking a sip of his.
'Not for Mike,' Tony and I chorused, me swiping Mike's drink out of his hands before he realised what was happening. Mike pouted and lent back against Tony. Tony played with the ends of Mike's hair, saying softly,
'I'm sorry baby. But you overdid it last time.' He leaned down and kissed his forehead, making Mike smile. I took mine and Kellin's drinks in one hand, juggling them poorly, Josh's in the other.
'Who said you could help yourself to the liquor?' Mike asked Jack as I walked away, Jesse laughing in response. Kellin and Josh accepted their drinks as I offered them and we went outside, to enjoy the warm air.
'So, Josh, I see you've met my husband.' I said, shooting a smile at him while wrapping an arm around Kellin and kissing his temple. Kellin stepped out of my embrace and wandered off a little ways, obviously searching for something.
'Yeah, he's nice. All of the others are a bit intimidating.' Josh said, looking down at me. I stifled a laugh, looking at his long, lean frame. He was easily as tall as Mike, maybe taller. I gestured to the ring on his finger, asking a silent question. He didn't seem to have noticed and I gestured once again.
'Do you have a special someone?' He glanced down at his hand and spread his fingers, as though thinking, what's that?
'Oh, yeah...' He trailed off, taking a sip of his Jack. 'I was engaged to someone very special, but they're now... gone. It's just sentimentality, that.' He looked into his glass, following Kellin. I instantly felt bad.
'What are you doing, Kellin?' Josh asked, taking another sip of his alcohol.
'I remember here from a past tour.' He said, having a gulp of his own drink. 'We found a really nice place here.' He went down a beaten down dirt path, scuffing his foot as he walked. I heard the babbling of a brook and my own memories came back. Josh ducked his head under the low hanging branches, more alcohol disappearing down his throat.

Kellin

I walked to the water source, wading in. I looked around in case Vic decided to repay me and toss me in, but he was too busy looking at the dappled floor, while Josh was surveying the serene setting. Vic look a tad bit upset, but I had no clue why.
'Do you remember?' I asked, smiling at him and going back on to dry land.
'Of course,' he replied, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. He leaned in closer, so that we were nose to nose. 'Just like yesterday.' He whispered, placing a peck at the corner of my mouth. I pulled him down and we sat on a rock, our feet in the water, my shoes and socks discarded on the ground next to me. Vic hadn't put any shoes on, and he leaned against me, closing his eyes and letting the soft breeze ruffle his hair.

Title cred: Sleepwalking - Bring Me The Horizon

Comments, please? Opinions would be great right about now. I don't know how long I'm going to make this, so it's all up to you. I've lost quite a bit of interest in this, so yeah. I have ideas, but no motivation to write them.

Oh no, Vic told him the "fictional" story, but Kellin was already dying. He died as the words "what if I told you...' passed Vic's lips. He wasn't listening to Vic. He was thinking of Vic, thus the muttering under his breath. That was him saying Vic's name.

And Mike knew. About Josh.
