Finally Free

I’m Falling...
Falling...
Falling...
I can feel the wind rushing past me
But everything’s in slow motion
I’ve never felt so at home
I’ve never felt so alive
I’m falling to my imminent death and i’ve never had such a rush
I’m happy, finally happy
I know i’m close to the water i can feel it spraying my back comforting me like an old friend.
I’m about to hit the water.
The anticipation is killing me.
And then it happens
*Splash*
I feel pain but it’s comforting
It’s like a thousand pins and needles attacking every spot on my body at once
It’s the most invigorating feeling
In seconds i’ll be dead so i take in every detail of life that i can
I look up and i see a light
Not a heavenly light but the dimmed light of the sun when it hits the water shining through
I feel little bubbles kissing my face
I feel the current pushing me along and then i feel the undertow
It takes me down..down..down..
Whipping my body around
I’m shocked by the aggressiveness and finally open my mouth to take a short breath but water catches in my lungs and i start choking it’s unpleasant but welcomed.
Finally my lungs are full and i wait for darkness to overcome me.
The undertow ceases
Th rapids begin
I brace myself while choking for air
My head hits a rock and blackness surrounds me
Im free
