Tony's POV
I can't believe I'm stuck in this school. Especially with Carter, the one girl Vic can't stand.
I took out my phone to check to see if I had any text messages. My phone wouldn't turn on.
"Dead," I muttered to myself. I groaned then set my head on the wall behind me and started to fall asleep.

~FLASHBACK~

"Cesar, let's go play!" my best friend Michael at the time said to my five year old self. I ran with him to the slide and slid down, yelling for joy. I looked up and noticed a little girl sitting by herself, looking sad. I guess she was new. Being my confident self, I walked over to her. "Hi!" I said to her. She looked up at me. She looked like she had been crying. "I'm Cesar. Wanna come play with me and my friend Michael?" I asked her. She looked down. I guess she was shy.

"What's your name?" Michael asked. She still didn't say anything. She was really shy.

"Imma call you Rose," I said. "You're just as pretty as one!" She blushed and smiled a little then nodded. I guess she liked it. I smiled. She really was beautiful with her beautiful brown hair and eyes. She got up and followed us. She became me and Michael's best friend until we went to different elementary and middle schools. Michael and I went to the same elementary school but he ended up going to a different middle school and we grew apart. He's now one of Carter's best friend's and he can't stand me because of me and the gang.

I never knew her name but I did know a song that always reminded me of her. It was called "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Guns N' Roses. She loved the song, especially when I sang it for her. She would always hum it and sing along a little. She had a beautiful voice. I would love to hear her sing again. But, we never spoke because she never talked. I wanted to find her. I only called her Rose.

~END OF FLASHBACK~

I awoke with a jolt. Why did I just remember that? I got upset. I missed Rose. But why was I thinking about her now?

My stomach growled. After fully awaking after that memory, I got up to walk to the cafeteria. I was hungry now.

"Hey," I said as I entered the cafeteria. I guess Carter didn't hear me because she didn't move her head. She was busy looking in the fridge.

"Hey," I tried again. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. I guess she did hear me.
"What Perry?" she asked. Man, I knew she had beef with me and the gang but dang. She doesn't have to be a bitch.

"I have a lot of reasons to be a bitch Perry," she said. I guess I spoke my thoughts out loud. I scoffed a little then walked up behind her towards the fridge. She walked out with a bag of frozen tater tots. I guess she didn’t hear me.

She screamed then dropped the bag. "Fuck," she muttered. She looked up at me then down. Why did that seem so familiar?

I helped her up. "Thanks," she muttered. She picked up the bag and then brought it to the fryer. She turned it on and waited for the grease to heat up. She poured the bag of tater tots and cooked them. Yum.

She surprisingly let me have some and we sat down to eat. It was an awkward silence until I started humming Rose and I's song. It was stuck in my head.

Carter's POV
We ate in silence, which I was very comfortable in, until he started humming a song. The tune sounded very familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. I hummed along, because for some odd reason, I knew it.

"You know the song?" Tony said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I guess I was humming by myself for a bit.

"Yeah. I mean kinda. I don't know. It sounds familiar but I don't know where," I said, looking down and blushing. I don't have no idea why, but I was all of a sudden, nervous? It was weird.
"It's called 'Every Rose Has It's Thorn'", he said. "I used to sing it all the time for an old friend," he said looking a little upset. I just nodded and continued humming it. The name sounded familiar. I feel like I know it but I don't. I finished eating then put my head down for a bit. I started to dream of someone I haven't seen in a long time…
