a match into water // v.f.

Most stories start out with something cheesy like "once upon a time" or something as boring as "in the beginning". My story could very well start out like that, but it won't serve the rest of it justice. For this story, we skip through the boring stuff and throw the thought of cute fluffy moments out the window.

This story starts with falling. I was stuck in this thick, impenetrable darkness that never seemed to end or ever begin. I tried to scream but no sound could be heard. I tried to reach out to hold on but all I found was air. There's was nothing out in front of me other than this darkness that swallowed me whole. I was stuck. Trapped. Alone in a never ending space with no way out alive.

Then there was a spark. A small, tiny spark that soon set my whole world on fire. There were colors, pictures, a scene, a face; something else besides this empty black void. I was no longer stuck here, I could be free and live in a world where I never had to worry about anything ever again.

And that was when I woke up.

Happy Misadventures release day! This is up a lot later than I had originally anticipated (oops), but I thought that with the new album coming out today, putting up the new version of this story seemed fitting! Like I've already stated, this rewrite is going to stay similar to the first draft, but this time, I'm sticking a lot closer to the actual timeline/events of the time period of which A Match Into Water takes place and also just revamping the plot so it's not as cringey to read. I have a lot more plans for the story as well, and I can't wait to unveil them to you all! I'm also almost out of school too, so with less works to do, hopefully I can get more consistent updates in. If not, then be prepared for the summer when I'll actually have time to write and not just focus on my school work.

Anyways, I think that's all I have to say for this author's note here. I'm really sorry for how short this is, the first chapter was supposed to be uploaded with this part, but I've recently lost the majority of the work I've done on it, so hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to rewrite what I had. Hope you guys enjoy what is to come!
