*Sarah’s P.O.V*
Stella didn’t wake until the next day and by the time, there was Jaime, Ruby, Vic, Tony and I asleep and waiting for her to wake. When she did, she really didn’t know what had happened or what was going on and I was really worried that she wasn’t going to remember anything and the process was going to have to start again.

Her first word was Jaime. Just Jaime. He rushed over, told her that he was here and that everything was all going to be okay. Which, when the right time comes, the doctor is going to mention that her life is short.

This is going to destroy me, to hear the doctor say those type of words again. I am going to hate the reaction she gives off. This really is such a stressful time in my life and what is going to happen when I don’t have a sister anymore.

As Jaime was calming Stella down, the doctor walked in and asked if everyone could leave the room. I couldn’t leave, that’s just madness. I walked up to the doctor and tapped him on the shoulder.

‘Excuse me, no. We will not leave. We all have a right to be here.’ I said. The doctor looked at me in shock. He nodded his head in a way that said that he didn’t care if we stayed or not.

‘Stella. I have some news. After all that has happened, with your accident and now the seizure, things aren’t too good.’ He paused for a second.

‘Tony, can you take Ruby out the room please.’ Stella said as she looked to him. He nodded his head and walked to pick her up. I rushed over and scooped her up.

‘I’ll do it. Tony you stay.’ I said as I rushed out the room.

We were in the hallway of the room and all was calm until I heard Stella scream with cries. She just screamed as if she was in pain as if she was dying. Which she was. I rocked Ruby around to distract her from her mother’s breaking heart.

*Vic’s P.O.V*

The doctor mentioned that she had a short time to live. Stella broke down. She just screamed, and screamed as the tears rolled down her face. Her screams provided a chilling feeling down my back.

Jaime was up on the bed with her, holding her to his chest as he rocked her, trying to calm her down. The girl I meant in high school has just been told that she has a short amount of time to live and that breaks my heart so much.

I stood at the back of the room, away from everyone as I stared at my best friends crying on a hospital bed. My vision had become blurry with tears and I had to leave the room. I walked into the hall and saw Sarah with Ruby, she saw me and I just wiped my tears away.

‘Vic, you are allowed to cry.’ She said as she put her spare arm around my body. Her comforting back rub made me break down and I just cried for what seemed life ages.

‘Uncle Vic. Why are you sad?’ Ruby questioned and it broke my heart even more.

‘I am sad because…’ I said but Sarah interrupted. ‘He isn’t feel well baby. I am not feeling well either. It is okay to cry; it is defiantly okay to cry. You can cry all you want.’ She said before breaking down. We just stood there and cried.

Tony eventually come out of the room and his eyes were red and puffy but he just walked over and took Ruby from Sarah’s arms. He hugged us before returning to the room.

*Tony’s P.O.V*

I walked into the room and placed Ruby on the bed with Stella and Jaime. They have decided that it was the right thing to tell Ruby what was happening, in a way she could understand.
Vic and Sarah walked in and stood next to me. They held my hands as we watched this heartbreaking moment occur.

‘Hey mummy. How are you feeling?’ Ruby asked.

‘Mummy isn’t well baby. Mummy is sick.’ Stella said.

‘You can cry mummy. That is what Aunty Sarah said. It is okay to cry when you are not well.’ She replied.

‘Ruby, mummy is sick and may not be here very long.’ Jaime said.

‘Where is she going?’ Ruby said. She looked so lost and confused about the entire situation.
‘She is going to the clouds.’ Jaime mentioned.

‘Are you coming back?’ She questioned. She looked at her mum, hoping.

‘I don’t think I will be darling. I will be watching you though. And every time you look up at the clouds in the sky, I will be there.’ Stella replied.

‘So you aren’t coming back?’ Ruby asked again.

‘No. but you will be with Aunty Sarah, Uncle Vic, Uncle Tony and daddy. Grandma and poppy, even Aunty Winter will be with you. They will look after you.’ Stella said.

‘But I want you to look after me.’ Ruby wiped her eyes before she moved towards Stella ever so carefully. ‘I love you mummy and I will miss you. But please don’t go.’ Ruby said before she hugged Stella with her little arms.

‘Jaime.’ Stella said as she looked past Ruby. ‘I love you so much that I want to marry you. I have such a short time and I couldn’t have seen myself with anyone else. I am grateful to have met you. So, will you marry me?’
