“Guys remember that after school you’re getting picked up by your grandma.” I announced as I pulled up in the school parking lot.
“Are we staying at nana and tata’s house again?” I heard a soft voice coming from the seat behind me and I turned around to face my daughter.
“Yes.” I heard a groan from the left side and I saw my son shaking his head. “Why do we have to stay there? Why can’t we stay home?”
“Because I’ll be busy. I have a lot of stuff to do tonight. It’s just for one night Julian.”
“Mom when is dad coming home?” Layla asks. I stare at the twins in the backseat making my heart hurt a little at the sight of them. They looked so much like their father and it made me miss him so much more.
“Real soon.” I said and turned back to the steering wheel. I see Jess walk in front of my car and I wave at her before taking off my seatbelt. “Look Adrian and Alexa are here.” I told the kids and wait for them to gather their things and get out of the car before I do the same.
“Hey girl.” Jess says as she approaches us. “Adrian can you take your little sister to class?” She tells her son and he nods before taking the little girl’s hand in his.
“You guys be good.” I tell the group of kids before they all run off towards the school. “Man where did the time go?”
“I know right! It seems like it was just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant and now Alexa is going on six and your twins are going so be seven in a couple of weeks!”
“I wish they could stay small, they are growing up so fast.” I say giving her a pout. I notice her doing the same making us both laugh as she looked at me.
“How are you holding up?”
“You know, you’d think I’d get used to it by now but it still kills me when I turn around in the middle of the night and find his side of the bed empty.”
“I know I really miss Jaime.”
“I’m just glad we have each other, you know going through the same thing. I don’t know how I would have managed without you there.”
“Aw the feelings are mutual.” Jessica said before bringing me in for a hug.
“Well I got to go; I have a lot of stuff on my plate with all the planning and work.”
“Good thing your boss let you work at home for the meantime.”
“I know. That’s the only thing going for me at the moment.”
“Well I’ll see you later!”
“Bye Jess.” I waved at my best friend and got back into my car. I pulled out of the elementary school as soon as the car was on and started to go through my to-do list in my mind as I drove back home. I let out a sigh and gripped on to the steering wheel. I had so much to do in very little time. I felt the tension start to build up on my shoulders and I focused on the road so I wouldn’t get overwhelmed. I turned into my street and pulled into my garage moments later. I stepped out of the car as soon as it was off and shuffled to the door. I hit the garage button to close the door and stepped inside the quiet house. I dropped the car keys on the counter and I went directly up the stairs. I stopped at the den at the end of the stairs and went to my desk. I picked up the stack of papers I had from work and scanned them, already feeling drained. I could really use a bubble bath. I brought my head back and let out a sigh at the thought knowing I had to get right to work. I grabbed a hold of my chair and was about to pull it back when I felt a kiss on my neck making me freeze at the unexpected touch.
“Why are you so tense?” I heard a voice whisper in my ear as they continued to kiss me, moving down to my shoulder. I felt his arms wrap around my waist bringing a smile to my face before turning around to face him. I catch sight of his colorful tattoos peeking out of his tank and see him give me one of his famous grins.
“You’re home!” I yell in excitement as I wrap my arms around his neck. “I thought your flight was not for another couple of days.”
“I wanted to surprise you.” He said before showering me with kisses. “I missed you babe.”
“I missed you too.” I said in between each kiss before I felt him pick me up in his arms. “Tony!” I yelled as he led me to our room and placed me on the bed. He quickly took off his tank and hovered over me, making me giggle. He smacked his lips on mine and started kissing me as he tried to take off my shirt.
“Tony I-“ I started to say in between each kiss. “-need to get to work.” He continued kissing me, ignoring what I just said and went straight to unbutton my pants. He started to pull them down my legs and I helped him by shimming out of them even though I couldn’t do this right now, as much as I wanted to. He quickly takes off his shirt and continues kissing me, getting the spots that he knew I loved. I move my hands down from his chest and start to unbutton his shorts as quickly as I could before I changed my mind. As soon as they go loose I pull them down with his underwear and hear them hit the floor. I hear a chuckle by my ear and feel Tony move my legs as he’s about to adjust himself. He starts to massage my thighs, getting me ready and that’s when the phone rings. I hear the ringtone to my cellphone play where my pockets were thrown at on the floor and I try to ignore it as much as I can but I can tell it was bothering Tony. The phone turns off and I feel Tony about to enter my fold when the house phone rings this time.
“Ugh!” Tony groans loudly but he tries to ignore it as much as possible as he starts kissing my body. The phone stops ringing but I hear the answering machine turn on.
“Melodee, hi it’s Brian. You’re probably busy filming right now but I just wanted to remind you of your deadlines. Please don’t forget about your blog post and the rough draft you were going to show me for your story. Thank you.”
“Shit! What time is it?” I tilt my head back and see that it is almost twelve which meant I had little to no time to get ready to film. I moved away from Tony before he wanted to continue and I saw him pout.
“Come on Mel. I just got back and the kids are away.” He said as he lay down beside me.
“I’m sorry Tony I need to get back to work.” I sat up from bed in search of my clothes.
“Screw work babe.” He said as he pulled me back and held onto my body. “I’ll provide for us.”
“That’s sweet but you know how much this job means to me. There are people depending on me.”
“You’re amazing you know that but you so owe me.” I turned around to face him and gave him a big kiss on his lips and winked at him.
“The kids are staying at my parents so as soon as I’m done with work you have me all to yourself.”
“I’m keeping you to your word ok.”
“Alright Tony.” I sat up in bed again and this time brought Tony along with me. “Come help me on today’s video.”
“Ok but first let me take a quick cold shower.” I watched him hurry off to our bathroom as I put back my clothes. Once I was fully dressed I looked at myself in the mirror and fixed my newly tousled hair and fixed my make up so it wouldn’t be obvious that I was making out with Tony not so long ago. When I felt that I looked good enough I walked out of the bedroom and made my way back to my makeshift office in the den and started to set up. I placed my laptop on the table in front of my lamps and went straight to the website the magazine set up for me.
Since I was the one in charge of the advice column I went straight to my messages and read through a few of them as I waited for Tony to come out.
“Ready to go?” Tony said a moment later as he made his way towards me. I patted the seat next to me and got the camera ready. “So what is today’s topic?”
“One that we know very well.” I said as I gave him a quick kiss and turned on the camera to start. I felt him grab my hand as he looked into the camera nervously. I gave his hand a squeeze and smiled at the viewers.
“Hi guys, Melodee here. I’ve been getting tons and tons of requests from you guys to talk about today’s topic- relationships. You guys wanted advice on long distance relationships and how I do it. Today we are doing things a little differently as you can see we have a special guests with us today. So if you have any questions for either of us regarding the topic leave them below and we will help you as best possible, right?” I turned to Tony and he gave me one of his special smiles that always made my heart melt. I felt him give my hand a squeeze and I couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear. He was finally back.
