Slaves To Substance

It started to get hot. Very hot.

"What the hell is going on?!" Tony frantic asked as he looked at me with panicked eyes.

I noticed the room started to get smoky and that's when it hit me.

The hotel had been bombed.

The hotel was in a pit of fucking flames.

I rushed over to the door and kicked it down. My eyes went wide to see half of the motel was blow off, exposing a wide gap as the other Half was engulfed in flames. I coughed at the smoke as my eyes started to water.

"COME ON OUT REIRA. YOU CAN'T HIDE FOREVER." A voice screamed with a snide and obnoxious laugh. It was envy.

"Reira we need to get out of here!" Tony coughed as he placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Envy she's her-" I began, but was cut off by a strong force that pulls me from tony. I was thrown to the ruble infested ground. I peered up to see envy, lust, and gluttony. My eyes widened. Oh my god. .

"Lust. Take care of the boy! Gluttony. Go set that security booth to fucking flames! We can't let the public get to those camera recordings!" Envy directed as she grips me up from ground. I noticed that lust was on the far side down the flaming hall, throwing agile and swift, fast punches at tony. He was dodging them perfectly but, I still prayed that he knew how to throw back a few venomous punches himself. I directed my attention back to envy and landed my foot right into her chest. A small wad of blood left her mouth as she let me go and stumbled back. I landed in a slightly clumsy crouch and stood up.

There was no time to waste. Tony and I need to get the heck out of here and do it fast. I should've seen all of this coming. I quickly rushed over and slammed my fist into envy's jawline. She stumbled sideways and straightened up, she clenched her teeth and pulled out a small dagger and began swinging. I dodged every attempted hit.

"You're. Not. Running. From. Me. this. Time!" Envy growled with each aggressive swing that I dodged. Suddenly, she gripped my shoulder and threw me against the wall. I gasped at the painful burning of my skin as it interacted with the hissing flames. Envy then smirked and slammed the dagger into my left shoulder blade. The pain grew stronger and I coughed up some blood.

"Agh!" I cried out and shoved envy away from me. She stumbled back and came running forward, her fist coming toward my face but, I caught it and pulled her arm down; slamming my knee into her head.

Once envy fell to the ground I rushed over to tony and lust who were going at it, tony was pretty much winning, but he hand a couple of marks on him too. I quickly slammed my fist into lust's chest and plunged my knee Into her stomach. She let out a pained grunt and fell.

"Holy shit rei you shoulder!" Tony coughed as the color in his face drained at the dark colored blood gushing out of my penetrated wound and practically poured down my arm and stained my black shirt. My back was still stinging rapidly and I just want to soak in a tub full of healing ointment right now.

I coughed numerous times and grabbed Tony's hand leading him back into the slowly burning hotel room we were in. I quickly slid open the back door and carefully climbed over the barred ledge and shakily started making my way closer to the slightly big gap that made its way down to two more balconies that lead to the concrete. We were up on the top floor so I had to make sure I'm careful not to slip and fall.

I looked up at tony, "climb over!" I commanded shakily as I coughed some more. The smoke was getting heavier. The flames were getting stronger. We had to get out of here. Now.

Tony climbed over the ledge as soon as I dropped into the gap and climbed over the next ledge, making my way down. He was right behind me. I soon dropped onto the concrete and panted hard and very shakily. Tears slipped from my eyes at the sickening pain as I leaned over and retched some blood onto the hard pavement. My mind stirred.

"Come on Reira!" Tony exclaimed as he grabbed my shaking, heavily bloodstained, and slightly burned hand. We both began jetting to the slightly banged up young man's car. I looked around and saw lust, envy, and gluttony making our way towards us. I picked up two sticks by my foot and walked towards them as fast as I could. Just to hold them back, I kicked envy in the stomach in a hard manor. She fell to the ground. Lust's hard fist slammed into my stomach, making more blood leave my mouth. I gasped and slammed the stick into her left arm. She screamed. Gluttony tried to grab me but, I dodge him and ran the pointy part of the stick across his cheek. He shrieked.

Once I heard the car roar to life, I jogged towards it and quickly slid into the passenger seat. Tony took no hesitation to speed down the empty street afterwards. I leaned forward and let out a small whine as I shakily gripped the handle of the dagger in my shoulder and started to pull at it.

"Ahh..!" I hiss as pull harder and feel more warm blood gush out. I felt the blade slowly start to come out.

"Jesus.." I heard tony whisper very shakily and gulp. I pull even more as the knife makes itself easier And easier to detach.

"Gah!" I yell as I snatch the knife out of my shoulder once it was loose enough. My vision went blurry for a second. I covered my very bloody wound. The pain barely numbed but, exaggeration from it dulled a tiny bit.

"Reira..?" Tony said my name softly and it made me calm down a little.

"I-it h-hurts. ." Was all I could sputter out in a small achy voice. I'd take a broken limb over this any day.

"Sh-should we get to a d-doctor..?" Tony asked shakily. I could feel his eyes on me for a second. I nodded slowly.

"D-Doctor Jonah H-Hall. One forty t-two Cali st-street." I puffed unstably, glancing at tony with weary and dazed eyes. He nodded and drove faster.
