The Hometown

Noortje’s POV

I was relieved that we finally got to leave France. However, something that could maybe be worse was about to come. We were travelling for 2 days and we were just minutes away from my hometown… well I wouldn’t exactly consider it my hometown. I had only lived there for 6 years of my long life (Yes, I know 28 years is not that long… but it’s been the longest I have been alive. Ok, bad joke..). I was the opposite of excited to see my family again. Sure, I had some nice cousins… but that was all really. Wait, no. I also got to see my brother again. This made me perk up a little bit. But if something happens I will up and leave that place. Luckily I will have my 4 best friends to support me.

“Ok guys. We’re almost at the hotel. Just remember to come back to the bus in 5 days. We will leave with or without you. Yes, even you Vic. I guess I’ll just have to fill in for you.” Jay announced and sang a really out of tune note.
Everybody laughed and Vic looked at him with a horrified face, “No way that’s happening. If somebody fills in for me it’s going to be Noortje.”
“Umm… no? Don’t you hear he had the much better voice!” I half joked.
“Whatever.” Vic mumbled
“Wait… Did he just say 5 days!” I suddenly screamed.
“Yeah… Surprise? I figured it would be cool if you showed us around a bit…” Vic said unsure.
“So this is basically a benefit for you… Oh well. If we just don’t stay here all the time. Almost every other cool town is in a 2 hour radius with the train… So guess what mode a transport we will be using!”
“The train?” Mike suggested.
“Yes and I fucking hate the train. I don’t know why, I just do.” I smiled.

I stood up and walked over to mine and Tony’s bunk to collect my last couple of things. Yes, I know what you’re going to ask. What, you and Tony are sharing a bunk again? Yes, yes we did. No, it’s not because there ‘isn’t enough space’ it’s cause it was nice sharing with him. We just automatically went to sharing. The others were also really confused at first, but didn’t question it any further. So I beg you to leave it alone as well. I just enjoyed his company… and I might have been having troubles sleeping without him around…

The bus came to a stop and I looked out to see we had stopped at the hotel. We all grabbed a bag and walked in. Jay went over to the reception to get our rooms. In the meantime the rest of us sat down in the lounge. Mike, Vic, Jaime, and Tony were looking at the people in awe.
I raised my eyebrows at them, “Why so ‘people-watchy’?”
“I don’t get it. There’s business people, but also families and couples.” Jaimes said motioning discreetly to people.
“Welcome to a Dutch hotel.” I put my feet on the coffee table, “Ok, maybe I shouldn’t put my feet on here… I don’t want us to get kicked out… Not that I think it will get us kicked out though…”
“Ok guys. So, we have 3 bedrooms. So you will have to sleep in pairs and one of you will have to stay with me. Only one problem, apparently one of the rooms has a queen-sized bed instead of twin beds. So two of you will have to share a bed, ‘cause there is no way I’m sharing a bed with one of you.” Jay said.
We all looked at each other waiting for someone else to speak up. We took turns staring at one another like this was a duel.
“Ok, why are we doing this?” Tony interrupted, “I mean, Noortje and I already share a bunk, why don’t we just take the queen bed and you can continue to figure out who say with who.”
I nodded, “Yep. And we’re going. I do not need to see them fight for eachother, although it is quite hilarious... “

Tony and I grabbed our bags and left the others without another word. We entered the lift and looked at each other before bursting out with laughter. I don’t know why we were laughing, but I also didn’t care. The elevator door opened and we tried to compose ourselves in time. On the other side stood 2 business men. They looked at us weirdly. We walked past them and I politely said ‘Hallo’, they nodded back and entered the elevator. As soon as the door closed Tony and I cracked up again.

“Shh!” I said through giggles.
We continued down the hallway with occasional snickering. There were cone shaped lamps placed every two doors. They created odd shadows and illuminated the place with a yellow glow. I looked up at Tony and he looked down at me.

“Umm… this is our room.” Tony mumbled still looking at me.
I nodded and didn’t break eye contact. We entered the room still staring at each other. I eventually noticed what we were doing and quickly averted my eyes.
“I think I’m going to take a shower and then go to bed, if you don’t mind.” I murmured.
I placed my bag down and grabbed my toiletries. Tony was watching my every move from the bed. Normally I would feel uncomfortable, but for some reason if felt safe this time. I disrupted Tony’s glance by closing the door to the bathroom. For the first time in a long time I didn’t feel the need of checking the lock 10 times before stepping into the shower.

Tony’s POV

I couldn’t help but stare at Noortje. She was so beautiful. I was no longer denying my feelings and they kept getting stronger day by day. Noortje entered the bathroom and I was left to look at the wooden door. I rested my head against the headboard of the bed and smiled to myself. I could definitely imagine a future with her. First she would move to my room, then we would get married. Maybe we would even have some kids running around…

“Why are you grinning like a madman?” Noortje laughed.
“Nothing… I was just thinking…” No Tony, now is not the time. She probably doesn’t like you in the same way anyway, “Nevermind.” I sighed.
“Ok? You know you can always talk to me right?” She reassured.
“Yea I know. Which reminds me, we still have to talk about what happened in France.” I patted the bed next to me.
“Oh… I just couldn’t believe he had the nerve to interview us. He probably knew I was with you guys. I just couldn’t take his bullshit anymore.” She started the get angry.
“Don’t worry, I took care of it.”
She looked up at me with wide eyes, “What did you do?!?”
“He said he was still going to release the interview. I may or may not have punched him. The interview is still getting released though… But it felt good hurting him back. I’m sorry that the whole fandom will know about the rape now though…”
She grinned, “You really punched him?”
“Yea, you’re not upset?”
“No! Of course not! And about the interview getting released, I honestly don’t care. There’s probably tonnes of our fans that also have been raped. It will let them know they are not alone.”
I smiled, “You always seem to find the bright side of things.”
“Hmm… It’s my job.”

I slid down so I was laying down and pulled Noortje with me. I held her close to me. She wriggled loose and turned around.
“No! Come back!” I whined.
“I’m just turning off the light, silly.” She turned back around and kissed my cheek.
We got comfortable and eventually fell asleep.

Notes

This chapter is kinda short. But I expect the next one to be a bit longer.

@Nickyvlxx
Hahaha, thank you. You can totally see how my writing has developed in this story; the first chapters are written so bad. I'm excited for our story as well.

Yaaaaay I read it all! I finished it! I loved it, babe. You're an amazing writer and I'm happy I get to work together with you :) ♡

@Nickyvlxx
Thank you so much. I remember writing chapter three when I was in a really weird mood; I was so confused about everything. I'm Dutch as well, but (as I recall you saying somewhere at the beginning of the story; I have a really weird memory for weird things) English is my first language because I've been speaking it a lot more than Dutch since I was very young. But this wasn't the reason I chose to make her Dutch, I wanted something European and put some random countries in a hat (well, on a website, but same thing) and it came out. So yay!

I have read 3 chapters now and I honestly love it! You have a beautiful writing style and the story is really unique! I also kind of relate to Noortjes feelings. I have the same problems with reality. And I like it a lot that she is dutch because I am too :p

I'M STILL READING!!
