The Boy Who Could Fly

After everything that's been going on, after almost ten years of calling this place my home, I was finally going back to the place that was my true home in my heart. I'm kinda afraid to go back, I'm different, broken in a way, everyone was gone my closest friends forgot about me. Kai, my cousin, was the only one that I spoked to, he tells me that Vic and Mike still talk, they hardly hanging out since middle school, but like I said they still talk, but the other two drifted away, the popular cliche of all high school lives, I guess everyone changes. I dreaded walking into that school with Kai, hoping none of them notices me.
I got off the plane and walked through the gate, to get to baggage claim, I smiled seeing a huge sign saying "Welcome Home Char!" I seen my Aunt Rosa and Kai standing there waiting, I ran to them jumping into his arms, "Jeeze Kidd, I missed you!" He said to me, "Aw I missed you to Kailin" I said to him smiling he hates it when I used his full name. "Welcome home Charlie." My aunt said to me, I hugged her "It feels good to be home Auntie" I said to her, "Let's get your stuff and go home." She said to me, I nodded, and went to claim my bags, and went outside to the car, the heat hit my face, oh how I missed the heat.

We made it out to San Diego from the LAX, my hometown, it's odd how everything still kinda looks the same but it has changed alot. We finally pulled up to a little two story house. I remember coming over everyday, we got out and Kai helped with my bags "Well, you get your old room back Char" Kai said going up the stairs, I smiled remembering that I had my own room, cause I always stayed the night here, which was every weekend, we got to the white door, and went inside, everything was updated, they must've redecorated before I came, there was a bigger bed pushed against the wall, my same closet, and a little desk in the corner, I walked to it cause of a picture frame on it, I picked it and smiled then frowned, it was an old picture with six little kids on it, Me, Tai, Vic, Mike, Tony and... Jaime.
After everything happened during middle school, on that phone call, I should've tooken my own advice, and been truthful, but I confessed everything to him anyways, I'm so lame, dumb childhood crushes, God I was pathatic. Well I just hope I don't see him, or anyone else in at school.

"Yea, sur you guys can come over.. okay, yea I'll see ya" I heard Kai say, I went into his room, "shit I guess I should've asked you" He said as i sat on his bed. "It's okay" I shrugged, "who is it?" dreading already who he was going to say. "Vic and Mike" he replied, I nodded my head.
We sat on the bed in his room, just catching up, found out he has a girlfriend, he was writing music, and playing guitar more, we had music playing and one of my favorite song played "Iris" i sang along to it, "You should be a singer Char" Kai said I shrugged and smiled "maybe and we could start a band" I said sticking my tonge out at him "Kailin Victor and Michael are here" I giggled at my aunt who still called them by there whole name, Kai laughed too, and got up to go downstairs, maybe I can make it back to my room so they won't see me, soon as I got to the door, I heard voices coming up, "shit" I said to myself, I ran back to the bed and picked up my phone to change to a different song, "Hey" I siad looking up when they walked in, my god Vic and Mike changed... alot, "uh hey, Tai we didn't know you had a friend over" Mike said winking his eye, I rolled mine and thought "Great he's a flirt" Vic just stared at me, "I'm Mike" He said holding his hand out, I shook it and smiled, Kai walked up to me and whispered "You can tell them now or wait a bit." I smiled letting him know I was going to tell them. "Uh, this unpolite kid is my older brother Vic" Mike said placing an arm over his shoulder, I looked at Tai, "I know who you guys are" I said pulling my hair behind my ear, "you do?" Mike asked, they both gave me confused looks, "you, idiots, has she changed that much?" Tai said standing next to me, Mike more confused as ever as Vic looked at me and smiled again, he came up to me and pulled me into a hug and gently let go "Charlie." He said finally, Mike looked at his brother then back to me, I seriously haven't changed that much, I still have the same hair, only different is that I had gauges, a tattoo on my wrist, and a nose piercing, oppostie of Vic's.
"Is it really you Char?" Mike asked, looking at me closer then finally pulling me into a hug "yes Mikey, it's really is." I relpied back, "Holy Shit! CharChar is back!" he said. Vic just stared at me, he looked shock and confused, "Okay, Fuentes spill it, why are you staring at me like that?" I said to him "oh, sorry Charlie, it's just... I thought you were never coming back?" He said, I looked at him "Jaime told you guys didn't he?" I asked "Yea, he did, we told him that he should've waited to go up there." He replied "So you guys know that I was an idiot for telling him." I sighed and walked out, "Charlie, wait!" Kai yelled to me, I just ignored him, and went to my room, I laid down, and instantly fell asleep.
