The pact

Salvation

I didn’t lose my virginity that day, but I did a few days later. After we got back together, Vic had practically lived here and as we had the entire house to ourselves, it was doomed to happen very soon.
It wasn’t like in the movies, because that’s not how these things work. It was the most awkward thing I had ever done. Neither of us knew what do or how to do it. It sounds so easy in sex ed class, but it was so different in real life.
Yeah technically we knew what to do, but how did we do it so it felt nice? How fast did we need to go? What do we say to each other? And what about foreplay?
It startled us that there was so much we didn’t know, but eventually we got out of it together. It wasn’t amazing, definitely not for me. It hurt and the awkwardness of us both was a big turn off and I don’t think it was as good for him as it could’ve been.
But you can’t be good at something the first time you do it and that is what we kept in mind. It was like this for everyone and definitely if both parties were virgins.
Instead of making us drift apart, it actually made us a lot closer. I loved him with all my heart and that’s exactly why I didn’t regret any second of it. It was perfect, because it was with him.
But now it had been five days after we made up, the morning after we had sex, and I only now realized how utterly happy I had been the last few days. We didn’t fight once and nothing went wrong. I had almost forgotten about the trouble that was waiting on me when my parents would come back home. I had almost forgotten about the missed job opportunity. The last few days had been like living on a pink cloud. Dreamy and far away from real life.
I leaned on my elbow and looked down at a sleeping Vic. I was so happy I hadn’t lost him over this. It showed how strong we actually were. It was so funny how we both had been so afraid of it, but in the end it didn’t really matter. I should’ve known that being with Vic was the way I wanted to lose my virginity and that how didn’t matter to me.
I fell back in my pillow and my thoughts wondered back to the last few days.
A few days ago we had called Jaime and Tony over for a movie night. After we told him that we were back together, Jaime said: “Thank god. I don’t think I could’ve handled more crying from neither of you.” He said and he let out a deep breath.
I punched his arm and he looked at me with an offended look on his face. “I was kidding.” He said. “You actually hit hard for a girl, you know?”
I crossed my arms over each other and raised my eyebrows. “I know. That was not a nice joke. You deserved it.” I said with attitude.
Vic threw his arm over my shoulder and pressed a kiss on my cheek. “That’s my girl.” He said grinning. It made me blush and roll my eyes at the same time.
Since that night, Tony and Jaime came over every night, but during the days Vic and I had had the whole house to ourselves. Mostly we just ended up cuddling, watching a movie or I watched him play guitar. But during one day we somehow ended up playing tag in the garden. How? I have no idea, we were just crazy like that. During that game I actually tripped over a stone and fell with my face in the dirt.
I immediately started laughing but because I was facing the ground, Vic thought I was crying. “Oh my god, Luna! Are you okay?” he had asked and he slowly turned me around in the grass.
I dragged my hand over my face and a whole lot of dirt came off. “I tripped.” I said laughing hysterically.
Vic shook his head and wiped a bit of dirt off my face. “I noticed.” He said and he put his finger on my lip. “You’ve got something there. Let me get it off.”
I smirked at his smooth remark and didn’t do anything to stop him when he kissed my lips. I threw my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me, so he was now hovering over me and I was lying on the ground. Our heads were surrounded by daisies that popped up between the grass and the sun shone down on us giving our hair a golden glow.
When he pulled away he cringed a little. “You taste like dirt.” He said.
I grinned at him. “Really? How could that be?” I said sarcastic.
The only thing which we actually left the house for was to get groceries. Which I actually hated to do, but it was a bit more fun when Vic was with me. We tried to make it fun, because we both hated to do it. Our ‘fun’ mostly led to shopping cart races through the aisles and we were almost sent out of the shop because of it. How were we supposed to know that it’s forbidden to do shopping cart races? It wasn’t our intention to hit over that bottle of wine! They should make those shopping carts more stable.
I shook my head and got back to the here and now. I looked beside me and saw that Vic was still in the same position as a few minutes ago, before I dreamed off.
I leaned down and kissed him on his forehead to softly wake him up. He stirred and slowly opened his eyes. “Should I make you breakfast now? Is that how it works?” he joked and I chuckled.
“If you want to, you can.” I said and I traced my thumb over his cheek.
“I will later.” He said with his still a bit raspy voice. He pulled me into his arms and I laid my head down on his chest. For some reason it didn’t feel uncomfortable to cuddle while we were naked. I guess we had lost all our embarrassment towards each other. Probably because we had hit a peak at things being awkward last night.
I chuckled a bit at the thought. He pressed a kiss on my cheek. “Why are you laughing?” he asked and he grinned at me.
“I was just thinking about last night.” I said still chuckling.
He busted out laughing. “Yeah, that was pretty funny. If it was filmed, it would’ve won an Oscar for best comedy.” He said.
I laughed. “It really did suck a lot.” I said. “but we’ll get better at it sometime.”
He laughed. “True” he said and he kissed me on my cheek again. When he pulled back his lips remained close to my ear. “I can’t wait to practice.”
His breath felt warm on my skin, but it still caused shivers to go over it. I felt a smile creep on my face. “That was very smooth, Mr. Fuentes.” I said and I pressed my lips against his.
He deepened the kiss and before I knew it I was straddling him while still kissing him.
He pulled back to regain his breath and I felt a smile form against my lips.
Just when I wanted to continue the kiss, I heard a car stop in front of the house. I hurried out of the bed and ran to the window. I pulled the curtain to the side a little and saw the familiar car of my parents stop in front of the house. “Shit! They’re home!” I screeched and I dropped the curtain like it was made of fire. “Get dressed! We need to get out of here!”
I picked up some random articles of clothing that were scattered across the floor and threw the ones that were Vic’s towards the bed. “Fuck! How are we gonna do that?” He asked and I stopped doing what I was doing, realizing I had no idea.
“My parents will first get all the luggage out of the car before they come inside. That will give us time to get dressed. When they come inside, we’ll climb out of the window and make a run!” I said as I put on my underwear.
“But-”
“No but! If you don’t want to get your ass kicked by my dad, I suggest you do as I say.” I said and he started dressing himself as well.
We had timed it perfectly. We heard the door open exactly at the moment that Vic pulled his shirt over his head. I opened the window and stepped through it, putting my feet on the fence beneath me.
“Luna?!” I heard my dad yell from downstairs. He didn’t sound too happy. I would deal with that later I guess.
My feet hit the ground and Vic started to get himself through the window. He was standing on the fence when he moved his head towards the house. “I hear someone on the stairs!” He said fearful.
“Well, hurry up then!” I hissed with a bit impatience. Eventually he also jumped on the ground and I immediately grabbed his hand, running off in a random direction.
Vic let me drag him to whatever we were going to and I felt a bit more energy go through me knowing that he was here. We passed several streets I knew on our way, but I didn’t really pay attention to them.
“To my house!” Vic said, and he sounded out of breath.
“I thought your parents weren’t home?” I asked and I slowed down a bit, suddenly feeling my lunges burning.
“Yeah, but we can get my car.” Vic said and he squeezed my hand. “You know you need to talk to them sometime, you know?”
I tried looking away from him as he looked my way. “Yeah, I know. I just hoped to postpone it for a little bit longer. I first want to close off these amazing few days. I want to give it a worthy end.” I said.
Vic nodded. He knew that with the arrival of my parents, basically every single problem came back at me. From the moment I would go back and face them, we would fall of the pink cloud we had been drifting on for so long. “So where do you want to go then?” He asked.
I didn’t have to think about that long. “I want to go to the beach. I have lived in California for almost a year now and I haven’t ever been at the beach.” I said.
Vic grinned. “The beach it is.” He said.
We reached his house and headed for the red car that stood in front of it. Then suddenly a cab came into view and stopped in front of the house. Mike stepped out of the cab and shot us a wide smile.
He came running to us and hugged us both at the same time. We both got crushed a bit by him. He was way longer than us. “I see you succeeded.” He grinned as he looked at me.
I looked at Vic and then back at Mike. “It took a while, but after a while his stubbornness gave in.” I said smiling.
Vic rolled his eyes and blushed. I knew he was ashamed of the drama he had caused. Although I was mad at him for it at first, now I knew he was sorry, I didn’t mind anymore. I had done my fair share of stupid stuff too.
“How was your flight?” Vic asked Mike.
Mike pouted. “Sad. I already missed Casey on my flight.” He said. His voice sounded humorous, but I knew it really hurt him. I felt sorry for him and Casey. I silently cursed the distance between them. Why couldn’t people just teleport from place to place? That needed to be invented soon!
Then the cab driver started yelling at Mike that he had to pay, so Mike hurried back and gave him some money. The cab drove off and Mike stood there with his suitcase.
“We’re heading to the beach. Want to join?” Vic asked. “You don’t need to get changed, we’re going like this too.” Of course we would. For swimwear I actually had to go back to my house and that would be a mistake right now.
A smile crept on his face. “Damn, I haven’t been there for ages! We should take a soccer ball with us!” he said. “By the way, you guys don’t mind that I’m ruining your romantic date to the beach, right?”
Vic looked at me and I shrugged. “No not at all. We can even pick up Jaime and Tony on our way there. Knowing them, they won’t have anything better to do anyway.” I said.
Mike and Vic laughed a similar laugh. They didn’t look alike a lot, but at moments like this you could see they were related. Little things like how they laughed or the way they adjusted their snapbacks showed their shared blood.
Mike put his suitcase inside the house and then we headed off to Jaime’s and Tony’s place. Just like I expected, they were bored and were both equally happy that we gave them something to do.
On the highway on our way to the beach I got a weird thought in my head. We really seemed like some sort of weird family. Me and Vic sat in the front of the car, Vic behind the wheel and me in the passenger’s seat. In the backseat were Mike, Jaime and Tony who were all enthusiastically asking how long it would be until we were there. Vic and I had to silence them all the time, which made us seem like we were the parents and they were the hyper children.
“And we can set up goals with sticks!” Mike said enthusiastically and the rest loudly agreed.
“I’m so gonna beat you, Mike.” Jaime said with attitude.
“You don’t even know if we’ll be in different teams!” Mike said.
“Well, here by I’ll tell you that I’ll be in the winning team and you’ll not.”
“How long until we get there, Vic?” Tony asked a little annoyed. “I don’t think I can spent much more time in a car with these dipshits.” He definitely had the roll of big brother, which was weird, because Mike was actually older.
Mike and Jaime looked offended, but Vic spoke before they could say anything. “Yes! We’re almost there! Now stop asking me and be quiet. I’m talking to all of you. You’re getting on my nerves.” He said and he let out a loud groan.
I chuckled and quickly patted his thigh. “Easy darling. Let the kids be happy for a minute.” I said in my most motherly voice.
The annoyed look on Vic’s face quickly disappeared and he let out a laugh.
Soon after that, we stopped at the parking lot. I could already see a lot of people wearing swimwear and I could even see a guy carrying a boom box. It was how beaches had been in movies. In England beaches had been those cold, windy places , but here it was sunny and warm with a pleasant, fresh wind.
I stepped out of the car and took in the massive grounds of soft looking, white sand. It connected with the pacific ocean, which seemed to be a bright color of blue. Palm trees were scattered over the place.
An infinite feeling came over me. I felt like I wanted to run towards the see and fall in it. And maybe that was just what I needed to do right now. “The last who’s in the ocean is a rotten egg!” I yelled in a childish voice.
I heard Mike asking: “Is she actually serious?” just after I took off and started running.
Running over sand was quite hard, because I kept slipping away and the way to the beach seemed shorter than it actually was.
When I was half way there, I already saw Tony and Jaime nearing me, followed by Mike and Vic. I turned my face to the ocean again and forced myself to run a bit faster. I wasn’t going to lose.
I reached the muddy part of the sand and took off my shoes. I stepped into the water and jumped a little at the temperature of the water. It was freezing! But soon I adjusted to the cold water.
Seconds later Jaime and Tony tied and splatters flew around them as they ran my way. I raised my hands up to protect my face from the water, but I got wet anyway. I didn’t even mind it. Adrenaline was rushing through my body and I felt like I could take on the world. It was probably a mix of the running, this place and being here with my four favorite people in the world.
I looked at the beach and saw Mike and Vic doing their best to not be last in the race. Vic tried really hard, it was readable in his face, but Mike ran it with ease. With his long legs as advantage, Mike won the race with easily.
He threw up his arms in the air as he ran into the water, splattering it around. I looked up and saw Vic trying to regain his breath on the side. It looked adorable to be honest.
“Hey, rotten egg!” I shouted and giggled. People were looking weird at us, but I didn’t care. Everyone could see our happiness for my part.
Vic looked up and squinted his eyes at me and then marched into the water. I saw that he was going to run towards me, so I busted out laughing and started running the opposite direction. I heard him near me and I tried to speed up, but tripped and my whole body fell into the bright blue water. As I was under I saw the sun shine through the water and reflect underneath it in different directions. It looked beautiful.
I got my head my head above the surface again, but leaned with my hands on the ocean floor, so everything down my chest was still in the water. I shook my head trying to get rid of the water and heard four different laughs echo in my ears.
I opened my eyes and saw tears of laughter roll over Vic’s voice. He didn’t even try to hold it back and I didn’t blame him for it. But as he was distracted, I grabbed his hand. “C’mon in, the water is wonderful.” I said as I dragged him forward and he also fell into the water.
As he came up again, his hair was stuck to his face, so I traced it out away, still laughing. He seemed to find it funny too. I looked behind him and saw that the guys were busy splashing each other with water. They would be distracted for a while I guess.
So I looked into Vic’s eyes and leaned in, eventually kissing his salty lips. It felt weird, but there was something about it that I liked. It was soft and beautiful.
We pulled back and he let out a short chuckle. “What?” I asked, keeping my lips close to his.
“Sometimes it feels like you’re not real and you’re just a dream. I don’t care as long as I don’t wake up.” He said softly, his voice sounding like sweet symphonies to my ears.
At that moment, I had felt like nothing could go wrong. I felt like this happiness, this intense happiness, could last forever.
And he, he seemed perfect. He had always seemed perfect to me, but now I felt like I only wanted to hold him for the rest of my life. I knew perfectly well that every first love ended and that every teenager felt like they would spend the rest of their lives with their partner, but I didn’t care back then. All I cared about was that right then, I wanted to spend forever with him.
I didn’t doubt when I grabbed his face and pushed my lips on his. I felt his hands in my wet hair and I pushed myself closer to him, straddling him underwater. The kiss was a passionate and sweet and it was dripping of love.
I pulled away, still holding his face. “For me it’s the opposite.” I said and he looked confused. “I never knew I was living a nightmare until you woke me up from it.” I said looking into his dark brown eyes, discovering stripes of different colors in his irises.
A smile spread across his face, also reaching his eyes, that were locked on mine. “God, you’re so goddamn beautiful right now.” He said as he traced his left hand over my shoulder to my waist. I looked down at it, only to notice my black bra was shining right through my white shirt. His hand lingered on my back.
I looked back at his eyes again. “You’re not so bad yourself.” I said chuckling.
He put a piece of hair behind my ear and was just about to lean in again, when we heard Mike shout at us: “Guys! Do you want to join a game of soccer?!”
I looked at Mike who had a huge grin on his face. It’s was his intention to interrupt us. I looked back at Vic. “You wanna go with them?” I asked.
He sighed. “Actually I just want to stay here in the water with you for the rest of my life, but I really can’t say no to a game of soccer.” He said.
I chuckled and stood up, extending my arms to him so I could help him up. We got to the rest who were already at the beach. While Vic and Jaime started to search for sticks or other things we could use for goals, Mike tried to convince me to join the game.
I refused. If I was bad at one thing, then it was soccer. I actually was bad at everything that had anything to do with sports. I was always that kid in PE class that was chosen last when teams were picked and when I was playing all I could really do is fuck things up for the rest.
But he kept insisted that I’d play along. “You can’t be that bad, right?” he had said.
After fifteen minutes of trying to refuse his offer, I decided to just give in, because he kept asking me. He would see soon enough that he shouldn’t have made me join the game.
Team one consisted of me, Jaime and Vic and team two consisted of Mike and Tony. I tried to stand close to the goal, hoping I would block the ball of going in it by standing in the way.
Before the game started, Mike and Jaime looked threatening at each other and I rolled my eyes. Guys and sports, I would never really get that combination.
Then we started to play and to say I sucked was an understatement. I was already bad at soccer when I played on grass or stone, but playing on sand was even worse.
I kept tripping over the ball and ending up with my face in the sand. (which really sucked because my clothes were still wet so all the sand stuck to them and they were all muddy) And when I did manage to shoot the ball, I mostly shot it to the wrong person or in the wrong direction.
I could kind of feel the guys lose their patience with me, because they actually did well and I kept messing up. They kept trying to be nice to me, though.
When I accidently shot the ball inside the goal of my own team, Mike decided that it would maybe be better if I was referee. “I told you you shouldn’t have made me join.” I said to Mike as I sat down next to the playing field.
“Yeah yeah, I get it. You were right, I was wrong. Happy now?” He groaned and he walked back to his position.
I nodded enthusiastically. “Yes very. I was right AND I don’t have to play soccer anymore.” I said and I saw that Mike was trying really hard to suppress a chuckle.
I was very happy I didn’t have to play anymore. I hated playing soccer. Looking at it was fun though, especially when the players are your best friends and it’s played on sand.
Besides, as a referee, I got to decide whether a goal counted or not. So I was really strict on Mike for forcing me to play.
“That’s not fair!” He yelled. “That one is definitely valid!” And he pointed towards the ball in the goal.
I shrugged at him and tried my best to look serious, although I was dying of laughter inside. “It was obviously offside.” I said matter-of-factly.
He groaned. “I don’t think that’s even possible with just two players per team.” He said
“I’m the referee. I get to decide.” I said and I saw Jaime and Vic bust out in laughter. It was so bad that Jaime eventually ended up on the ground. Mike turned around just to shoot Jaime a murderous look. If looks could kill…
Of course Vic and Jaime won the game. Mike and Tony first had me on their team and then they had to endure me as a referee, so there was no way they could’ve won. I decided that I was going to buy them ice cream, just to make it up to them. I mean, it was practically my fault that they had lost.
I would never forget the look on their faces when I both brought them vanilla flavored ice cream. The utter happiness was so childlike. Vic and Jaime (mostly Jaime) were a little disappointed that I hadn’t brought any for them, but I guess they understood after the prank I pulled on Mike and Tony.
We stayed at the beach the rest of the day. We mostly just played around in the water or sat down on the sand and talked. We got some snacks from a food stand as lunch.
The whole thing was honestly amazing. This whole day was peaceful and fun. And that’s how I enjoyed my days the most. The last year had been eventful and not at all peaceful, but it was the price we all had to pay for days like this. I understood that now.
Right now, the sun was starting to set and I knew I couldn’t postpone going home much longer. But I would stretch my time here as long as I could.
The sky was pink and orange and the colors blended together like a painting. It reminded me of the times me and Vic had spent on his rooftop or the time we had driven around and watched a sunset on a hill. Sunsets were kind of our thing I guess. No matter how many times I saw them, they still gave me an enchanting feeling. This one was particularly beautiful, because the orange sun reflected on the water
Vic was sitting against a little hill of sand and I was sitting against him, with the back of my head on his chest and his arms around my waist. To my left was Tony, to my right was Mike and across from me was Jaime. Most of the people at the beach had already left. Except for a couple with a little kid and two old ladies, we were the only ones on the beach.
We somehow ended up playing truth or dare right, but we mostly just did truths, because we were all too lazy to actually do stuff.
It was my turn. “Okay, truth or dare to...Jaime.” I said. I mostly asked him because I already knew I what I was going to ask him when he answered truth.
“Truth.” Jaime said without hesitation.
“Ugh coward.” I said imitating his voice. I grinned at my own joke.
It took a while for reality to set in with him, but then it hit him. “Yeah, I get it. I said that to you the first time we played truth or dare together.” He said grinning.
“It’s quite remarkable you even remember that. You were extremely drunk.” I said.
“Ah well, let’s just say that it was quite an eventful night.” He said and before anyone remembered why, he said: “So what’s the question?”
I giggled. “Have you asked Jessica out already?” I asked.
Even in the dim, red light of the sun I could see that he was turning red from head to toe. “Uhm…” he mumbled scratching his neck. “I wanted to. I was planning on doing that the last day of school, but I chickened out.”
I felt bad for him. I don’t what it was about these boys, but I felt very protective over them. I wanted them to be happy and get everything they wanted.
“Wait, who’s is Jessica?” Vic asked. Which probably meant Jaime still hadn’t told the boys. He had told me five months ago already.
Jaime turned even more red. “Jessica Rose. She is in my math class.” He said softly. There was nothing left of the hyper boy he always was. Damn this boy had it bad. If it went on like this I would literally push him in her direction when we were at school again.
Mike took Jaime’s cheek between his fingers and pinched them. “Awww! Look! you’re blushing and shit! Jaime’s has got a crush!” He said teasingly.
“Our little boy is growing up, Mike.” Tony said grinning.
Jaime crossed his arms like an angry toddler. “You’re only two months older than me Tony.” he said sending angry glares to him.
Tony laughed and then it was Jaime’s turn. “Truth or dare to....Mike” he said.
“Truth.” Mike said while laid down in the sand with his hands behind his head.
“Who did you lose your virginity to?” Jaime asked grinning. I actually knew the answer to this, but I don’t think the rest would expect it
Mike raised his head a little and leaned his elbows in the sand. “Casey.” He said.
Jaime’s and Tony’s eyes went big and I heard Vic make a confused sound. “Dude really?” Tony asked. “Not Leila? Or Sasha?”
Mike shrugged and laid back down. “Those girls didn’t mean as much to me as Casey does. I act like a big player all the time, but I actually never really wanted to lose my virginity to a girl that didn’t mean that much to me. And then I met Casey and I knew it was right.”
I smiled. I remembered when Casey had told me about this on the phone. How she had sounded like a young(er) school girl as she told me about it.
“So, truth or dare to Tony.” Mike said, he obviously wanted to change the subject. He wasn’t usually the person to talk a lot about personal things. But I guess more people here had that problem.
“Truth.” Tony said.
“Mmmm...What do I want to know about you?” Mike said and I saw flash of fear in Tony’s eyes. It made me giggle. “Have you ever kissed a girl?...Or a boy, we don’t judge.”
Tony turned red too and shook his head. “Never.” He said and he looked down at the sand.
“Never a boy? Or never a girl?” Jaime asked.
“Neither.” Tony said. It didn’t necessarily shock me. He was just fifteen years old and even though Jaime was the youngest of us, Tony looked and acted the youngest. He was still quite small and his features were still so boyish. His jaw was still round and his shoulders narrow. He was still a kid. And of course he was so shy. I knew it was because he was pushed around a lot before he met Mike and Jaime, but I knew he would grow over it someday. One day he would find his confidence and be the man he was meant to be.
“That’s okay, Toon.” Jaime said soothing. “There’s no need to rush.”
Tony shrugged it off and looked up again. I saw that it didn’t really bother him, but that he was just a little ashamed of it. “Vic, truth or truth?” He said softly, but grinning.
“What if I wanted to choose dare?” I heard Vic say next to my ear. I heard in his voice he was smiling.
“Bro, I don’t think you’d want to.” Mike said. “I mean, your girlfriend is sitting on your lap. Do you really want to stand up right now?”
Vic looked at me and then back at Mike. “Nah, I’m good.” He said and I grinned. He responded by kissing me on the cheek. “Truth.”
“Who were your friends before the pact?” Tony asked. “I’ve always wanted to ask you. But I never got the chance to.”
I guess that was the best about this evening, we had had so much trouble the last year that we hardly had time to get to know each other. We finally had a chance to ask each other these things.
“I didn’t have a lot of friends.” Vic said. He didn’t sound upset. He had left the pain in the past. “Mike was a good friend of me.” He grinned at Mike who shot finger guns at him, still laying down. “And the rest of my friends mostly didn’t last more than a few weeks. They weren’t such good friends as you guys are. They left my ass real quick when the pact happened. They wanted to save their reputation I think.”
Tony nodded sadly. Vic’s words gave me an idea. I stood up from Vic’s lap and stood in the middle of our little circle. “I’m going to give a speech.” I said and surprisingly no one laughed at me. They looked like they were deeply interested in what I was saying. Mike even sat up straight to listen. “Exactly a year ago, I moved from Bristol to San Diego. I didn’t want that, at all. But I’m happy it happened. Nothing could’ve been better for me. I left Bristol a normal shy girl. I went back as a fighter. I know things didn’t always went the things we wanted to. We have been through things that kids of our age will never understand. We know what’s out there, in that big world. We know what it’s like to lose people and to make new friends. I’ve learned a lot from those experiences and even though it would’ve spared me a lot trauma’s, I wouldn’t do anything different if I had a chance to do it all over again. Because I have a bond with my friends, with you, that isn’t comparable to other friendships. We are family. I would catch a bullet for every one of you. And I know every single one of you would do the same.”
A silence fell over the four guys. They all looked at me with a strange mixture of sadness and gratefulness. “I want to thank you guys. For making my first year in America amazing. I love every single one of you.” I said.
Then something unexpected happened. Mike stood up, walked towards me and hugged me tightly. “I love you too.” He said and his voice was muted by my shirt. I giggled and I heard the rest chuckle too.
Then Jaime stood up and threw his arms around Mike and me. He was followed by Vic and Tony who did the same thing. I was being crushed, but it didn’t matter. This was one of those moments I would remember for the rest of my life. Even if I wouldn’t speak with them anymore in a few year, they would still have played a huge part in my life.
I laid down my head on Jaime’s arm and threw one arm around Tony’s waist and one hand around Vic’s.
And we stood like that for a while. I didn’t know for how long. It could’ve been minutes, it could’ve been hours. I didn’t care how long it took, because in that silent moment, I had forgotten everything that was bad about life. I had forgotten the fact that I still needed to face my parents. I forgot about everything bad that happened to us.
The only thing I was aware of, were these four guys. All four different, in a good way. For every single one, I’d do anything to keep them happy. The only thought that went through my head, was that Leah probably was looking down on us now, from those sparkly stars that were now slowly appearing in the sky. Maybe her spirit was hugging us as well.
I raised my head and was just in time to see the sun disappear into the water, leaving us in the dark.

Notes

Heeyyyy guys

So, when i was writing this, I thought this was the greatest thing I had ever written. And then I read it back and I was like...whut? This is bad XD I can't seem to be satisfied with the chapters for this story anymore. Maybe i put the bar a little too high for myself....

Only one chapter left guys...And it's going to be a weird one. I actually had that last chapter in my head since I started this story. And that's six months ago! :O thanks to everyone that has been here since the beginning, but also a big thanks to everyone who joined along the way <3

So I will probably update in about a week...At friday or saturday. I have to re-do some exams this week and I really have to study for them. Besides I still have my other stories.
