Bulletproof Love

Emily’s POV:

It was cold out I felt the cold breeze hit my arms making me shiver. I was wearing my pajamas still. I was dragged here.

“Please don’t do this.” I barely got out before I was slapped. I could feel my cheek stinging; I knew it was turning red. I couldn’t see who was standing in front of me and that made me even more nervous.

“You just couldn’t keep your mouth shut could you?” The dark figure said. The voice echoed in the dark a room where we stood.

“I’m, I’m sorry.” I stuttered before I felt a tear slip down my face.

“Aw, is the little whore crying? Grow up! You’re just another wasted space Em” He said again before he slapped me again but this time with more force. I was slammed into the ground. He didn’t stop there. He kicked me in the stomach, and then again, and again. I clutched my bleeding side. I tried screaming but no noise came out, this is how I was going to die. He kicked me again, I couldn’t stand up my body ached and I was in so much pain. I felt more tears slid down my face.

“Please, don’t” I begged. Then I saw a gun. A gun was placed right in front of me. The dark shadow soon walked out into the light and I saw the figure in plain sight. He walked closer to me with the gun. “Please” I begged again. He looked down at me then gave me the gun. I was confused but then I heard his voice. A voice I was all too familiar with.

“Emily” He said.

“Tony” I responded. He pulled me up so I was standing.

“Shoot him” Tony’s voice boomed through my ears. I didn’t say anything. I stared blankly into his eyes, silently begging him not to do this. “Shoot him” He said again. I was confused and then I turned around and found my brother lying on the ground. I faced Tony again but he had a gun to my head now. “Shoot him, now” He repeated. He guided me so I was facing Vic. I couldn’t do it; I fell to the ground next to Vic. I grabbed him and pulled him close to me.

“Vic” I cried.

“Em, you have to do it.” He said staring at me with no emotion.

“Emily, do it or you both die” Tony said. I looked up at him.

“Tony please…” He put the gun to my forehead.

“I never liked you anyway” He said before pulling the trigger.

I shot up in my bunk hitting my head on the low ceiling of my new bed. I was crying and sweating.

“Em, are you okay?” I saw Jaime appear next to me.

“What?” I asked trying to avoid questions.

“You woke me up, you were crying” he was whispering now.

“Sorry Hime” I said.

“It’s okay. I just wanted to make sure you’re okay! Since we are both up do you want to watch a movie or something?” He asked, that sounded like a great idea. I nodded and slid out of my bunk, I followed him to the back lounge.

“What do you want to watch?” He asked turning on the TV.

“Let’s watch Star Wars!”

“You and Tony really do belong together.” He laughed. I jumped a little at Tony’s name. Why did I have that dream? Tony wasn’t going to hurt me, was he?

“What was it about?” Jaime asked, I looked at him confused so he clarified. “The nightmare” He said. I sighed and explained it all. When I was done he nodded and spoke again. “That sounds pretty bad, but Tony would never hurt you or Vic, that I know and I can promise you that.”

“I hope not” I mumbled under my breath. He hit play on ‘Star Wars’ I quoted almost the whole movie, it was nice to tell someone about the night mare, and I get them a lot. They started right after dad died. Jaime and I had gotten really close in the past few days and I was glad I had a friend like him. My mind kept replaying all the events that unfolded recently. We were on the 2nd Star Wars and I started to fall asleep. The last thing I remember was Jaime putting a blanket on me.
