Counting The Stars and Scars

*Max's POV*

I woke up at 10:30 am and immediately shook Jaime awake, "Jaime! Wake up, we're going to be late!" I said as I climbed over the top of him to get out of bed, "Huh? What time is it?" He asked sitting up and rubbing his eyes, "It's 10:30!" I said throwing him so clothes, he looked at me and sprung up, getting ready as quick as we could, I rushed my eyeliner so it didn't look as good as it normally does and threw on some clothes, pulling a beanie over my head because I was having a bad hair day, "Are you ready?" He shouted as he walked downstairs, "Almost" I replied, putting on some mascara and lipstick, I took one last look in the mirror and started to make my way downstairs, I soon got stuck as my foot started to ache, "Jaime!!" I whined, he came to the bottom of the stairs and started laughing, I folded my arms and made a pouting face, "Are you stuck?" He asked making his way towards me, I nodded and he lifted me bridal style downstairs and out to the car, "You look amazing today, is that new foundation?" He asked, I nodded, surprised that he had noticed, "Well it makes you glow like an angel" He said, reaching over and placing his hand on my thigh, I placed my hand on his, it was cold, I turned the heating on in the car. We soon arrived at the doctors 3 minutes early, I sighed with relief as we parked up, "Do you want me to grab one of those wheelchairs?" He asked pointing to the entrance where about 10 wheelchairs sat, I nodded, he quickly ran out and got me one, coming back and lifting me into it, "Thank you" I said, giving him a peck, he wheeled me inside and signed me in, while he was doing that I wheeled myself over to the waiting area, I was sitting watching the news that was on the flat screen mounted to the wall then I heard a familiar voice, "Max?" A girl said, I turned to my left and saw a tallish, skinny girl with bleach blonde hair and a face which had obviously been affected due to drugs, it was Rachael Mellow, I was a bit surprised when I looked down and saw she was about 8 months pregnant, "Rachael?" I asked as I saw Jaime walking over, "Yeah! How have you been?" She asked like she never made my life a living hell about 4 years ago, "Good, you?" I said trying to be polite, "Good, I have this little one on the way in about 3 weeks, my boyfriend is over there signing me in" She pointed to the desk where Jaime was coming from, her boyfriend turned around and by god was he ugly, his face was all disfigured and his teeth were disgusting, he shot us a grin and waved, I gave a small smile and waved back, "He's a keeper!" I said, laughing internally, "Max? Who's this?" Jaime asked as he sat next to me, "This is Rachael Mellow, you remember Rachael, right? Megan Fines' best friend?" I said looking at Jaime with wide eyes, the hate that appeared in his eyes, i swear if she wasn't pregnant I thought he would've went for her but instead he just gave a smile and turned his attention to the TV. Rachael and I sat there talking about how Jason got Megan put in Jail due to framing her with drugs, we also spoke about Jaime and I, so basically I was just rubbing it in her face that I was successful, engaged and happy, she didn't like that very much, finally we heard the doctor call for me, "Max Crooks to Room 38. That's Max Crooks to Room 38, please, thank you." I said my goodbyes and Jaime wheeled me down the hall, thank god, I fucking hate that little bitch.

Jaime opened the door and there sat a smallish, fatish woman with brown hair and glasses, "If you could please hop on the bed for me, Max, that'd be lovely thank you" She said as I jumped up on the bed, she examined my foot and took some x-rays and test, she soon came back with a piece of paper, "Well it seems you have fractured your foot and there is a hairline crack on your ankle but put it in a cast for a couple of weeks and keep weight off it, it will heal perfectly fine, I have prescribed you some paracetamol and that's about it, oh you can keep the wheelchair and congratulations on the engagement" She said, we thanked her and made our way out after she wrapped me up in a purple cast, "She was nice" Jaime said wheeling me out, I nodded in agreement, now all we have to do is go to the Fuentes house for lunch. We arrived there a bit later as we stopped at Starbucks for a drink and home to pick up Winter, "We're here!" Jaime shouted as he wheeled me in, everyone came rushing towards us asking if I was okay, "Why are you two so late I have a good min... MY DEAR MAX, WHAT HAPPENED?" Mrs Fuentes shouting running towards us and pushing everyone out of the way, "I tripped over a tree root and fractured my foot/ankle" I said sheepishly, she hit Vic and Mike around the head, "Why does no one tell me anything!?" She said as she took the wheelchair from Jaime and wheeled me into the kitchen, I saw Jaime, Mike, Tony and Vic whispering about something but I didn't know what it was, they've been acting really odd lately. Soon dinner was put in front of us all we were having quesadillas, I don't know why I terror rose in me as I couldn't eat, I wasn't hungry so I just swirled my found around on my plate, "Why aren't you eating?" Jaime asked as he rested a hand on my thigh, "I'm not hungry" I whispered back before speaking up, "Can I please be excused?" I asked, I looked at Mr Fuentes who nodded and looked at Jaime mouthing, 'Sorry'. While the others were finishing their dinner I was on the couch watching a stupid game show, I felt this weird feeling in my stomach and I suddenly felt sick, as I was wheeling myself to the downstairs bathroom I shouted on Jaime, who came running through, "What's happened?" He said as he entered the bathroom and saw me being sick, he held my hair back and rubbed my back. When I was finished I went to help Mrs Fuentes clean up, "Are you okay?" She asked looking at me as I wheeled beside her, "Yeah, it's just a bug you know?" I said, she nodded, standing up I put away the clean dishes, "I can manage it" She said, but I insisted on helping, so she let me, when we were done, I hobbled over to the kettle and switched it on, I suddenly felt light headed and everything went dark, I heard people shouting, "MAX!!" I heard Mike shout, "JAIME COME QUICK!" Shouted Mrs Fuentes, then everything went darker and quieter.
