Counting The Stars and Scars

*Jaime's POV*

When I heard Vic on the phone I burst out of the guest bedroom like I was fired out a cannon I knew it had to be Max, I really wanted to make things right with her, I caused all of this because I panicked and got jealous, I needed to fix this and make things right, I love that girl more than anyone will ever know, "But Max, I really..." he said before stopping, I stood in front of him, hoping that he was going to give the phone to me, "Hello? Max? Are you still there?" he asked, pulling his phone away from his ear, "She hung up on me?" he said looking devastated, "Okay, I'm going over to her place to make this right" I said turning around to grab my keys, "There's no point she's leaving today" Vic said, my whole attitude and emotion dropped, as did my face, "Wh-what? Where's she going?" I asked Vic just looked at his feet, "Vic! Where?" I asked, getting a little angry, "To her aunts in San Fran, I tried to talk her out of it but she wouldn't listen.." he trailed off, I looked at my watch as I soon became determined to catch her. I walked out and jumped in my car, driving to my house and changing in to something more clean and fresh. I jumped back in my car and raced over there, I knocked on the door there was no answer, I looked under the plant pot and found a small bit of paper folded up, I opened it and started reading:

"Jaime... I'm away to stay with my uncle and aunt in San Fran for a bit, the front door key is at Mike and Vic's place, make yourself at home, I'll text you so you know I've arrived, I love you so much, see you soon xx"

I felt tears building up and threatening to fall, I sat back in my cars with tears streaming down my face until I had a plan, I know that Mike knows where her auntie stays because she texted him to come over there once when I couldn't and he never deletes his texts. I phoned him, "Hello?" he answered, "Hi Mike, I need you to text me Max's aunties address, don't ask questions just do it!" I said before hanging up, two minutes later he texted me:

99, Montclair Terrace, San Franci, California.

I quickly put it into google maps and then my Sat Nav and off I went, my first stop, a flower and gift shop, I bought a couple presents for Max, the cashier put the flowers, (Lily's and Carnations, Max's Favourite) in a bag with water so they wouldn't have died by the time I got there. I was so excited to see Max's face when I arrived, I pulled in at a gas station to fill up my tank, while I was in line waiting to pay a young girl came up to me with her mother, she must have been about 12/13? "Excuse me?" she said, I turned around and smiled, "Are you Jaime Preciado?" I nodded, "Yeah, I am" I said politley, "Would you like a picture?" I asked and she nodded, she's sp sweet and shy, like Max, we posed for a picture, "Can I ask you something?" she said, sheepishly, "Sure go ahead" I said smiling, "Where is Max?" she said, my smile faded a bit, but there was no point on lying not to a 13 year old, "We fell out and she is at her aunties, I'm going there to apologise now" I said, she looked at me and gave me a hug, "It'll work out, I promise" she said before leaving with her mum, god, I hope she's right, by the time I paid and came out the snow was heavier and thicker. I was about 2 hours away from her aunties house and the nerves were building up inside me, then I recieved a text from Max, my car automatically read it out,

From-Max<3
"Jaime, I arrived safely, I miss you and love you so much, stay safe xx"

My car asked me, "Would you like to reply?", "Yes" I replied,

"Text Max, I am so glad, I miss you!! I love you so much too, I have a surprise for you baby, keep in touch xx"

Just then the window wipers wiped over my screen and I saw these truck headlights coming towards me, I panicked and tried to swerve out of the way but I was too late, my car was hit and everything went black!
