Don't You Ever Let Me Fall

"I'm sorry Kellin." She whispers quietly as I sign the divorce papers. Tears slowly rolled down my cheeks and onto the paper making tear marks. "I just don't know what I did wrong Katelynne." I choke out signing the last line and handing it to her.

She remained silent before shoving the packet into her bag. "I'll be back on Wednesday for my things." She informs kissing me lightly on the cheek which brought more tears to my eyes and butterflies in my stomach.

"See you then." I whisper watching her take her two boys' hands and walking out of the house with a click clack of her heels. I sighed and broke down on the chair to the table. "Daddy." Copeland murmurs.

She tugged on my skinny jeans and wrapped her arms around my leg. "Hey! Wanna go see Danielle's dog?" I ask wiping my eyes. Copeland grinned and clapped her hands. "Grab your coat then princess." I smile weakly.

Copeland ran off and I stood up before slipping my Toms on. I buckled her up in the car and drove down to Vic's house where Danielle would probably be. Hopefully she will be so I can talk to Vic.

I knocked on the door and Vic opened the door and smiled at Copeland. "Hey how'd it go?" He asks me cautiously. Earlier today Katelynne called me from the studio where Vic and I were saying we needed to talk. Things weren't working out and I knew it meant trouble.

"Is uh Danielle here? Copeland wants to see her dog." I whisper on the verge of tears. Vic nodded and looked walked me into the house before we sat on the couch. "Babe!" Vic calls. Danielle came out of the kitchen and smiled at me and Copeland, her dog following her.

"Hey Kellin! Hi Copeland!" She coos crouching to greet Copeland. "It's all over Vic." I whisper closing my eyes to let tears fall out. "Copeland, let's go play dress up upstairs yeah?" Danielle smiles as Copeland runs after her with Danielle's dog.

"Danielle would make a great mom." I whisper wiping my eyes. "Kellin, what happened?!" Vic asks suddenly. "I came home and she handed me divorce papers. She wouldn't tell me why. She just said it wasn't working. No reason why. And then she said she's coming back on Wednesday for her things and left." I sob.

"God, I'm so sorry." Vic sighs pulling me into a tight hug. "Three years of marriage only to be crumbled." I sob louder. "Come on, let's get a beer yeah?" Vic says before leading me into the kitchen.

At the table, a blonde pale girl sat at the table eating a bowl of cereal. She had no emotion and her eyes showed sadness. "Shit, I'm sorry. Marilyn, this is Kellin." Vic introduces gesturing from her to me.

"Um hi." She states continuing to eat. "Who is this? Danielle's sister or something?" I whisper quietly. "I can hear you. And no I'm Vic and Mike's sister." she states coldly. "You have a sister?" I ask in shock turning to Vic.

"Uh yeah. She just moved back like two months ago with her boyfriend." Vic whispers. Marilyn suddenly burst into tears loudly. "Ex boyfriend sorry. Yeah he broke up with her and uh she's gonna live here for a while." Vic whispers almost inaudible.

"Marilyn, come with us and play dress up!" Danielle says softly patting Marilyn's back. "I think I'm gonna go and sleep before I throw up." Marilyn mumbles. "She's not usually like this. Ever since the break up she's been a cold emotionless trainwreck." Danielle says as Marilyn rushes out.
