Love Like a Tidal Wave.

Magdalynn got back to her small apartment. She shed her clothes as soon as she hit the bathroom and turned the water on super hot, just how she liked it. She took her time showering, letting her bathroom fill with steam. After getting out and drying off, she stepped into her room, putting on a work uniform. She went back to the bathroom, quickly blow drying her hair and putting it into a ponytail. She applied a light bit of makeup, then got in her car and headed to work. She needed a distraction, and she was grateful that she had been scheduled for this afternoon. She was not grateful, however, to see that she was closing with Jack again. Even though he was one of her best friends, he liked gossip a lot more than he liked working, and she knew he would ask about last night. She walked behind the counter and washed her hands before making herself a large cup of coffee. She still had a raging headache from the hangover, and she knew that the caffeine from the coffee would help soothe it.

“Good afternoon Sparkle-Butt!” Jack danced around her and she gave him a little glare. He frowned at her, stopping his dance. “Well someone's cranky.. What's up with you this afternoon?” He asked, taking a tone of seriousness.

“I've got a hangover, Jack” She said, rubbing her temples.

“Who did you drink with last night? And why didn't you invite me?” He asked, hopping up on the counter.

“That guy Vic and his bandmates. It was a good time” she said nonchalantly. He raised an eyebrow and gave her a questioning look.

“How good of a time?” He winked at her, and kicked his feet. She had to admit, Jack was adorable when he was begging for gossip.

“Fantastic, until I woke up this morning..” She was hoping he would take the hint, instead of her having to say it out loud.

“OH MY FUCKING GOD, MAGDALYNN NOELLE, YOU HAD SEX WITH HIM?!” Jack exclaimed, filling the (thankfully) empty shop with his voice. She jumped up and covered his mouth with her hand.

“Yes, we had sex Jack, now shhh. I'm sure people from down the street heard you say that!” Her mind pulsed, his yelling reigniting the headache that was quickly turning into a migraine.

“Sorry Mags, I'm just so excited for you! It's been forever since you got laid! Plus, he's so freaking cute! Was he good? Did you..well you know, whatever girls do when they have sex?” He was practically giggling like a little girl, but made a grossed out face at the last sentence.

“Thanks Jack. Reiterate the fact that I don't have sex very often. I don't really remember whether or not he was good. I was so drunk. But I was pretty sore this morning, so I'm guessing he's packing something that was decent. And for that last part, you don't even want to know, so don't ask the question Jacky” She stuck her tongue out at him. He rolled his eyes at her and stuck his tongue out as well.

“Well I, for one, am way excited for you. Are you gonna see him again soon?” He asked, hopping off the counter and starting the pre-closing tasks.

“I'm not really sure. This morning I tried to just quietly sneak out, but his brother caught me and made me stay for breakfast. Then Vic walked me to my car and I told him I'm not really interested in anything serious right now. I'm just too busy, ya know? But he looked really sad after I told him. I think he wants me more than I want him” She was absentmindedly wiping down the espresso machine as she spoke.

“Are you serious Maggie? You passed on a piece of ass as fine as that because you're 'busy'? With what? School and working here? It's almost summer! Take a chance! You never know, this guy could be totally awesome!” He was looking at her like she had two heads.

“Or, he could get totally too attached, and I don't want that. I'm still kinda broken Jack. I just don't know..”

“I'm just saying, give this guy a chance. He could be what you need to get unbroken. Travis was a total dick, I said that from the beginning. Why don't you see if he wants to go clubbing with us tonight? It's ladies night!” He got all excited again.

“I don't really wanna go out tonight Jack. My head still hurts” She gave him a puppy-dog face.

“Nooooo way, girl You bailed on me last week. We're going out tonight, even if I have to come dress you and put on your makeup myself” He winked at her, finishing mopping up the store.

“Fine, but I'm not inviting Vic. It'll be way too embarrassing” She frowned, looking at her feet.

“Then I'll invite him” He said, slipping her phone out of her back pocket. He found Vic's number and pressed the dial button. She was jumping up, trying to grab the phone out of his hand, but having no success, due to his huge height advantage over her. “Hi, is this Vic? Hello there, my name is Jack. I'm a friend of Magdalynn's. We're going out tonight, and we were wondering if you wanted to go with us? She's really eager to see you again.. Uh huh.. yeah! She'll text you with the details. Well I'm looking forward to meeting you! Buh bye!” He giggled and handed the phone back to her.

“Jack! What the fuck is your problem!” She shouted, giving him the dirtiest of looks. He just laughed at her.

“You'll thank me later, I'm sure” He said. They quickly finished closing the store and then both headed home. She quickly curled her hair and put on a thick coat of makeup. If she didn't look cute to go out, she knew Jack would kill her, so she put on a short black dress that showed off her cleavage perfectly. She then texted Vic, even though she was still unsure about inviting him.

Hey there. We're going to Club Crawl tonight at ten. Do you still wanna come?

She quickly received a text back.

Hell yeah! I'm looking forward to it!

She cringed a bit, but got over it quickly. She did still like Vic.

Well, Jack and I are pre-gaming at my apartment before. You can come over whenever if you'd like to drink a bit with us before we go out.

Def! Just give me your address and I'll be there in a bit.

She texted back her address and went to her liquor cabinet. She decided on Vodka for this evening. Magdalynn pulled out a bottle of Grey Goose and mixed herself a strong cranberry and vodka. She sipped on it slightly, waiting for either of the guys to show up. Before she could even set her glass down, there came a knock on the door.

She answered, and Jack walked in, looking fantastic, as usual.

“Damn, girl! You look good!” He said, looking her up and down. She giggled and poured him a drink.

“So, Vic is gonna come pre-game with us. Does that sound alright?” She asked, sitting next to him on the black leather couch.

“Well duh! I can't wait to meet him!” He was giggling at her. On cue, there was another knock at the door. Magdalynn got up to answer it. Vic was at the door with a bouquet of yellow roses. She smiled as he handed them to her. She took a moment to look over his appearance. He looked amazing. His hair was straightened, covered with a slouchy gray beanie. He was wearing a pair of tight black skinny jeans, and a purple button up shirt, left untucked. She gulped a bit.

“Hey, beautiful. You look great” He smiled at her, leaning in to kiss her cheek. She blushed lightly, feeling butterflies rise in her stomach.

“You do too. Thanks for the flowers” She said, smiling. She walked into the living room. “Vic, this is my friend Jack. I believe he spoke to you earlier” She shot a dirty look at Jack. “Jack, this is my friend Vic. I'm going to go put these in some water. What would you like to drink Vic?” She asked, walking towards the kitchen.

“Just whatever you guys are having is fine with me” He said back, sitting on the loveseat opposite Jack. They shook hands and began making small talk. Magdalynn brought out a drink for Vic and sat next to him. The loveseat was small, so they were sitting close, their legs lightly touching. They sat around drinking and laughing until 9:45.

“Cab's here!” Jack yelled, trying to sound like the guys off of Jersey shore. Vic and Magdalynn laughed at him. They made their way outside to the cab and climbed inside. Maggie sat in the middle seat. Already being tipsy, she let her hand slip into Vic's. She couldn't help it, he just looked so good tonight, and she knew that she was attracted to him. She didn't want anything serious, but that didn't mean that she couldn't mess around, did it? He smiled at her and squeezed her hand gently.

They got to the club in no time. The music was bumping so loud they could hear it outside. Jack knew the bouncer, so they were through the door quickly. Stepping up to the bar, they bought a few shots and took them. Magdalynn's head was buzzing, and she couldn't wait to get dancing. While Jack left to go seek out some “man candy”, Maggie pulled Vic to the dancefloor. They danced, staying in close contact. Every so often, they left to go get another drink, but they quickly returned. They loved the friction running between their bodies. It was electrifying. Hours that seemed like only minutes passed, and Jack came to find them.

“Hey guys” he slurred, hanging off of the shoulder of some guy that Maggie had never seen before. “I'm going to get out of here, but I'll see you guys later, ok!” He giggled and staggered off.

“I'm kinda ready to go too. Do you wanna go try to catch a cab?”Magdalynn batted her eyelashes at Vic.

“Sure, I don't mind leaving now” He smiled at her and gave her a little kiss. He had been trying to steal kisses whenever possible throughout the night. They walked outside, holding onto each other for support. They were once again, both very drunk. After hailing a cab, they both climbed inside. He was pressing kisses into her neck, and her hand was dangerously high on his leg. They traveled back to her apartment, stumbled into the door and towards her bedroom.
