Love Like a Tidal Wave.

I Need Some Time, Just Deliver the Things that I Need for Now.

Magdalynn blinked open her eyes, groaning at the headache pulsing between her ears. Her head was on something warm. She looked up. Vic was dead asleep, his mouth was slightly open, and light snores were coming from it. He looked super cute. She then looked down. They weren't wearing any clothes. Shit. Seriously Magdalynn? She thought, slowly trying to untangle herself from Vic. She didn't want him waking up. After rolling off the bed, she quickly gathered her clothes from around the room and slipped them on. She left his room, closing the door quietly behind herself, and crept down the stairs. As she was passing the kitchen on the way out, a voice stopped her.

“Trying the sneak out huh? Was he that bad?” Mike laughed at her. He was standing at the stove, cooking something that smelled fantastic.

“I uh... No, I was just...” She stuttered, trying to come up with an excuse.

“I get it. You fucked my brother, and you're kinda embarrassed about it, so you're trying to get outta here so you can spare yourself the awkward wake up, blah blah blah. But seriously, sit down. You leaving is going to do nothing but piss him off. I know you're into him, and he's pretty into you. So just have a seat and eat some breakfast. I'm making chorizo burritos” He gestured towards the breakfast bar. She sat down, putting her head in her hands.

“Do you need something for that hangover? He asked, putting a glass of orange juice and two ibuprofen in front of her.

“Thanks Mike” she said taking a sip. She gagged, and her stomach turned at the substance in the glass. “Screwdrivers? Seriously?” She put the glass down, giving him a disapproving look.

“Hey, the best cure to a hangover is to just stay drunk. Drink up!” He laughed at her, and started frying tortillas. She took another sip of her drink and swallowed the ibuprofen with it. Mike wrapped up a burrito, setting it in front of her. She took a bite and she swore it was the best thing she had ever tasted.

“How are you guys like, so good at cooking?” She asked him, her mouth still full. A voice came from behind her.

“Mama Fuentes taught us well” Vic laughed. He was standing in the doorway of the kitchen in just boxers. His hair was a mess, and he was rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “I'm glad to see that you're still here. I seriously can't stand when girls try to sneak out the next morning. It drives me insane”.

Mike gave Maggie that 'I told you so' look, and got back to cooking. Vic made himself a burrito, and sat down next to Magdalynn. He put a hand on her leg and smiled at her. She returned the smile weakly and got back to her food. Her mind was racing. She didn't know how to get out of this one. Something that she didn't need in her life was a guy that was attached. She had some much on her plate, she didn't need, or want, to let someone in. She finished her breakfast and sat at the bar. After making some small talk, she finally spoke up.

“So, I gotta get home, I work in a couple hours, and I need a shower and whatnot. It was really cool hanging out with you guys though. Thanks for breakfast Mike, it was fantastic” She stood up from the stool and put her dishes in the sink.

“Let me walk you to your car” Vic piped up, hopping up from his seat. He followed her out the door, walking to her car. Once they reached the door, she turned around leaning against the driver's side.

“Listen, Maggie, about last night. I'm really sorry if I maybe pushed things too far for a first date. I just think you're super pretty, and I was really drunk, and it was kinda in the moment. I just..” He was struggling to find words, and Magdalynn could tell that he was nervous.

“Shh, Vic, it's fine. Don't worry about it. What happened, happened, and it's in the past. I think you're really cute too, but honestly, I'm not really in a position to let people in. It's honestly nothing against you, I just can't do the whole “dating” thing right now. I'm sorry. But can we still be friends? I really liked hanging out with you and your friends” She felt horrible. As she was talking, she could see Vic's face falling. He looked like a sad puppy, and it was terrible.

“Uh, yeah, I guess that would be fine. I feel kinda like an ass right now, so I'm gonna just go ahead and go...” He turned and started walking towards the house. Maggie grabbed his wrist and he turned back around, looking at her.

“Don't be upset Vic. I like you, I really do. But it's just not the right time. We'll see how things go, ok?” His face brightened just slightly, and she smiled. “Besides, you didn't give me a goodbye kiss” She gave him a little smirk, and a full smile spread across his face. He leaned down, lightly pressing their lips together. She couldn't deny it, his kisses gave her butterflies. She pulled back, and smiled up at him.

“Goodbye Vic, I'll see you later” She said, then got into her car. Vic walked away, but stayed on his doorstep to wave goodbye to her. Once she drove off, he headed inside. He made himself another burrito, and poured a screwdriver from the pitcher in the fridge.

“Soooo, how was last night?” Mike asked, elbowing his brother in the side, and raising his eyebrows.

“Fucking amazing dude. I can't even describe it. That girl is just... ugh, I can't even describe it. She's sexy as hell, and all sweet and adorable at the same time. But she told me she doesn't want anything with me. She said she's “not in the position to let people in”. I don't know what to do. I'm totally sprung over this chick, but she's like, unattainable. Fuck..” he sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

“She's definitely one of the hottest girls you've ever brought over Vic. And she seemed to be plenty “open to letting someone in” last night” Mike winked, and Vic gave him a light punch in the arm, laughing. “Dude, if I know girls anything about girls, it's this. You just have to be persistent. It's obvious that she's into you, so just let it happen naturally. Don't force things, just go with the flow. You can be really romantic with the song writing and all that junk. Shit like that makes girls swoon. She doesn't seem that hard-headed. Plus, if it doesn't work out like that, you have a sexy fuck-buddy” He laughed again. He really wanted Magdalynn, and he would do anything to try to convince her that he was right for her.
