Magdalynn faced Vic, sighing loudly. To be honest, she didn't really know what was going through her mind. It was so much that it was overwhelming.

“I don't really know, Vic. It's just a lot. I'm really scared. I don't want to leave yet. I'm not ready to say goodbye to my family, or my friends. And you. I don't want to lose you, and I don't want to put you through the heartbreak of losing me. I'm scared about our child. I don't want to die when I barely know him or her. And what happens when you go on tour? You can't just bring a baby with you and leave it sitting on the bus until you get done playing. And then there's..”

“Shhh” Vic whispered, pulling her tightly into his arms. She had begun crying again while she was talking. “We'll work it out sweetheart. I promise, we will. I'm going to do everything in my power to help you get better. And this..” he rubbed her stomach and smiled, “is just as much my responsibility as yours. I'll take care of our baby no matter what. Even if it means I have to give up music. I'll be there. I promise you”. He stuck out his pinky, and she wrapped her own around it.

“I'm so in love with you Vic” she said, kissing him gently on the lips.

“Good. Because you have no clue what you mean to me” he held her close and tight while she pressed her head to his chest. She yawned, and blinked her eyes slowly.

“Why don't you try to get a little rest. Don't worry, I'll be here the whole time snuggling and keeping you warm” He kissed her hair. She nodded lightly and let her eyes close. Vic stayed awake, watching her as her breaths evened out. She looked so peaceful, like nothing was even wrong with her. He laid a hand on her chest and felt as her heart was beating at a steady pace. He hoped that her biopsy would be alright, and that she was going to make it. Saying that he was scared was an understatement. He was terrified to lose the girl that made him so incredibly happy. He found his own eyes growing heavy, and he fell asleep with her tangled with him.

Vic awoke to Magdalynn shaking and letting small whimpers out. She was crying in her sleep, and whispering things that he couldn't understand. He shook her gently trying to wake her up from her nightmare. He kissed her wet cheeks and ran his fingers through her hair. She woke with a jolt, and thrashed around a bit from being disoriented.

“Baby it's okay! It's just me. You're ok” He whispered, trying to hold her tight so that she would calm down. She settled, but buried her face into Vic's neck and began to sob. He rubbed her back and let her cry. “What was your dream about?”

She struggled to gain composure, but sat up and looked into Vic's eyes.

“I was at my own funeral. I was looking down, and watching everyone. And you were holding the baby and it was so horrible. And I saw my mom and dad and everyone..” she continued to cry.

“Shhh sweetheart, it's okay. Don't cry anymore. Please, for me? I hate to see tears coming out of those beautiful eyes” He continued to stroke her hair and her cheek. “Why don't I call Jaime and see if he'll cook tonight. And we can sit around and talk and laugh and make s'mores and everything. It'll be like nothing at all is different. Does that sound alright?”

She nodded her head. “Let me go shower while you call him. Will you tell the guys? I don't really think I can handle for it to come out of my own mouth. And I don't want to see the look on Jaime's face when he finds out. He's gonna be heartbroken” She frowned at him.

“Whatever you want, love” he said. She turned and walked down the hall to get in the shower. She turned the water as hot as it would go and stepped in, hoping that the scalding water would just wash away all of her problems.

Vic picked up his phone and dialed Jaime's number. He picked up his phone within two rings.

“Hey man! How did the appointment go? I've been waiting to hear back from you!” He could tell Jaime was stressed out.

“Not good. The doctor thinks she might have breast cancer. They're sending her for a biopsy in the next couple of days” Vic sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. All he heard on the other end of the line was silence. Finally, Jaime spoke.

“So what happens after that? What if it is cancer? Are they gonna take it out and make it all better? Is she going to go bald? She has such pretty hair..” He said, rambling on.

“That's the thing Hime. They need to see first. But the real problem with the 'after' is that they told us today that Maggie is pregnant”.

“Excuse me?” Jaime asked, obviously in disbelief. “How can she be knocked up? We've been gone for such a long time on tour.. Are you sure it's yours? I mean, I don't mean to sound like a dick, but that just immediately set off some alarms for me..”

Vic took a moment to think. The last time they had a visit was two months ago. Are girls supposed to show at two months? Wouldn't she have known by skipping her period? Vic had too many thoughts swirling around his head.

“I feel like it is mine. We saw each other not that long ago.. but damn.. I guess we'll have to see at her first ultrasound. That's when we'll find out exactly how old the baby is” Vic was growing more and more worried, and a knot of nervousness filled his gut. He wanted to know now.

“I wouldn't worry about it dude. Magdalynn is a good girl, she wouldn't do anything like that. It's gonna be fine” Jaime said, though he sounded doubtful.

“Yeah, I know” Vic replied, twisting his hands together. “But anyways, I wanted to ask if you would maybe cook dinner or something. She's really really upset, and I just want her to hang out and relax, try to take her mind off of everything”.

“I don't mind at all! What should I make?” Jaime sounded excited to do anything to cheer Magdalynn up.

“Just something good. She said she hasn't really been eating meat lately, so maybe something vegetarian? I don't know, just try to whip something up. I also promised her s'mores, so you may need to run to the store”.

“No problem. When will you guys be home?” Jaime asked. Vic could hear him going through cabinets to try to find ingredients.

“I would say about an hour. She's in the shower right now, and I'm sure she's going to want to have some time to get all ready. You can tell Tony and Mike everything if you'd like. But she said she didn't really want to talk about it, so make sure they know not to push it, ok?” Vic was worried that they were going to interrogate her when she got over there, and he knew that was not what she needed.

“Alright. I'll see you guys in a bit” Jaime replied, then hung up.

Vic walked down the hall to check on Magdalynn. The bathroom door was cracked. Vic peeked his head in. Magdalynn was sitting in the shower, staring off into space. Vic came in and sat down on the floor.

“Hey sweetie. Jaime is going to make you some vegetarian food, alright? And we'll go over there and it'll be fun. I know the guys are looking forward to hanging out”

“Alright.. Vic, can you do me a huge favor?” She asked, giving him puppy dog eyes.

“What's that?” He replied, taking her hand.

“Will you come in and wash my hair for me. You know it's my favorite” She smiled at him.

“Well of course I will” he laughed and stood up.

Vic peeled off his clothes and got in the shower with her, helping her to her feet. He poured shampoo into his hand and massaged it into her hair, making sure he got every inch. She rinsed her head and he put in conditioner from root to tip. He could tell that the little head massage was relaxing her, and he smiled before giving her a little kiss on the lips. She rinsed off, and they both got out, drying off slowly. Vic sat on Magdalynn's bed and watched her get dressed, putting on simple skinny jeans and a black v-neck. She put on a minimal amount of makeup and let her hair dry naturally.

“Are you ready to go my dear?” Vic asked, holding his hand out.

“I am. I'm ready to have a little fun” She said and took his hand before walking out the door and to her car.
