I Introduce The Selfish Machine

Fifty Six

I pressed my face against the window as the plane began to land. "Tony, look how beautiful." I said, reaching behind me to slap his arm.
"Piper, it's dark outside." He said.
I shot around to look at him. "I know it's dark, but that doesn't make it any less beautiful." I said.
He gave me a slight smile. "You're right, love, it's beautiful." He said softly, lacing his fingers with mine.
I smiled back at him. He still gives me butterflies. "Do you think we'll be able to check into the hotel?" I asked.
He shrugged. "I mean, we should be able too. I've never been to Bora Bora before so I'm not sure." He opened up the map that had been sitting on his lap.
When it came to planning our Honeymoon, it was difficult as I've been nowhere and Tony's been everywhere. We finally found Bora Bora, a place where Tony has never been but always wanted to visit.
I sighed, leaning back in my seat. "I just want to be off this plane." I sighed.
He ran his thumb across my hand, still focused on the map. "14 hour flights suck, don't they?"
I nodded, leaning my head against his shoulder. Even in first class, flying for fourteen hours straight doesn't make me very happy. My legs are locking up, and I really want to take a shoulder. This week in Bora Bora better be worth it, because I don't fly for fourteen hours straight for just anybody.
The wheels hit the ground, and within no time, we slowed to a stop. First class was escorted off the plane first, and Tony and I went through all the out of country stuff quickly, just to find ourselves outside of the airport, in the pouring rain.
"What the hell?" I mumbled, cleaning off my glasses and searching for an umbrella. "I didn't bring and umbrella, did you?" I asked Tony.
Tony, who was also cleaning off his glasses, seemed puzzled. "I thought I did, but I can't seem to find it-" He said, searching through all his bags. He sighed. "They must've thought it was a weapon and took it out, because I know I brought one." He said. I was holding my suitcase over my head to protect myself from the rain. Tony started taking off his jacket. "Here, use this." He said.
"No, you're going to get cold.."
"I don't care, I just want you warm." He said, grabbing the suitcase out of my hands and replacing it with the jacket. I smiled up at him. This man is a sweetheart, and I'm married to him.
We were about to do a cliche rain kiss when a man walked up to us. "Mr. and Mrs. Perry?" He said, his accent thick.
"Yes sir, that's us." Tony said, grabbing our bags.
The man escorted us to a limo, which was going to take us to the hotel. The limo was dark, and so warm. I sat there and sighed, wanting to dry off so badly. Fourteen hour flight and it's raining? This does not equal a happy Piper.
"We should be at the hotel in about an hour." Tony said.
"An hour?"
"Yeah, apparently so."
"Well, what time is it right now?"
Tony looked at his watch and frowned. "8:45. Check in is until 10."
"So we'll barely get there in time?" I was frustrated. If we had booked the 5:00 AM flight like I had suggested, we wouldn't be in the time crunch.
"Yes, but," Tony pulled me into him and held me there, "when we get there, we can shower and dry off, then just cuddle in our bed. Doesn't that sound amazing?" He said, running his fingers through my semi wet hair.
"That does sound great." I said. For being soaking wet, Tony was surprisingly warm.
"Then tomorrow we can..."

"Piper, we're here, wake up." Tony said in a whisper, shaking me awake.
I sat up quickly. I didn't even know I fell asleep. All of the travel must have exhausted me.
"I already checked us in, and the driver drove us to our Villa." He said, grabbing my hand and rushing me inside the Villa. "Welcome to our beautiful Villa." He said once I stepped inside.
The walls were painted a pale yellow, and the windows were letting only the light of the moon in. But, it was beautiful. It was like a huge apartment, one bedroom with one bathroom. It looked out to the beach, which was dead expect for the rain hitting the sand. The Villa had it's own private pool, TV, and internet/wifi, which would come in great handy.
I sat on the couch in the living room, debating on whether or not we should just move in here.
"There's no shower, only a bath, so I drew you one that should be ready about now actually. I'll start unpacking everything so you can go straight to bed once you get out." Tony said. I stood up and walked over to the frantic mess that is my husband right now and kissed him.
"Thank you." I whispered, my lips close to his.
"You're welcome. Let me take you to the bathroom and I can start unpacking."
I pulled him back to me when he tried to walk away. "No, you're bathing with me."
"But-" I kissed him again to shut him up. He got the point.

After a romantic bath and some grown up stuff, we started to settle in for bed. Tony, being the weather freak that he is, wanted to check it before we went to sleep.
I laid in bed, texting Jaime, when Tony spoke up from the other room.
"Pipes, come look at his." He said, worry in his voice. I walked into the living room to see Tony staring out one of the huge windows with his iPad in his hand.
"What's up?"
Then, I saw it.
Other Villas, which had been dark, were now lit up. The beautiful scenery that had been there when we arrived was now covered by water.
"The island is flooding." Tony whispered. "We're stuck here."
