A Friday Night Like This

A Story About A Boy And A Girl, A Very Different Version That You've Ever Heard

'Kellin... Kellin... Kellin!' I felt someone shaking me out of my deep sleep. I opened my bleary eyes, blinking furiously to clear them. Colours danced in front of my eyes, shapes forming grudgingly. There was a tinged-pink oval shape framed by yellow in my vision. There was also a smudge of red that was moving and two blue orbs. Everything settled and I saw a very annoyed Evie, yet again shouting at me.

'Get up! It's today! Today's the day!' My heart started thudding faster.

'What?' I whispered, my voice hoarse. In response, Evie picked up her calendar. There, circled many times in a red marker and followed by a row of crosses to signify the past days, was today's date. I fainted.

A splash of something cold landed on my face. I felt it trickle down my cheek. I sat up and blinked away the spots, my mouth tasting funny. Evie stood above me, an empty glass in her hand. An eyebrow was raised, and she asked,

'Are you sure getting married is a good idea?'

I nodded. 'Of course!' I got up out of bed, spreading the remaining water droplets around my face.

I was at Evie's house. Vic had gotten home a few days ago and had checked over the remaining decisions for the wedding with me. Vivian and Evie had gone shopping yesterday, getting everything ready. Evie had then dragged me to her house, while Vivian stayed at mine. I didn't really mind; Evie and I had been sleeping at each other's houses almost every night Vic was away.

She was dead set on helping me with wedding preparations, and a lot of late nights had ensued. On the fourth night of staying at my place, she had packed a bag and dumped it in the spare room, where a blow up mattress had been constructed. A few nights later, and she had migrated to my room. It had become a room mate sort of situation - she helped out with grocery shopping, helped clean the house, we took turns cooking meals, carpooled for work. I was going to miss her company over the next month. She and Vivian had taken care of Vic and I's honeymoon, so we didn't know where they were sending us.

Click... click... click. Evie's fingers were snapped in front of my face, followed by her voice.

'Kellin!' She sounded exasperated. I would be too, imagine trying to get me ready on my wedding day! That's exhausting! Evie pulled out a notepad from her bag which was sitting on the end of the bed. She fished around for a pen and flipped the notepad open.

'Okay, first up, breakfast and shower! Hurry! We're late!' Evie tutted at me jokingly.

'Evie, how are we late? It's not even morning yet.' I complained, standing up and stumbling over my feet. It was true; out light source was the bedroom light, there wasn't even a hint of light peeking out from behind the curtains.

'Shut up and shower.' Evie pushed me to the bathroom, throwing a towel in after me. I showered quickly, drying off and wrapping the towel around my waist. Evie was sitting on her bed outside the bathroom, inspecting her nails.

'Put these on, sweetie.' She said, gesturing to the clothes beside her. She stood up and went into the bathroom herself; I heard the shower start and I started to put my clothes on. A white button down, black dress pants and a black bow tie. I ignored the bow tie; I had absolutely no idea how to put it on. I went out to the kitchen and made coffee and toast. Evie walked out as I finished my meal. She only had on her underwear and a short nightie.

'Come on.' She grabbed my hand and dragged me back to the bathroom. Her hair was dripping wet, making the floor slippery. I slid, and she chastised me.

'Why didn't you put shoes on for God's sake? And your tie!' She stalked back out of the bathroom. She returned shortly, my bow tie in her hands and a rectangle-shape sticking out of her chest. She put the bow tie around my neck and pulled it tight, before making it loose again. She pulled her phone out of her bra and looked at it before casually replacing it.

'The girls will be here soon.' She said absentmindedly before turning to her hair styling products. I sighed. I should have know there would have been a reason I had to stay at her place. She plugged in her hair dryer and straightener, setting the straightener to heat up to its highest possible temperature.

'Evie, is this really nescessary?' I asked, half-following her as she went to the kitchen to grab a chair for me to sit on while she primed and primped.

'Definitely! It's your wedding!' She gushed, grabbing my shoulders and steering me to the chair. She forced me to sit down and turned on the hair dryer. I have to admit, it felt nice, her brushing my hair and fussing around with it. After she had finished with the hair dryer, she unplugged it and put on some music. I recognised the song almost instantly.

'Blood On The Dance Floor?' I asked dubiously, giving her a look in the mirror as she jumped to the beat.

'Yeah! They're upbeat and fun; not serious at all! Loosen up, would you?' Evie yelled, picking up the hair straightener with a wicked glint in her eyes.

'Hold up!' I yelled. 'Heat protector first.' Evie rolled her eyes and put the straightener back down. She massaged the heat protectant into my hair and then picked up the straightener. She started straightening it, telling me to move every now and then so that she could reach different places on my head.

'Is that all you had to do?' I asked her as she stepped away. She nodded.

'Then why get up so early?' She looked to the doorway and smiled.

'Lucy, Roxanne, Ginger.' She greeted each girl. They chorused back hi's, before walking into the bathroom.

'Now, Kellin, the reason I got you up so early is so that you could help us!' She grinned widely before grabbing out her makeup, while Lucy, Roxanne and Ginger produced theirs from behind their backs. My mouth dropped open. Save me now.

A few hours later and the girls were all ready. They looked amazing. They had on rich brown dresses, which shimmered as they moved. It hugged their upper bodies and came to just above their knees, flaring out in the skirt. They had on strappy heels, also brown in colour.

Ginger was show-stopping. She had the same colour on her eyes as her dress, which contrasted with her brilliant green eyes and flaming hair. A nude shade covered her lips and her freckles were on display to the world. Lucy looked stunning, her dark brown hair and brown eyes making her look like a tree nymph. She had on similar make up to Ginger, with alterations due to her slightly darker skin tone. She had also found some glitter, which she had added like an eyeliner and winged out. Roxanne looked virtually the same as Lucy, except for her twinkling blue eyes and lighter hair.

Evie had on a similar dress to the other girls. Being my maid of honour, she had a slightly different get-up. Her dress was a pale pink, and a similar shade coated her lips.

All of their hair was pulled back and curled, into a half-up, half-down style. Thin layers of mascara decorated their lashes and their nails were painted and sparkly.

'Thoughts, Kellin?' Evie asked, spinning to show off her outfit, the other three girls copying gracefully.

'I'm speechless. You look wonderful.' I said. 'Now, Evie, what's next on the list?' Evie excitedly retrieved her notebook, turning off her music.

'We pick up flowers and...' She scanned the list as everyone packed up their make up products. 'That's it. Then we're ready.' My heart leaped into my throat. This was it. This was really it.

Vic's POV

'Get up, honey.' My mum shuffled into my room, throwing open the curtains and checking the time. 'We've got a lot to do, so hurry! You showered last night, didn't you?'

'Mum...' I grumbled into the pillow. She sighed and ripped the covers off.

'Come on, Vic!' I stumbled out of bed and into the wall, my eyes still trying to adjust to being open.

'Don't put your suit on! Just shorts and a shirt.' My mum complained at me some more as I yanked on clothes. She went out to the kitchen and started yelling at me from there.

I staggered out and sat at the table as she passed me coffee and toast. I munched on my toast as she outlined what we were going to do.

'Now, the wedding's at four, so everyone will arrive at about three thirty. We need to have the chairs set up and the aisle... Streamers decorating the trees, with balloons...' She trailed off and looked up at me from counting her fingers. She seemed more calm and collected now that she had said what needed to be done.

'Anything else?' She asked.

'One thing. It's at your house.' I said, sipping my coffee. She grabbed my hand and dragged me out to the car.

'Let's go then!'

- Jump to three thirty -

Kellin's POV

I watched as my "limo" pulled up to the curb. Lucy grabbed my hand and smiled at me, obviously pleased with my reaction. My jaw had dropped as I stared at my mode of transportation.

It was a tour bus, all done up like a wedding limousine, with white streamers attached to it.

'That's not the best bit.' Roxanne said before leading me to the back. Across it in white paint read, "Just Stupid - marrying the same guy twice". I laughed.

'That's your opinion of me? It's so nice Roxanne.' She laughed along with me, checking her phone which had just buzzed.

'Vivian says that in about forty-five minutes we can arrive.' She announced to the others as I walked around to the front to see who was driving this thing. My jaw dropped as I looked up at the familiar red head. I scrambled aboard, taking in the scene in front of me.

'Justin! Gabe! Jack! Kyle!' I yelled at the four men who were standing in the middle of the bus, fixing up their suits and putting finishing touches on their hair. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me from behind.

'Kellin!'

'Jesse!' He released me and I hugged the other guys.

'I thought you guys weren't able to make it.' I stated, confusion crossing my mind. Jesse laughed.

'You've obviously not been keeping up-to-date on the social media. Our fans forced us to come back here for your wedding, we just have to make it up to the ones who didn't see us by completing the tour in a few days.' Justin explained.

'That's fair.' I said. 'I'm so glad you guys could come.'

'So are we.' Jesse said. A few seconds later, all the girls piled onto the bus.

'Why hello there. Sweet company you're keeping these days Kells.' Gabe said, checking them all out.

'Taken.' Chorused Lucy and Ginger.

'I may be free...' Teased Roxanne. Gabe's eye turned on Evie, she just smiled at him and replied,

'I'm not interested.' The bus took off with a lurch, sending half of us stumbling backwards.

'Where to first?' Jesse yelled at us. He must have returned to the driver's seat to get us on our way while the girls piled in.

Roxanne walked up to the front and rattled off the name of the florists their bouquets were at. She and Jesse talked the most of the way there, the rest of us sitting down. Evie was next to me, holding my hand and rubbing it soothingly. I had no clue what we were supposedly talking about; I was too nervous to care.

We pulled up to the florist and Roxanne jumped out, rushing back in a few minutes later, her arms full of sweet smelling flowers.

'Okay, let's get to your wedding Kells!'

- They're driving, they're at Vic's mum's place, and cue them exiting the van -

I got out of the van last, Evie's hand a calming presence on my arm. I know I had done this before, but it was still nerve-wracking.

Vic's parent's place was done up beauifully. I had decided on a pale pink theme. Streamers hung from the trees, while balloons that had been blown up with helium were tied neatly to the chairs that were set up either side of the designated aisle. The aisle was a collection of white fabric - most likely sheets that had been ripped off beds - weighed down with several rocks.

I only got a slight glimpse before Evie pulled me inside.

'Ready?' She asked, giving me a glass of water. Where had she gone to get that? The time was flying by now.

'Five minutes Kellin!'

'Four.... Gee, Vic looks snazzy all dressed up in his suit.'

'Where's Lucy? She's supposed to be here!'

'Roxanne! Thanks for finding Lucy, where were you?'

'And let's roll out girls!' Evie's voice counted away the minutes. I heard the first strains of the piano and Lucy, Roxanne and Ginger set off towards the "altar". The crowd sprung into a chorus of 'ahh's, complimenting them. Evie gave me yet another reassuring smile before swaying down it herself. The crowd let out another appreciative noise. A few bars later and it was my turn. If the crowd was complimentary it was nothing to the hush that fell over them.

But the funniest part was, I didn't remember them. No notice was taken. All I had was eyes for Vic. I just noticed Mike as the pastor, before my attention fixated itself on the angel standing before me.

He was wearing an outfit identical to mine, and as I neared I saw that there was a smudge of dirt on his face. I wiped it away and Mike began droning on.

'You know what?' Mike said about halfway through the first sentence. 'We all already know this bullshit. You love each other and stuff, so let's get on to the real part. Victor Vincent Fuentes, do you take Kellin Quinn Bostwick to be your lawfully wedded husband and all that other lovey dovey stuff?'

Vic laughed at his words, along with the entire gathering.

'I do.'

'Vice versa for you Kells?'

'I do.'

'Then kiss for God's sakes!'

Title cred: The Dilemma - You Me At Six

Vic's mum and dad's place was based off Tod something-or-other's in their DVD. I hope this wasn't an awful finish...

And I've got the start to the sequel ready! Please comment and tell me what you think of this, please???

Thanks. I won't upload it right now because I've been writing the second chapter for about a week now and it's nowhere near finished!
@raven
Haha, just kill all the characters! If you want to read a story in which some characters may die, may I suggest my other story, Kiss Me Through the Window and it's sequel The Taste Of Touching Glass? *shameless advertising*
That is so adorable! I love it! This story was great and I loved the plot progression, like it didn't move to fast or slow. I'm excited for the sequel <3
