A Friday Night Like This

Dare Me Jump Off Of This Jersey Bridge?

'Vic,' I giggled, squirming to escape his tight grasp on my torso. The Mexican grinned cheekily while his fingers softly brushed themselves against my skin, trailing down my neck and side, heading for my stomach. His hair hung in his eyes and he flipped it over his shoulders, but to avail. It just slipped over them again.

'Say it.' He said, continuing to touch me lightly. I writhed, uncontrollable laughing spewing out of my mouth.

'No! Now let me go!' I giggled some more and he flipped me onto my back, straddling my hips. He grabbed the bottom of my shirt then ripped it off, claiming both my wrists and holding them above my head. I raised an eyebrow and muttered,

'Kinky.'

He rested his palm in the middle of my stomach, moving his fingers so that they hit just below my rib cage.

'Really?' He asked, another sneaky smile overcoming his features. My eyes widened.

'Okay! Okay! Fine! You win.' I screeched as Vic started tickling my stomach. He arched an eyebrow at me.

'Vic is the better singer in King for a Day!' I yelled. Jaime looked down at us in interest.

'Would you like to get a room, or...?' He asked, taking a sip of his coffee.

'He's right, guys. Shut up!' Tony added walking in from the bunks. Vic leant down and kissed my nose, smiling at me. He got up off of me and helped me up.

'Truce?' I suggested, holding out a hand. Vic looked at me and scrunched up his face.

'We can still get Mike, Jaime and Tony?' He asked. I nodded, glaring at the others, as if daring them to try us.

'Deal.' We shook hands and the bus lurched to a halt, sending us staggering into the fridge. Jaime started laughing.

'I don't think Casey likes your truce.' He said, taking another sip of his coffee. Tony crawled over the pillows and blankets covering the bunk to talk to Casey.

'Hey, man, what's up? You almost killed Kellin and Vic.' He joked, poking his head through a homemade window to the front cab.

We heard Casey's voice mutter something back at him.

'Okay, cool. I'll tell them.' Tony said, reappearing.

'We've got a pit stop for a while. Apparently your van's got a flat.' Tony grinned at me. I was lying on the floor, my hands covering my head.

'God dammit! I told them that we should change the tire.' I groaned. I jumped up as Jaime and Tony started walking towards the door, which I was lying in front of. I didn't exactly want to be trodden on. Vic smiled and slipped his hand in mine, swinging our hands as we looked around at our surroundings. We were in Australia for Soundwave, and currently driving from Sydney to Melbourne. We had booked a show at the Murky River, or something similar to that, for all of our fans near the border to come and see us. We were going to Swan Hill, at least we knew the name of that place!

'Hey, look!' Mike exclaimed, pointing at a nearby sign. It said that Swan Hill was only a few kilometres away.

'Great find, dude.' Justin said, walking over from where Gabe and Jack were trying to figure out how to take the tire off and replace it. I could see their furrowed brows from here.

'Losing man points!' I called, laughing.

'Says the man in a relationship with a guy and a voice higher than most girls.' Gabe retorted, grabbing a wrench from the tool kit, while Jack grabbed the jack.

'I could change that tire!' I called. 'And I am way more manly than you!'

'Sure, babe, keep telling yourself that.' Vic said, kissing my cheek and playfully slapping my butt.

'Hey!' I poked my tongue out at him and marched over to Gabe.

'Place that under the van.' I said, pointing to the jack. Jack did, and started raising the car. Jesse had grabbed a video camera and hit record.

'Hey guys. We're just outside Mildura at the moment, aaaaaand, Sleeping with Sirens have gotten themselves a flat tire.' Vic started talking and Mike joined in.

'Kellin is racking up some "man points",' Mike made inverted commas with his fingers, 'by showing them exactly how to do it.' Jaime started laughing as I tried turning the wrench.

'It's not my fault! The damn thing's stuck.' I complained, tugging on the wrench.

'Other way, Kellin!' Jesse yelled, and I said,

'Yurp. That's right. Showing what not to do here.' Quickly changing direction I spun the wrench and the first bolt came off easily.

'We get it Kellin, you're not a handyman. Now give the tools back to the guys who know what to do.' Justin stuck his hand out for the wrench and waved Mike over. Tony had disappeared to God knows where. I sighed and gave him the wrench, standing up while Gabe yelled into the camera,

'And no man points for the girl!' I started running after him, and we ran in circles around the bus, nearly getting hit by a stray car.

'Babe, why won't you help me?' I asked Vic, who was standing next to Jesse watching the spectacle unfold.

He shrugged. 'Because it's funny watching you two.'

I pouted at him and turned back to Gabe. 'Fine, then.' I ran a few steps when I felt a weight plant itself on my back. I tumbled to the ground, screaming.

'What the? VIC!' I yelled as he commando-rolled over the top of me, standing up without a scratch. Mike and Gabe, intrigued, looked up from their work on the tire, smirking at us.

'Way to go Vic!' Jaime yelled.

'And there you have it guys. Kellin and Vic. Just being themselves.' Tony appeared and spoke into the camera, flashing a smile and hiding behind Jesse. Jesse snapped the camera shut and went over to help get the other tire ready for putting on the van. Soon enough, we were all back on the road. Vic and I were in our own vans because, thanks to the tire change, we were running late for the opening show. I got a call from Jenna of Tonight Alive as we pulled off the main road and into Swan Hill.

'Hey Kellin. We were just wondering where you are. You were supposed to be here half an hour ago. We've been through sound check and the fans are going wild.' She said, her voice crackly because of the not-so-hot reception.

'Hi Jenn. Sorry, our van blew a tire and some dumb ass tried changing it.' I said

'You mean you failed at changing a tire? Seriously! Man points equal all gone.' I could see Jenna smiling as she said this.

'Funny, do you guys want to go on first? Or maybe Trenton?' I asked. 'We've just pulled into Swan Hill. See you soon!' I hung up and started doing some vocal exercises.

'Shut up, Bostwick!' Gabe complained, covering his ears.

'Whatever, dude.' I replied, wavering my voice.

~a few hours later~

'Are you guys ready?' I asked Vic, Tony, Mike and Jaime. They all nodded enthusiastically. I wrapped an arm around Vic and kissed his forehead.

'Break a leg, baby.'

We had played just after Hands Like Houses, after a quick warm up and song run-through. Tonight Alive were playing now. They had two more songs to go until their set was finished. The crowd wasn't very big, but they were loud. I had seen two mosh pits start up and then merge. It was crazy.

I moved away from the four guys as they readied themselves for their set.

'Are you guys ready to go on?' Jaime asked, slipping his guitar on. Jesse had flicked on the camera a few seconds before. Vic stuck his guitar pick between his teeth.

'Yup.' He started clapping his hands together. The other guys moved in to form a square, clapping in time with Vic. 'Alright. Let's go on with Tony. Kellin, get in here too.' I reluctantly moved in to join them as Jaime said,

'You can be last, yeah? You can be last. Start with Tony.'

Vic started with, '1, 2, 3, 4,'

The rest of us joined in,

'Hey Tony!'

'Wuuup.' He replied.

'The devil,'

'Urrgh.'

'The devil is everywhere. Hey Mike,'

'Hoo!'

'The devil,'

'Wooo!'

'The devil is everywhere. Hey Vic,'

'Uh huh.'

'The devil,'

'Keep goin' now.'

'The devil is everywhere. Hey Jaime,'

'Yes.'

'The devil,'

'Great.'

'The devil is everywhere. Hey Kellin,'

'Yurp!'

'The devil,'

'Yurp!'

'The devil is everywhere. Hey P T V! Wooo!' The guys finished singing "The Devil Is Everywhere" and, pumped, they ran for the stage that Tonight Alive was leaving. I watched them play their set, Vic looking around and winking at me every so often.

'Okay guys! Grand finale or whatever. I would like to call our boy Kellin Quinn on stage!' Vic shouted into the microphone after playing A Match Into Water. As I walked on stage, he started thanking the crowd for coming out and watching them, and the crew and managers to make it possible.

'I love you guys! Have a super wonderful day!' Vic shouted, making the crowd shudder simultaneously. 'Haha, I'm joking guys, but...'

'Dare me jump off of this Jersey bridge?!' We started screaming the lyrics, Tony, Jaime and Mike going wild. It was like their energy had been refreshed for the last song. It was amazing to be a part of it.

Jaime stepped up to the mic,

'Fuck with this new beat!' We neared the end of the song, with the crowd already shouting 'Encore!' at us.

'It was great coming out here guys. We're playing again down in Melbourne and for our sidewaves, so. Go and check it out.' I said. I then pecked Vic on the cheek and waved, jogging off the stage. I swear, half of our fans almost fainted. I rolled my eyes. All this 'Kellic' business was so funny to watch them react to! Even if it was true...

I explained to Dr Mason my memory, trying to keep it under ten minutes. It was very hard. After saying everything, she looked at me thoughtfully.

'Thank you, Kellin. I've taken some notes and I'll share my views on this at our next session. Do you have a date in mind?' She asked. We arranged a date, and I called Vic in to see her next.

'Do you have a memory ready?' I asked, trying to make some conversation with my husband.

'You said you would sign the papers, Kellin. They are still at home, signature-free.' Vic glared at me.

'And I said give me twenty four hours. You're here, after the twenty four hours, proving to me you still care, and want this, Vic. Don't tell me to sign something when you're not one hundred per cent sure. At least give me that.' I said, looking him in the eye. 'Dr Mason's waiting.' I watched Vic walk into her office, shutting the door.

Notes

Title cred: King For A Day - Pierce the Veil

I just realised - Tony sings in a song! Or is at least featured in one... At the very start of "The First Punch" he shouts 'Where you from fool?' *Freaking out because he actually talks* haha. :)

Thanks. I won't upload it right now because I've been writing the second chapter for about a week now and it's nowhere near finished!
@raven
Haha, just kill all the characters! If you want to read a story in which some characters may die, may I suggest my other story, Kiss Me Through the Window and it's sequel The Taste Of Touching Glass? *shameless advertising*
That is so adorable! I love it! This story was great and I loved the plot progression, like it didn't move to fast or slow. I'm excited for the sequel <3
