A Friday Night Like This

Lying Is Your Favourite Passion

I can't believe it was Jesse. How could I? I mean we? We're best friends for crying out loud! And he's straight! I tripped down the bus stairs and stumbled over a body that was laying there. I scrambled into an upright position and I looked down. I saw the unkempt shoulder length hair, that tumbled down like a delicious chocolate waterfall, the strong, muscular arms that were made just to protect me when I'm weak and to hold me like glass when they choose. The tan skin screaming his cultural background. The Mexican lay at my feet, a scowl on his beautiful face. He saw who he was scowling at and his expression turned around.

'Kellin!' He said, standing up. 'Ow, my head.'

'Get out of here!' I said, covering up my nudity, my face flushing.

'Me? You were the one that came out of the bus.'

'I don't want to go back in there so leave!' I said indignantly, looking up into his eyes. His brown ones stared right back into my frosty blues.

'And no need to cover yourself up. I've seen it all before.' [*COUGH* reference alert! *COUGH*] Vic said, his eyes never wavering. He blinked and I turned around.

'Come on. There's some water and panadol on the bus.' I said, walking onto the bus.

'Not to mention clothes.' I could hear Vic's smirk and I clenched my teeth.

As we were getting on, I saw Jesse stand up.

'Kellin?' He said, his jaw dropping. 'I - you - us - uh... what?'

I blushed deeply and Vic piped up.

'No. You guys just passed out. Nothing went on.'

Oh thank god. I exhaled the breath I didn't know I had been holding and grabbed a pair of shorts and a tank top. I grabbed three glasses and got the small pills to relieve our thumping headaches. We all gulped it down, eager to rid ourselves of this pain and Jesse chucked some pants on. After eating a few slices of toast, I finally realised who I was actually talking to. The toast became dry in my mouth and I had trouble swallowing. Vic looked at me and finished his mouthful.

'Jesse, do you mind if Kellin and I had a conversation alone?'

How had I known he was going to say that?

'Sure, dude. Catch you later guys. I have to find the rest of the band. Who knows where they are.' Jesse got up and pranced away, his ginger-ness erupting out of him like waves.

Vic turned to me and took a deep breath. I started squirming in my seat. I had wanted to avoid a confrontation.

'Coffee?' I asked, trying to get up and dump my toast in the bin.

'Sit, please.' Vic's hand shot out to mine where it rested on the table. My legs became jelly and butterflies exploded in my stomach.

'O - o - okay.' I sat back down and started bouncing my leg up and down. My eyes flicked around the room, my gaze landing everywhere except for Vic. Why was I so nervous?

'Kellin, I need to tell you something.' Vic started, clasping both of my hands. My eyes snapped to his face.

'I've been meaning to tell you for ages. That's the main reason I came to the party last night. To find you.'

I nodded vaguely, trying to encourage him to get this over and done with.

'And to say I'm sorry. My actions have probably disproved this statement, but I love you Kellin. I was scared I wasn't good enough for you, but your disapperance-'

'No, Vic.' I yanked my hands out of his and I met his eyes once again.

'I'm sorry. I'm sorry for somehow believing all the lies you told me. I'm sorry for somehow communicating to you that once you left, I still needed you. I'm sorry for ever saying I loved you.' My words stung, I could see it in his eyes.

You're better off with Jaime. Don't deny it. You're so much happier with him. I can see it with the way you act around him.

Vic looked at me funny.

'You just said that aloud.' He said.

'And I disagree,' He started while I blushed.

'I don't love Jaime. I love you and while that may not convince you, I'm here to prove you wrong. All I can think about is you. You're the drug running through my bloodstream. I'm crazy. Head over heels. I would go back and propose and marry you over and over again. You and everything even remotely connected to you are things that I never regret.' He paused, and took my hands again.

'Except for maybe buying that ugly yellow couch because it was the cheapest one to fill our lounge room with.' He laughed, and I joined in, reminiscing with him.

'All I'm asking for is one more chance, Kellin. I was wrong. So, so wrong.' I looked into his deep chocolate eyes. I stuttered the first syllable, then regained my voice.

'I - I will give you one more chance Vic.'

Thanks. I won't upload it right now because I've been writing the second chapter for about a week now and it's nowhere near finished!

Haha, just kill all the characters! If you want to read a story in which some characters may die, may I suggest my other story, Kiss Me Through the Window and it's sequel The Taste Of Touching Glass? *shameless advertising*
That is so adorable! I love it! This story was great and I loved the plot progression, like it didn't move to fast or slow. I'm excited for the sequel <3
