I Put Your Body to the Test With Mine

Can we create something beautiful and destroy it? Nobody knows I dream about it.

”Let's just go,” Tony mumbled quickly when he realized that I had noticed Kelsey, too.

Considering how drunk I was, I started to feel a wave of jealousy run through my blood, and suddenly I didn't want to leave. I wanted to see where it would lead and how Kelsey would react when she noticed me.

”No. I'm not going anywhere,” I told him and crossed my arms over my chest.

I turned back to look at Kelsey who was watching us – actually, she was glaring at me – and I couldn't help but feel disgusted. That woman wanted my boyfriend back to herself. And now, there she was standing in her tiny, tight, black dress and high heels, checking my boyfriend out. I was getting angry. Really, really angry. In fact, it must have not been a coincidence that she was there at the exact moment we were there. She had probably followed us. Or better yet, she had still been in touch with Tony and they had planned this. My god, I thought I was losing my mind. Tony wouldn't do that to me, would he?

All of a sudden Kelsey said something to her friends and then started walking to our table. Once she reached us, she flashed a big fake smile and looked at us both. Then her eyes landed on Tony who was staring at her.

”Hello,” she purred, ”I didn't think I'd see you here after...” After they broke up, huh? Tony seemed to have lost his ability to speak so I opened my mouth.

”What do you want?” I asked. Rude but straight, I thought, works every time. She turned her head to me and narrowed her eyes.

”I came to say hello to my old friend,” she muttered to me.

”I'm sure he wants nothing to do with you anymore,” I spat back.

For a moment she seemed taken aback... But only for a brief moment. Her frown turned into a big smile and she looked at me like I was absolutely nothing. Like I was a piece of shit on the ground. I swallowed hard and got scared for a moment. Man up, Abby, man up.

”Look, what do you want? You're interrupting our date,” I muttered. I had to remind her of what she couldn't have with Tony. She couldn't go out with him anymore and I could.

”You're a bit rude, aren't you? You come into my hometown, into my favourite place with my boyf–”

”Ex,” I cut in, ”Ex-boyfriend, you little shit.”

”How dare you,” she muttered through her teeth, ”You're just a kid, you're nothing. Go back home, nobody wants you here.”

”That's enough, Kelsey.” Tony seemed to have got his voice back and was now clearing his throat. Kelsey and I both turned to look at him.

”Don't talk to my girlfriend like that,” he said and shook his head, ”Look, just go away. Leave it. Please.”

”Fine,” she muttered and turned back to me, ”But I swear, if I ever see your face here again I'll– ”

”Kelsey, please!” Tony groaned. She closed her mouth and turned around before marching away.

After Tony and I had gotten home from the restaurant, we were both very quiet. Not a word was said as I took a shower and brushed my teeth and he laid in bed with his laptop. After showering I changed into one of Tony's t-shirts and climbed into the bed under the blanket. I turned off the lights from my side and rested my head against my pillow, turning my back to him.

”Do you mind if I go through a few things quickly?” he asked me quietly, talking about his computer that was resting on his lap.

”Go ahead,” I mumbled with a sigh. He was quiet for a moment.

”Is everything okay?” he asked with a soft voice.

”Sure.”

”Abby...”

”What?”

”Please tell me what's wrong.”

”Fine,” I mumbled, ”I can't believe you once dated a bitch like Kelsey.”

”Oh... Uh... Right, okay.”

”And I don't understand why you care about her anymore,” I said.

”I don't care about her anymore,” he sighed, ”Please, just, look at me.” I rolled on to my back and looked at him. He was looking at me through his glasses and looking somewhat worried.

”I don't care about her. She's just... She's good at manipulating people. But this is exactly what she wants. She's trying to ruin our relationship and I won't let it happen.”

”I'm just frustrated that she has to be there every step of the way,” I muttered, ”It's not like we can wipe her out of our lives when we live in the same town.”

”Babe... Come here.” He pulled me into his arms and kissed the top of my head, ”I love you.”

The next morning I woke up to the sound of Vic laughing in our kitchen. I opened my eyes and looked to my side to see no Tony there. I furrowed my eyebrows and got out of the bed before wrapping a blanket around my body and making my way into the kitchen. I saw Vic there standing in front of the window with a bottle of water in his hand. He was talking on the phone with somebody.

I sat down and waited patiently for him to finish his conversation. When he finally put the phone down, he flashed a big smile.

”Good morning,” he said and sat down, ”What's up, Abby?”

”Where's Tony?” I asked.

”He went to see Jaxin,” he explained, ”They had to discuss some business stuff.”

”Oh, okay,” I nodded and shrugged.

”Is everything okay, Abby?” Vic asked and for a moment there he seemed to be concerned.

”Oh, yeah, sure,” I shrugged.

”Abby... You're not fooling anyone,” he grinned, ”Come on, tell me what's wrong.”

”Well... Actually everything is wrong,” I admitted, ”But, right now, my biggest problem is Kelsey.”

”Huh, Kelsey? Has she done something?”

”She's trying to get Tony back,” I mumbled and sighed, ”We ran into her yesterday and she was a
complete twat. It was her who called Tony yesterday, by the way.”

”Really? And how's Tony feeling about all this?”

”I haven't got a clue, honestly,” I shrugged, ”I don't understand why he even cares about her anymore. I mean, I want to believe he wants me but at the same time... Why is he still in touch with his ex? It makes no sense.”

”Do you think there's something going on between the two of them?” Vic asked quietly.

”He says they've only talked but who knows... I want to believe him, I really do. I moved all the way here for him and I've completely changed my life for him. I want to believe I didn't do all this for nothing,” I explained quietly. I looked at Vic who was just looking at me. He was biting his lip and looked like he was thinking really hard.

”You guys know him the best,” I said, ”Please tell me if something's going on behind my back, Vic.”

”I will,” he promised and nodded, ”And don't worry too much, Abby, I know he loves you. When he's with us, he can't keep his mouth shut about you.”

”That's great but... You know. It's hard,” I said and flashed an awkward smile, ”Hey, what are you doing here, by the way?”

”Tony and I were supposed to go through some stuff today for our new album,” he told me, ”He told me to meet me here before going to the studio but I guess he's not coming now.”

”I'll come with you!” I exclaimed, ”I want to see your studio!”

”Really, now?” he asked with a laugh, ”Why are you so excited?”

”Because this is exciting. And I want to hang out with you. I'm tired of looking at Tony's face inside of these four walls,” I told him, ”Please, can I come with you?”

”Of course you can, Abby.” He flashed a big smile.

Vic drove us to their studio which actually wasn't that far away. We got in with his key and when he turned the lights on, my eyes went wide. It was a big, very white room with lots of guitars and drums and all sort of music stuff around. There were couches and computers and so much stuff stuffed into the room.

”There's the kitchen and the bathroom...” Vic pointed at two doors and I nodded.

”So this is it,” he said finally and sat down on a couch. I sat down on the other couch and just looked around the room.

”So this is where it all happens, huh?” I asked.

”For the most part, yeah,” he nodded, ”So, I can't really do anything here without Tony but at least you've now seen where we spend our time.”

”Do you ever bring any girls here?” I asked with a grin.

”No, except for girlfriends and family but not even them that often,” he told me.

My phone started buzzing in my pocket and I pulled it out to check who was calling me. After noticing it was Tony, I lifted it up to my ear and answered.

”Hey.”

”Hey, where are you, Abby?”

”I'm at your studio,” I told him, ”With Vic. Where are you?”

”With Vic? Why?”

”Uh... Because he's our friend, Tony, and you wanted me to spend time with other people, too,” I said quietly.

”Okay... I'm coming there,” he told me before ending the call. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at the phone in my hand for a moment.

”You okay?” Vic asked carefully.

”Uh huh,” I nodded, ”Not too sure about Tony, though. He was acting really weird.”

Half an hour later Tony arrived. I was laying on one of the couches and Vic was doing something with a computer on another couch. Tony walked in and stopped in the doorway. He just looked at us for a moment.

”You okay there, buddy?” Vic asked and cocked an eyebrow at his friend. Tony's eyes focused on Vic and then he nodded. What was wrong with him? Had something happened?

Tony ruffled his hair and then walked over to my couch and sat down next to my feet. He rested one of his hands on my knee and looked away.

Vic's phone rang and he excused himself before leaving the room. Tony wasn't still looking at me and I was starting to get really worried.

”Tony,” I mumbled quietly. He turned to look at me.

”Huh?”

”What's going on?”

”I had sex with Kelsey.”
