I Put Your Body to the Test With Mine

The consequense is if I leave I'm alone, but what's the difference when you beg for love?

A whole month later I stood in front of a small house. I took off my sunglasses and looked at the house – the windows, the front door, the small porch in front of it, everything – and the word home was the only thing on my mind. That house with its small porch and cute little windows was now my home. I grabbed the keys and started walking to the house. Once I reached it, I opened the door with my key and stepped in. The whole house was completely empty and smelled like the former residents and I wondered if it would take me ages to get used to the place.

I walked around the empty place and looked at our new bedroom. I smiled at the thought of spending every night there with Tony. I looked at the empty kitchen and realized that I would have to learn how to cook now that I had my own kitchen. I looked at the back yard and imagined kids running around it some day. I shook my head at the thought and told myself that I was too young to even think about having kids.

The sound of the doorbell ringing scared the shit out of me and I had to pull myself together before making my way to the front door. Two guys stood there and just looked at me for a moment. I cleared my throat.

”Mrs. Perry?” One of them asked and I furrowed my eyebrows.

”Abigail Perry?” he tried again and I flinched. Abigail Perry? The guy seemed to get frustrated with me.

”We're here to deliver the bed purchased by Mr. Tony Perry. He informed us that Mrs. Perry would be here to receive it. Are you Mrs. Perry or not?”

”Oh, yeah, I'm sorry,” I quickly said.

The guy only nodded and handed me a paper to sign. After signing it, the both of them turned around and made their way back to their van. I watched as they carried our new bed into our new bedroom. I thanked them and then they were gone. Well, at least we could now sleep in a real bed and not on the floor, I thought, but was still very shocked and confused about the whole Mrs. Perry–incident.

When Tony came home that night, I was sitting on the floor in our empty livingroom and texting my mom. When I saw him in the doorway, I put my phone away and looked at him.

”How's the house?” he asked with a grin.

”Empty,” I said and shrugged, ”It doesn't feel like a home yet. Though, we got our bed today.”

”Did we, huh? Is it good? Should we go test it?” he murmured and winked.

”Yeah but first I want something to eat. And I want to know why I was called Abigail Perry today,” I said and got up on my feet. A grin spread across his face and then he laughed.

”I told them to call you Mrs. Perry,” he told me.

”I hope you're not even thinking about marriage yet because I'm not ready for that stuff,” I told him and got serious again. He nodded.

”I know. Don't worry, Abby.”

”Good. Can we get pizza?” I asked and grinned. I took a few steps closer before reaching him and wrapping my arms around his waist.

”Whatever you want, babe,” he promised and leaned down to kiss me.

When our stomachs were full and we'd both had a few glasses of cheap red wine, I was more than happy to climb into our new bed and rest my head on the super soft pillow which honestly felt like heaven at that point.

”Goodnight,” I mumbled and closed my eyes.

”What? No sex on the first night in our first own home, Mrs. Perry?” Tony joked. I flashed a lazy smile but didn't bother opening my eyes.

”Too tired,” I mumbled, ”Sorry.”

”Just get some sleep, you had a rough day doing nothing.”

”Ha ha, shut up. Come closer.” He did as told and pulled me into his arms and I snuggled closer until I found my spot and got really comfortable.

”First night. In our own house,” I whispered.

”I can't believe it. We're not even having sex. It's a tradition to test the bed on the first night, babe.”

”You can use your hand, can't you, if you're feeling down?”

”But I like you a lot more than my hand,” he murmured and started kissing my neck. I grinned like an idiot but didn't move as he tried to seduce me.

The next morning I woke up with a big smile on my face. Our first morning in our first house together. I sat up on the bed and looked around the empty room. Then my eyes landed on Tony who was dead asleep next to me. I reached close to touch his cheek and watched as his eyes fluttered open. He flashed a tired smile before burying his face in his pillow and letting out a groan.

I watched as he slowly lifted his head up and ruffled his hair. He rubbed his eyes and reached for his glasses that were on the floor. He put them on and sat up and yawned. Then, without a warning, he tackled me to the bed and ended up laying on top of me.

And before I could react in any way, he had already pressed his lips tightly against mine. I parted my lips and allowed him to kiss me with all he had.

And, as he did so, I knew right away where it was going. His left hand, while the right one was caressing my cheek, was traveling down my body until it found what it was looking. Instead of touching me, he just positioned himself between my legs and pushed himself roughly into me, slamming his hips against mine and so began our first sex session in our very own house.

Tony promised me that we would spend the whole day together and I was excited. I hadn't really spent that many days with him, just by ourselves, and couldn't wait to do everything together with him. Since our house was still empty, apart from our bed and some empty pizza boxes and wine bottles on the floor, we had to go shopping and buy furniture.

So after getting ready, we headed out. After spending hours buying all sorts of things, I was exhausted but still excited and really happy. Things were finally going so well, I thought, as we sat in Tony's car and drove back home. And I would get to spend all day with him, just by ourselves. We could go out to eat dinner and maybe watch a movie and just hang out, you know, do all sorts of things we normally didn't have time to do.

Tony's phone started ringing and as he was driving he told me to pick up. I didn't recognize the number so I lifted the phone up to my ear and answered with a hello.

”Hello? Is Tony there?” Some guy was on the other line.

”Tony, I don't know who it is,” I whispered. Tony sighed and grabbed the phone from me.

”Yeah? Oh, hey. No, that was my girlfriend... Really, right now? Look, man, I'm kind of busy... Yes it's important, no I can't come. Fuck, man... Fine, okay. Okay.” After ending the call, he put his phone away and sighed deeply.

”Listen, Abby...” He quickly looked at me before turning his eyes back to the road again.

”What?”

”I have to be somewhere. I'll drop you off at home and I promise I will be back really soon, okay?” he said quietly and rested his hand on my thigh.

”What? Why do you have to leave? I thought you said that you would spend the whole day with me,” I whined and furrowed my eyebrows.

”I know and I'm sorry, babe. I just really have to go,” he said and pouted.

”Fine,” I mumbled and looked away from him.

Tony left me and all the stuff we had bought at our house before leaving. And as I carried all the stuff inside alone, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. It was supposed to be our day and now he was out somewhere doing who knows what.

I sighed and set down a box of wine glasses. I sat down on the floor and buried my face in my hands. I had a feeling that it wouldn't be the last time this would happen. Surely Tony's job and friends and hobbies would always be more important to him than I was.

When the clock hit 11 that night, I was ready to go to bed. Tony hadn't called nor texted me and, honestly, I was so frustrated and angry at him that I didn't even care anymore. I turned off the lights and climbed in to the bed and then closed my eyes before drifting into sleep.

I woke up to the sound of the front door opening. My eyes shot wide open and I checked the time from my phone. 03:34.

I rubbed my eyes for a moment and soon saw Tony standing in the doorway.

”Did I wake you up?” he whispered. I nodded.

”Sorry,” he mumbled and turned on the lights.

I watched as he took off his coat and jeans before turning off the lights and joining me in bed. He tried to pull me into his arms but I refused to get close to him. He froze when he realized that everything was not okay.

”Abby, if you're mad that I couldn't spend time with you today then – ”

”I'm not mad that you couldn't spend time with me. I'm mad because you promised me we could be together today,” I muttered quietly.

”I'm sorry, okay? But what do you expect me to do? Our tour manager called me and we had a meeting and I just couldn't miss it.”

”Do you have any idea what time it is? It's almost four in the morning! No meeting lasts until four in the fucking morning!” I exclaimed and sat up.

”I already apologized... What more do you want me to do?”

”I don't know and, frankly, I don't even care anymore.”

”Come on, Abby, don't be like that,” he muttered.

”No, you know what? I'm sick of being alone. I'm sick of being in a relationship with somebody whose other interests are more important than their own girlfriend!”

”What?”

”You always choose your friends or hobbies over me.”

”No I don't. You're not being fair, Abby.”

”Well you're not being fair, either! Why didn't you come home earlier? Where were you all night?”

”I was... Out with my friends...”

”See? You want to know what I was doing? I was here, alone, doing nothing all night!” I shouted.

I didn't like fighting or shouting, not one bit, but somehow it now felt relieving to let it all out.

”I'm sorry, babe, I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say,” he said and tried to grab my hand. I pushed his arm away and got out of the bed.

”Where are you going, Abby?” Tony called after me as I was about to leave. Then I stopped.

”I'm going to sleep on the couch!” I exclaimed and grabbed my pillow.

”We don't have a couch...”

”Then give me your car keys. I'm sleeping in the car,” I muttered. As he didn't make a move, I went to his jeans and grabbed his keys from the pocket.

”You're being ridiculous, Abby,” Tony told me.

”I don't care.” I stormed out of our bedroom and out of the house. I marched to Tony's car and got in and once I sat there, on the backseat, I let out a deep sigh.

The lights were still on in our bedroom five minutes later and I knew Tony hadn't gone to sleep yet.

Then suddenly the lights went out and I waited a few minutes for something to happen. As nothing did, I figured that he had gone to sleep. I tried to get more comfortable on the backseat and rested my head against the pillow. But, for some odd reason, I couldn't sleep. The seat wasn't comfortable at all, I hated fighting and I missed being close to my boyfriend. But most of all, I missed home, my real home.
