Damn Sure

chapter one

Vic didn’t actually want to get drunk, he hadn’t gone out for the night with that intention. It was just that he felt so out of his element in the dark club full of pretty people and he was too shy to talk to anyone and really, he probably shouldn’t have gone out alone in the first place. He was just so fucking sick of sitting alone in his room waiting for something to happen.

The problem was that he was Vic. He was careful and shy and it wasn’t that he didn’t like socializing, he loved talking to new people, he just didn’t know how to be himself in a place like this. So he drank until he didn’t feel like himself any more.

He wasn’t so much wasted as a little drunk. Drunk enough to leave the bar and head instead to the crowded floor where the air was thick with sweat and dancing bodies. Drunk enough that when a tan guy a few inches taller than him with dark, poofy hair and a full sleeve of tattoos and oh god, dimples, smiled at him he didn’t run back to the safety of the bar to hide behind another drink. Instead, he sidestepped dancing couples to make his way closer to him. He was really pretty. It was unfair how pretty he was, while still being hot enough that Vic kind of wanted to lick his dimples or something, he didn’t even know.

Pretty guy was moving towards him too and when they were standing in front of each other and he gave Vic another devilish smile, moving to the loud, beating music. “Hi,” he practically yelled, leaning close to Vic’s ear to be heard over the music. “I’m Jaime!” he said it like hi-me and wow, even his voice was ridiculously attractive.

“Vic,” he replied, leaning in to reply and maybe brushing his lips against Jaime’s ear a little bit in the process. Vic liked this whole not feeling like himself thing, maybe he should take his younger brothers advice and drink more often.

“So you should come home with me...” Jaime is even closer now and judging from the smell on his breath he isn’t exactly sober either which makes sense, no one would be inviting him home sober, especially with this kind of ridiculous forwardness. But his hands are suddenly on Vic’s hips and sliding slowly lower and just yeah, why not.

“I should,” Vic agrees and that’s all it takes before he’s being lead outside by this beautiful boy with the beaming 1,000 watt smile and toned arms and calloused fingers holding Vic’s own and he can’t help but think that that if this guy fucks even half as well as he smiles then this is going to be a very good night.

They walk quickly down almost deserted roads bathed in orange street light for fifteen minutes or so, not saying much. The cold night air and the walk should probably be sobering him up a bit but the buzz of anticipation is pretty much all he can feel and the way Jaime pauses for a few seconds to nudge him up against the side of a building and kiss his neck or his lips like he simply can’t wait is driving Vic crazy in the best way.

He can tell they’re starting to get close when Jaime speeds up, fingers rubbing softly over Vic’s with their linked hands. After what seems like no time at all but still way too fucking long Jaime’s fishing in his pocket and pulling out a key card and they’re inside the apartment building and waiting for the lift and their hands aren’t linked any more but that’s only because Vic’s hands are in Jaime’s hair and pulling him down and fuck yes is all he can think, on a constant loop in his head because this is happening.

The lift pings and they pull apart long enough to check that no one’s inside and step in. Jaime presses the button for his floor and then he’s got Vic pressed up against the wall, tugging gently on his long hair and bending down enough that he can kiss his neck, sinking his teeth in just a little every so often and grinding against him and yes.

Vic doesn’t even register when the lift jolts to a stop on the correct floor and the doors open but (fortunately or unfortunately, he can’t decide which) Jaime notices and walks them out backwards, his arms now slung around Vic’s waist. To say this wasn’t how he’d been expecting the night to go when he’d gone out for the night would be the understatement of the century and he’s really not sure how this happened but in the best way possible.

Jaime’s releasing him again and turning, stepping away and Vic can’t help but make a little whining noise in the back of his throat because no, come back but then he realises that they’re outside what must be Jaime’s apartment and he’s opening the door and taking Vic’s hand, leading him inside. They’re back in each other’s arms before the door had even clicked closed.
