I walked with Vic and Jaime as we made our way to our fifth period: Home Ec.
"I think Luke and Edgar have this class too," I said.
"Jaime and Eddy will be talking soccer in Spanish, most likely. And we, little lady, are gonna talk." Vic declared.
"Talk about what exactly?" I asked
"You'll see, hey Jaime,"
"Yeah man,"
"That romantic night we had, I think we got a little carried away. I can feel a kick in my stomach," joked Vic rubbing his flat tummy. I wish had one of those, I thought.
"Holy shit! I'm not ready for a kid," Jaime played along.
"Well, I guess you should've worn a condom, tsk tsk my friend," I said.
As we walked in Ms. Williams class, I took my seat and thought about Tony. His awkwardness, his infinite passion for Star Wars, his long dark brown hair, his eyes, his everything. It just made me smile. I replayed everything he said to me in my head, just so I could pretend to hear his voice. Then I remembered how impossible it would me to have him call me his. He has a girlfriend. I wrinkled my nose in frustration.
"Danni, are you okay?"
I quickly turned my head to see Luke and Vic looking at me at different angels. Edgar and Jaime, like Vic said, were engaged in a conversation about soccer, but not in Spanish.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Cuz Vicky here(Vic gave him a nasty look) tells me you have a thing for Turtle?" Luke had a masculine voice, but the way he pronounced things made him sound feminine. I loved it. He turned to Vic,"Didn't you Vicky?"
"Don't call me Vicky man, and yes I did say that."
"Sorry my sexy beaner," said Luke, Vic did nothing but laugh.
"No man, I don't have a THING for Tony," I stated.
"Danni, come on its obvious. Even Jaime can tell. Hey Hime Time," Jaime turned around,"Doesn't Danni love Tony?"
"Yeah, man. Come on Dan it's pretty obvious. Even I know that."
"Dammit,"I mumble," So he knows?"
"No," Vic answered," Tony may be smart but he's an idiot when it comes to girls. Like how he believes Stephanie's 'sick'."
I frowned," Steph's not sick? What?"
"Of course she's not. That beyotch is cheating on Tone Tone. Been doing it for a while to."
"How the fuck do you know?"
"Me, Jaime, and Mike called her house to wish her good luck on getting better but no one answered."
"Well, maybe she was asleep. I do that."
"Well, Daniel my dear," Vic scooted towards me," one day I was late for Science class and-"
"Late or skipping," Luke intruded.
"Not the point, anyway, I was walking in the hall and I saw that skank sucking face with someone who didn't look like Tony. I actually know the guy, he's this douche in my Science class. His name's Dean."
My jaw dropped,"That bitch. This is gonna hurt Tony so bad. I can't even...I don't understand. This just sucks."
"Well, not for you," Luke stated, "He's all yours now."
"But, Luke" for some reason, I felt a lump in my throat,"this is wrong. I've seen Tony hurt...a lot, and I've only been his friend for a minute compared to how long they've been together. I can't, man, this just sucks so badly."
"Woah hey," Vic looked at me,"are you crying?"
"No, I'm not! Shut up, don't look at me!" I exclaimed while smiling. But this really did, suck.
