Queen For A Day

I consider myself to be a morning person. I generally wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start the day, I often even wake up with the sun and watch it rise from my balcony. This morning, however was the complete opposite. I woke up ready to throw my brains up and I practically did. Since there was nothing left in my stomach from last night, I dry retched over the toilet for a good ten minutes before the feeling faded. Mariah sat with me again, since Fay can’t cope with seeing people throw up. Even though she’d usually deny that and just come up with some excuse to avoid the situation. I walked out of the bathroom at 10:45 with a blotchy red face and messy hair.
“Shit Carl, you look hung over,” Fay stated, staring at me from the dining table.
“Thank you,” I groaned, feeling oddly hungry. I sauntered my way to the kitchen opening the fridge and food cupboards without finding anything I wanted.
“Cali you want me to make you anything?” Mariah asked gently.
“I feel hungry, but I also feel like I’m about to throw up.” I complained. Mariah stood there thoughtfully with one hand on her hip and the other on her chin.
“Maybe just drink some juice or milk for now, then when you’re feeling better have some food,” She is going to go places this one. Good thing she wants to be a nurse I guess.. She handed me a glass of chilled water which I took gratefully.
“Listen Cali, I’ve gotta go to college in half an hour and Fay’s going to work soon, will you be ok by yourself?” Mariah looked at me gently.
“Yeah, don’t worry about me. I don’t have any lessons booked today. I probably just need a quiet day by myself to get over whatever illness I have.” I tried to muster up a confident smile, but I felt like I was going to throw up again. Fay could tell it was fake and frowned at me without saying anything, but Mariah seemed to believe it. She’s a super caring person, but also really easy to fool. After my two friends left I made myself a cup of tea and carried my laptop to my bedroom. A nice relaxing day of watching chick flicks is all I needed. I chucked my laptop down and placed my tea on the bedside table. Now where is my phone?... I spotted it on the other bedside table plugged in and charging so I leaned over to grab it.
“Shit,” I muttered as the object slipped from my hand and fell under my bed. I swear I’m so clumsy. I lay across my bed and reached blindly into the abys that is the space under my bed. I somehow found my phone, but right next to it was a piece of paper which I curiously picked up. The piece of paper seemed to be ripped off something and there was scratchy cursive writing on one side.

I gasped and dropped the note like it was poison. I slept with Vic.. Fuck. Oh shit. I could barely process my thoughts as my head started to hurt again. I think I’m going to throw up.
And I did.
I threw up until I cried and was left slumped in the bathroom covered in a slight sweat. Could I be pregnant? Fuck that would make so much sense if I was… come to think of it my period was due yesterday. I’m so fucked.
