A tattooed hand brushed against the leather arm rest while the other grabbed another beer. The soft sounds of the TV were drowned as the bottle was pressed against a pair of lips. Slowly, alcohol made its way down the back of his throat; quenching his thirst.

What had started out as a small habit quickly grew into an everyday routine. First he would open the door, only be welcomed into an empty house. Next, he would remove his shoes and place his car keys down on the coffee table along with a brand new case of beer. Changing clothes never crossed his mind after arriving home. The thought always left his mind whenever drinking was involved.

Drowning all of his daily stress and thoughts by drinking, it was almost as if life couldn't get any better
from there. But it didn't. Instead it worsened with each single passing day. A sigh left Tony's lips after they parted once more from the drink he was holding.

His life hadn't always been this way. What started as a fun joy ride suddenly turned into a rollercoaster from hell. Every day he constantly wished he could travel back in time to simpler days as a replacement for the down spiral of a life he currently faced.

The beautiful sound of laughter used to fill his ears but now TV shows did. No matter how much he tried, he still couldn't accept closure; he wasn't going to. Every bone in his body yearned for his significant other's return but in his heart he knew it wasn't going to happen.

She was gone just like everyone and everything else in his life.
