Tonight I'll Make You Feel Beautiful Once Again

It's been a week and the new guy hasn't said one word yet. Our unit is at dinner right now and he is sitting all alone in the back corner of the cafeteria. I looked down at my tray and I haven't touched one thing of my food. Oh well. I looked around the table that I'm sitting at and realize that I'm not friends with anyone. I barely even talk to them. I grab my tray and dump every thing away except for my jello cup. I walk over to Victor's table and stand behind one of the chairs. "Hello. My name is Jadeyn. But you can call me Jade if you want." I introduced myself. He just stared at me. "Well, anyways, here is my jello cup if you want it. It's cherry. I know that stage one patients aren't allowed to pick their food yet." I slid the jello cup to him. It stopped right in front of Victor. He still didn't say anything. "Okay. Well, I'll be over there." I started to walk away feeling a little hurt from him ignoring me.

"Vic. I'm Vic." I heard from behind me. I turned around in disbelief. He looked at my face and studied it for a second. "Want to sit down?" I nodded and walked over to the chair next to him and sat down. "Thanks by the way. For the jello." He tried his best to smile at me.

"Well you're welcome. I remember how scary my first week here was."

"How long have you been here?"

"Two months. It sucks. I hate it here so much." He gave me a look of understanding. Just then, one of the staff came into the cafeteria to bring us back to our ward.
