Wonderless

I'm sitting in the waiting room, holding Victor. He's playing with the hem of my shirt. I have silent tears rolling down my face. Everything is in slow motion. Everyone is rushing around me, but I can't hear anything. I just stare at my son. I don't know what's wrong with my baby girl. They won't tell me anything. I don't know if she's alive. I don't know what happened. She just stopped breathing. My baby girl. I'm brought back into reality when I feel someone shaking me. I look up and see Vic. Suddenly I can hear everything around me. I can hear someone crying, and then I realize that it's me. I guess I wasn't so silent after all.

"What did the doctor's say?" I whispered out to my brother-in-law.

"She's stable. She's okay. The doctors will be out shortly to talk to you about what happened." I started bawling and so did Vic. He looked me in the eyes. "She's going to be okay, Trin. Our baby is going to be okay." He kissed me on the forehead and grabbed his nephew. He sat down next to me and I put my head on his shoulder. "I just called Tone and Hime, they will be here soon.'

"Anything from Mike?" I asked hopeful.

"Nothing." I sighed and looked up. I saw Alex's doctor coming towards us.

"Trinity Fuentes?" He asked me.

"Yes, I'm Alexandria's mom."

"Your daughter is doing just fine now. You're lucky you found her when you did."

"What happened?" Vic asked the doctor.

"It seems that your niece has asthma. Usually it doesn't make children stop breathing in their sleep, but it can happen. I would suggest making sure you check on her periodically when you can take her home."

"Thank you doctor." I shook his hand and he walked away.

"Trinity!" I heard a familiar voice. My head shot up and I saw my husband looking around for me in a frenzy.

"Mike?" I said loudly. Mike looked over to me and ran to me. He grabbed me in his arms and I sobbed into his chest. I could feel his body shake as he cried. I pulled away just enough to look into his beautiful eyes. "She's okay. Our baby girl is going to be just fine."

"She is?" He asked with a sob. I nodded and he kissed me. He really kissed me. I haven't felt his lips on mine in a month. I melted into him. I miss my husband.
