"I promised that I'd be the best man for you and our children. I let you down. You deserve the world. You deserve a man who puts you first. Our babies deserve a father who is always there for them and who won't let anyone hurt them. They deserve a father who doesn't hurt their mother everyday. You don't deserve to be treated the way you do. You shouldn't have to cry yourself to sleep every night. And that is why I have to leave you, Trin. I love you so much, and that's why I need to do what's best. What's best for all three of you." Mike was crying and holding onto my face, making me look him in the eyes. My heart broke over and over again to each word that he said to me.

"Mike, please don't do this. We need you. I need you. You're my best friend. Whatever is going on, we can work past. We always have. Please. Don't leave me." I was sobbing to my husband. He let go of my face and stood up from the bed where we were sitting. He took one more look at me and started to walk out the bedroom door. The further he got, the more the room started to blur. Everything around me turned dark.

I awoke with a start. The room was pitch black and I had tears running down my face. I reached over for my husband, but he wasn't there. Just like every night. I turned over and looked at my phone. 4 in the morning. I sighed and decided to go check on the kids. I got up and put my robe on. I crept down the hallway and peered into their room. Both of them were asleep. They looked so peaceful. How could Mike not want to be apart of this? Apart of their life. He really is a good dad to them, he just is so absent. I love him with all my heart though. Always have, always will. I walk over to Victor and rub his back. He stirs a little, but doesn't wake up. I walk over to Alex's bed. I sit down next to her sleeping body. She looks so calm and like she doesn't know what's going on with her father and I. But she does. She's so smart. And it makes me sad and mad at the same time. She shouldn't understand. She's so young and innocent. I hate that she is seeing this go on. I lean forward to kiss her forehead. She doesn't move at all. Doesn't stir or anything. That's not like her.

"Alex, baby." I whisper, shaking her a little bit. Still, nothing. My heart starts to race. "Alexandria!" I yell. I shake her a little harder and she still isn't responding. I put my fingers to her neck to feel her pulse, and it's slight. I run to my room and grab my phone. I dial 911.

"911, what's you emergency?"

"My daughter, she won't wake up and she barely has a pulse."

"Okay, stay calm. What's your name and address." I gave her my address.

"My name is Trinity Fuentes. My daughter is Alexandria Fuentes and she's 2 years old."

"Okay. I'm sending an ambulance to you. Help will be there shortly." I thanked her and hung up. My hands are shaking and I run back to Alex. I ring up Mike's cell. He doesn't answer. Which doesn't surprise me.

"Mike, answer the fucking phone. Your daughter isn't breathing and won't wake up. An ambulance is on it's way to the house."

Thank you. :) Have you read the story before this one? Because if you haven't, this story might get a little confusing.
