The Reason

I get up the next morning at 9:00 and lay in bed wondering if I did the right thing to say yes. Whatever, what's the worst that could happen? I get dressed and walk downstairs to eat breakfast. Tony somehow managed to talk dad into letting me skip school today, so I don't have to worry about dad yelling at me. I feed Char and brush my teeth when I hear the doorbell ring. That's probably Tony..
I open the door and see a dorky looking Tony Perry grinning like an idiot.

"Ready to go?" he says.

"Yeah." I shut the door and we get in Tony's car, begining the drive to my moms house.

"Hey Tone?"

"Yeeeeeeesss?"

"Why is it that you're closer to my mom than Mike, Jaime, and my dad?" I ask nervously.

"Well, your mom and I used to be best friends in high school. Then when the band started, I introduced her to Vic, they dated, got married, and then she had you. But when your parents marriage ended, I was still good friends with her and that leaves us where we are now." he explained. I nodded my head and the rest of the car ride was silent.

We soon arrived to a large, red, brick house. I guess I was was pale or was showing a sign of fear because Tony grabbed my hand and said, "Don't worry. Everything will be okay."
We walked up to the door step and Tony rang the bell. I felt myself go into a cold sweat. oh no...

From the other side of the door, I could hear faint taling, followed by the door unlocking. The door swung open, revealing the woman I saw before and a small pug by her feet. She smiled as she saw me and said, "Oh dear god! Look how beautiful you are!" She pulled me into a tight hug and I could feel Tony ginning behind me. I awkwardly hugged her back and looked down at my legs, seeing the little pug rubbing his torso against me.

"Hello sweetheart, my name is Kimberly but as you already know I'm your mom." she beamed. She doesn't seem as mean as I thought she would be...
"Um, h-hi.." I said shyly.

"Come on, don't be shy." Tony said., nudging me closer to her. We all stood at the doorway talking for a bit before Tony left. In an attempt to make me feel a bit more comfortable, she showed me around her house. She lives in a huge house all by herself, but it's a nice house too. The floor was either a nice kind of tile or pluch carpet and the walls were all beautiful shades of browns, greens and reds. We finished up pretty quick and we thought it would be a good idea to sit outside and talk since it was a beautiful day.

I sat down at a seat in the patio, when she brought out a little tea set.

"I made some tea if you want any. It's from france!" she said, setting it down on the small table next to me.

"Thanks." I said, grabbing a cup as her pug 'Puggles' sat on my lap.

"So Kitzie, this may seem strange considering the fact that we haven't met before since I'm your mom and you're fourteen, but what are you like? Can I know a little about you?" she said, sipping on tea.

"I like art, comic books and music. I'm a vegetarian and I'm a huge animal lover. Uh... I'm really quiet and don't really like a lot of attention." I said nervously. She laughed softly.

"You sound just like me when I was was your age."

"Really?"

"Yeah. My parents actually thought that there was something wrong with me when I was young because I hardly ever talked."

"Wow.."

We talked and laughed for a while. It felt... normal. Any hate I had for her at the beginning of the day had left because I felt so comfortable. Soon our day ended. Tony came to pick me up around 6:00 and he took me home. I can say that for sure that I feel a sense of comfort whenever I see her face now..
