High School Never Ends
Not All Bad
The next morning I awoke to the sound of my alarm. I slammed my hand down onto my phone, tapping every inch of the screen until it shut off. Groaning, I dragged myself out of bed, checking my phone for messages before getting ready. I don’t really know why, it’s not like I ever get texts. Today was different, though.

From: Amelia
“Looking forward to today? I know I am. We can finish what we started :)”
Fuck. I’d completely forgotten about yesterday.
I trundled down the stairs prepared to leave, when I noticed my mother passed out on the sofa. Quickly, I grabbed a blanket from my room, covered her with it and kissed her forehead before leaving the house. Shoving my earphones in, I began the walk to school. With every thought about Amelia, I turned the volume up by one. Once I’d reached maximum the outside world was completely muted to me.
All of a sudden, I felt something hit me in the face. Confused, I looked around me when I noticed a car pulled up next to me, with Mike hanging out the window. I pulled my earphones.
“What did you throw at me?” I asked
“Hm? Oh, a peanut. Want some?”
“No, I don’t want any! What do you want?”
“Not a morning person, ey?”
I turned and walked a few steps away from the car when Mike called out again.
“Okay, okay! Sorry. I was going to ask if you wanted a lift?”
“From you? Nah, I’m good.”
“Vic’s driving! There’s less chance of you dying.”
I glanced over to the driver’s seat where Vic was sat. He just rolled his eyes at me and I smirked back.
“I’m good walking.”
“Okay, then.”
I turned to walk away, when I heard a car door slam shut. Suddenly Mike was trundling beside me as Vic drove off.
“Eh, what are you doing?” I asked him
“You said you were good walking, soooo… I thought I’d walk with you.”
“You don’t give up do you?”
“Well, I am told I’m determined.” He grinned at me
For the first time in a while, I smiled a genuine happy smile. Maybe he’s not as bad as I thought.
please keep going or do a sequel!
