Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light

From Hence Your Memory, Death Cannot Take

Thursday, December Twentieth, 4:24 P.M…

I have been a good girl, a good little girl, but they did not fall for it. No. I am stuck.

Ever since the events of Saturday night, I have been waiting for these moments. I have been good so they will stop choking me on the leash in my bunk. They kept me there at all times, never bothering to let me out. I barely got a chance to freshen up in the bathroom, I hadn’t had a shower since Monday, and my hair was a mess.

Gabe was in charge of taking care of me.

I was in constant misery. Any normal person would want to end their life here, bleed out on the floor in front of the band, or maybe escape through the window as the bus hurtled down the highway at seventy miles an hour. No, no, I had a special visitor today.

I would be meeting Ricky once again.

And I would beginning the next phase of my plan, the one to seek vengeance upon Motionless in White.

But, I must be careful. They were a dangerous band, a dangerous band indeed. They will hurt me. They said that they would bring their ‘tools’ to keep me in line. They would seriously hurt me.

But I will not let them have the pleasure of getting to hurt me. I will keep a straight face, or I will smile, as if enjoying it as well. But I was nervous to see Ricky, and Ghost. I enjoy Ghost’s presence. He isn’t bad, but he hasn’t been caring like Ricky, he is a middle man.

“Rory, haul your lazy ass up.” Jesse growled. I grumbled but rolled over. I stepped out of my bunk, tempted to reach towards my chain collar, but not quite wanting to tempt my chances of them not seeing me.

“Coming, sir.” I yawned from my quick nap. I walked out of the bunk, stretching on sore legs. Jesse pushed me forward to the front lounge. The bus pulled onto an exit, continuing to roll towards a small town off in the distance of the planes in Utah.

“Sit.” Gabe ordered me. I did as I was told and sat in front of him. I really wish I could have taken a shower, but soon enough, soon enough, I wouldn’t have to worry about it.

Gabe silently brushed through my hair, trying to make it smooth. My thoughts wandered to Jason. He was in a truck behind us. He had gone under cover and was going to be trailing us. I would give him a signal as soon as I could and Jason said that he might be able to buy me some time and get me a ride to The Restless Wanderer in Arizona.

I sure hope I don’t have to walk all the way there.

I played with my hands silently, looking down and lacing and unlacing my fingers together. To be honest, I was a little nervous about Ricky and the others getting on the bus.

But I was more nervous for another encounter with Ryan.

“They’re here.” Justin announced as we pulled over into an empty parking lot. The Motionless in White bus was already waiting for us. My stomach clenched up in terror.

It was exactly five on the dot when the bus was parked and there was a short knock on our door. Gabe pushed me up onto the couch as my old owners appeared on the bus. I could barely look up to meet their eyes. Outside, I was calm. Inside, my stomach was doing flips and I was dizzy as hell.

“Rory?” The very first voice questioned. I tried to look up and meet his eyes. It was Ricky. Of course, the very first person just had to be Ricky! I felt tears prick at my eyes.

No, no, Rory! This was one of the men that kept you hostage! Why did you ever feel emotion for him! My sense kept screaming at me. Before, it felt like my mind, my heart, my senses had been numb. Now, it was like they came back to life.

“Sir?” I asked. He smiled, the familiar, Ricky smile. Only he had that grin that seemed sideways but made me spin all at the same time.

“Hello again, Orion.” The others malevolently chorused as the climbed onto the bus. One look in Chris’ eyes and I was done for. I kept my calm look, but leaned back into the couch cushions.

“So tell me about the little pet.” Chris growled as they all settled in. Ricky came and sat down right next to me. No one complained. I crawled into his lap as he held out his hands, burying my face into the side of his neck.

He was a friendly face, well, friendly as he could possibly be.

“I missed you so much.” He whispered to me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pressing my face against his collarbone.

“I missed you to, sir.” I choked out. He took a shuddering breath, as if he couldn’t believe it. His hands pressed me closer to him. His lips gently kissed my cheek and he turned down to see me. I shivered as his cool breath kissed my skin.

“I’m so sorry for whatever they do to you.” He murmured. I turned away to look him in the eyes, fear flickering across my face. He couldn’t even hold my eyes for longer than a second. I went back to burying my face into his chest.

“It’s time to let go of the pet, Ricky.” Chris commanded. After a slight hesitation, Ricky gently pushed me off his lap, making me stand in front of Chris. I felt his eyes trace the bruises and scratches on the sides of my legs. Balz held a large tub filled with…toys.

“I heard you’ve been a naughty little girl for your Masters.” Chris purred lowly. I nodded, hesitantly. As I looked around, I saw that the SWS boys had evacuated the bus. It was just down to Motionless, Balz, Ricky, and I. Ryan wasn’t on the bus. I thought I saw him talking with the others outside. Ghost stood next to him.

“What did you do, Orion?” Balz questioned, his haunting eyes piercing mine. There must’ve been too long of a pause because a whip flicked out, lashing my face. I dropped to one knee in surprise.

“Answer me, girl.” Chris snarled. I stood back up, finally facing him.

I never got a chance to finish my poem from the last day. Plus, I think it’s time for my next phase to go into action. I would finally seek revenge against MIW. It would be wonderful.

Good men, their last wave by, crying how bright-“

I said answer me!” Chris howled and the whip flicked again. I felt blood drip down my cheek. My lip was starting to puff up. I glanced to Ricky, who looked sad.

“Just tell him, Rory.” Ricky quietly pleaded. Balz was glaring at me, but there was a spark of, excitement? Was he excited that I was disobeying a master? He smirked a little wider.

Their frail deeds might have danced in green bay…” I murmured on, loud enough for all of them to hear. Chris roared in fury and flickered the whip across my shoulder until I was crying in pain. He wouldn’t stop until he had his answer.

“Please! Just answer him!” Ricky pleaded. I threw him a wry glance.

“TELL ME!” He yelled. I felt another slash that made me hiss in pain.

Rage! Rage against the dying of the light!” I hissed to Chris, cackling in laughter. I love how frustrated he got. It brought me pleasure, despite him trying to bring me down. I was already on my knees, letting out tears of pain that mixed with my laughter.

“How do you like it now?” He growled as he swooped down, grabbing my throat and squeezing as hard as he dared. I was slammed against a wall, whimpering in pain. I gasped and wiggled under his tight fingers.

“I think that’s enough.” Ricky held up his hands, trying to calm Chris. My face was pale and I saw enough stars to create a million constellations.

“NO! Just because you loved her once does not mean she is the same girl!” Chris howled. Balz looked a little panicked. My eyes fluttered closed. I let out a last little sigh.

“They didn’t want her killed!” Balz came and shoved Chris off. I slumped to the floor, a headache pounding my skull like war drums. Ricky rushed to my side. I couldn’t move, gasping for air. The stars faded one by one.

“You’re right, you’re right. We’ll just have to get some toys out.” Chris chuckled darkly. Balz sighed and went to the box. Ricky’s hands gently cupped my face, staring into my eyes. I couldn’t focus on anything. My eyes fluttered closed again.

“Rory? Rory! Can you hear me?” He asked. I gasped for more air, letting the sweet oxygen fill my lungs. Ricky kept on yelling my name, waiting for me to reply.

“Trust me, this will get her going.” Chris chuckled. Before anyone could react, I felt hot pain sear my sides, my eyes popped open as all my nerves were zapped at once. It felt like an eternity before it was over. I screamed in pain, more tears coming out of my eyes. My headache increased.

“Give her time to recover, Chris!” Ricky begged. As soon as it’s touch was removed, I looked to see what had happened. Chris had used a cattle prod on me.

Oh, the pain.

“Rory obviously needs another lesson on how to behave.” Chris growled. I howled in agony as the cattle prod was shoved against my side once again. I might as well be dead. The two little prods caused me more pain than I thought possible.

When the second round of shock was done, I was a mess, sobbing on the floor. My resolve had almost completely disappeared, Ricky touched me, but I yelped loudly. Each little touch made me feel like I was being shocked all over again.

“Enough!” Ricky shouted, throwing his body before mine. Chris snarled.

“Get out of the way, Rick.” The screamer threatened. I could barely move without pain shooting through every part of me. I lay helplessly on the ground before the couch.

“Let’s save the rest for tomorrow. We can teach her another lesson tomorrow.” Ricky shakily explained. There was a thud as the cow prod was tossed back into the box. Everything was one fire.

“I still didn’t get my answer. I’ll ask again: What did you do?” Chris leaned over me. Ricky passed me a nervous look.

“I took revenge, asshole.” I chuckled before passing out.

Aw, I know dear! It was so much fun to write this story, but eventually, it had to end! Feel free to reread it if you wish...I know I will be rereading it! I'll have a new story up soon, but I'm going to focus on finishing up some of my other works in progress as well.
(Hint hint: Look for a story called The Miraculous Second Life of Blue Eyes...I think you'll enjoy it and I'll get the first chapter posted soon enough! :))

They're so cute! *Sigh* I just wish this wasn't over but I guess all good things must come to an end...I just wish it didn't have to be that way, I love this too much to let it go and tbh I doubt I will forget this anytime soon. <3
