Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light

Since Dark is What Brings Out Your Light...

Monday, 3:01 P.M…..

The new Masters had led me to the bus, chains and all. In the short ten steps between the MIW and SWS bus, I had quickly developed a plan. I could modify it as the occasion called for, but otherwise, I could do whatever I wanted to seek my revenge.

It was all written out there, right in my head. No one could get into my head.

They had shown me around, shown me my new bunk, and laid out the rules. Don’t worry, don’t worry….they’ll all be broken in due time.

Soft music was playing through the speakers as Jesse drove the bus. I stretched out into Gabe’s lap, playing out false smiles as he ran his fingers through my long hair. Kellin had me take out my usual ponytail, saying that it was mandatory. Silver and black were fading out of my hair. Blonde roots were starting to reappear. Hopefully, they won’t notice until it’s too late…

Gabe sat happily on the couch as I lay down, my head in his lap. I hummed in fake happiness as I pretended that I was actually enjoying this.

How easily the beginners are deceived.

“It looks like Rory has taken a liking to you, Gabe.” Kellin pointed out. Gabe smiled as I closed my eyes. He leaned down and kissed my forehead. I let out a small giggle of “happiness”.

“She used to take a liking to Ricky, or so Balz had told me.” Jack added. I made no other movements, but my heart was fluttering like mad. I pulled Gabe’s right hand into my own, linking my fingers through his.

“Oh, do tell what Balz has said.” Kellin chuckled. It was like two gossiping girls. Kellin looked up from his phone to get more involved in the conversation. The overhead lights glared from the sun.

“Well, it seems to be that Ricky got a little too attached to his little pet. She would sleep in his bunk almost every night, and she was always by his side.” Jack gossiped on. Kellin passed a quick look to me before smirking.

“I take it that he wasn’t too pleased we bought her?” Justin added in. I shivered and wiggled as Gabe ran his fingers down my ribs lightly.

“Oh no, he’s pretty upset, apparently. Chris offered a new girl to him, but he’s declined.” Jack read off of a text. I flickered my glance between him and Gabe, trying to size them up. Maybe, I could take them both at once…

I snuggled up into Gabe’s chest, trying to reaffirm that these words didn’t bother me, when in truth, they did. He continued to link and unlink his fingers through mine. I smiled into his shirt.

“Maybe we’ll have to bring her back for a visit sometime.” Jesse chuckled, talking about me as if I wasn’t even there.

“Maybe.” Kellin muttered, going back to whatever was so important on his phone. The bus slid to a stop just outside a gas station. I watched as everyone got up. I threw my legs over the edge of the couch and saw as Gabe stood up.

“I have to get gas for the tank.” Jesse announced before skipping out of the bus. Kellin, Gabe, Justin, and Jack were all standing and waiting for someone to move. I felt the collar around my throat grow heavy.

“I need to go get groceries and money from the ATM.” Gabe and Justin said before walking out. It seemed like everyone didn’t want to be stuck on this bus anymore.

“Kellin, one of us should stay here.” Jack said. Kellin nodded. I stood up lazily, yawning softly.

“I’ll be no trouble, sirs. Just lock me in my bunk. I’ll be fine.” I smiled seductively. Kellin fell for it and nodded. Jack just face-palmed and walked out, muttering that he had to go do some laundry. Kellin kissed my forehead before leaving. The chains were all locked up.

“We’ll be back in an hour.” He winked before going out. I rolled over, acting like I was just going to fall asleep.

As soon as the door shut, I waited, mentally singing lyrics to some Of Mice and Men song. As soon as I was finished, I reached up and unchained myself, throwing the collar off. I stretched as I stood up.

Seriously, they thought a chain would stop me from getting up? They thought that I would actually like this and behave? The errors that beginners make astounds me.

And now, they will pay the price for their error.

A smirk grew to a full out evil grin in the matter of seconds. I laughed for a moment, enjoying the freedom. Checking out each window, I saw that Jesse was done putting gas in the tank. In fact, he was walking towards the gas station. Jesse was apparently known to be a long shopper, so I had a feeling he wouldn’t be back for a while, or maybe even meet up with one of the others.

I had plenty of time.

So they want to treat me like a pet, right? So I’m just a dog now? I’m just some pet to be played and trained?

If they wanted a bitch, they’ll get one.

I ripped open cabinets, throwing paper everywhere, spilling stacks of coffee sugar and tearing open the cabinets. I made a mess and ripped the napkins to shreds. I threw whatever I wanted. I fought the room as if I was fighting for my life. The cabinets were all thrown open. I didn’t really want to live in a puddle, so I avoided spilling too much liquids. I took Kellin’s backpack and tossed all the papers everywhere and followed suit with the rest of the band member’s packs. It was utter mayhem. Pillow cushions were strewn across the room after I kicked them off. The curtains were shut. No one could see my panic.

As I tore through one cabinet, I found all their limited torture devices. Only a whip plus the chain leash.

“Tsk, tsk, boys! You’re so cute when you try.” I chuckled darkly and took them out. My time was going to run out soon. What was I going to do with these? I wanted to destroy them somehow, but how?

I looked at the door with the torture devices in my arms. I could run, escape now.

But no, I hadn’t had my fun yet! This was just the beginning. They were too stupid to know that they should never leave their “pet” home alone. We always escape.

Always.

So for their punishment, I won’t run away. Nope! You heard me. I won’t run! I needed them. But why? Have you gone insane? No, not yet!

Sleeping with Sirens is my gate way to the BMTH and MIW boys. Those were the people that really had to pay. If I left now, where was the satisfaction in that? No, I won’t leave yet.

I’ll just make this as hard as hell for them.

“Good luck, boys.” I laughed as I walked outside. The door was locked, but it was nothing a bobby pin couldn’t handle. I always had one in a pocket of mine. I kept the door open a crack as I scurried behind the building, careful to keep out of site, and throw away the cruel device. With a devilish smirk, I returned the to the bus.

When I got back, I took a relaxed position on the bare couch, smirking the entire time. When I heard footsteps, I knew the show was about to start.

Aw, I know dear! It was so much fun to write this story, but eventually, it had to end! Feel free to reread it if you wish...I know I will be rereading it! I'll have a new story up soon, but I'm going to focus on finishing up some of my other works in progress as well.
(Hint hint: Look for a story called The Miraculous Second Life of Blue Eyes...I think you'll enjoy it and I'll get the first chapter posted soon enough! :))

They're so cute! *Sigh* I just wish this wasn't over but I guess all good things must come to an end...I just wish it didn't have to be that way, I love this too much to let it go and tbh I doubt I will forget this anytime soon. <3
