Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light

The Breeze-The Breath of God-is Still

Monday, 6:04 A.M…

I grinned wickedly in the bunk, curled up against Ricky’s side. Thoughts danced through my mind. There were so many opportunities. So many to choose from…They were making this way too easy.

It had been a couple days since Kellin first came on the bus. The entire band had cycled through. I had made my little impressions on each of them. I was good. I had been a good girl.

Using my manners, making sure to clean up, and always smiling, I took each demonstration in stride. I was good. I was good. I was good.

Death constantly cackled in my ear, whispering that I deserved to die. However, I shoved that bastard aside and made my own way.

Ever since Chris had practiced punishing me and demonstrated the different types of torture, I had thought. Thinking is dangerous…for them.

I am a smart, clever, quick girl. They might have made me feel like I was a slave, nothing more than a pet, but I promised myself that I would get my revenge on all those that have or wished to harm me, to make me feel little, or otherwise attack my wellbeing.

I would be strong.

I won’t let them bring me down anymore.

I will fight back, no matter what.

And it all starts with…Sleeping with Sirens.

The door opened quietly. Ricky gently shook my arm. I turned to him and smiled, trying to fake being tired. He kissed my nose and I hummed softly. His arms held me close for a moment, a very bittersweet moment.

“Are you ready, Little One?” He asked me. I nodded, ready to move one. We crawled out of the bunk. I nuzzled Ricky’s shoulder as he stood up. Gently handing me the sweatshirt, Rick winked.

“It’s there.” He whispered, leaning close, his cool breath kissing my ear. I nodded and thanked him softly. We made our way to the lounge, where everyone was waiting.

“Good, you’re up!” Chris chuckled. The SWS guys were all lounging together on one couch. Kellin eyed me as I walked up. The silver collar jingled hesitantly on my neck. Rick hand on hand firmly placed on my shoulder. My current owners were leaning against assorted places in the stilled bus.

The sun outside was just poking above the horizon. I took a deep breath, ready for the band’s final decision. Was I being sold or not? I thought it had been a done deal since day one, but apparently they needed to confirm it.

“Hello, Rory.” Gabe smiled. I returned the gesture, plastering a false emotion onto my lips.

“Good morning, sir.” I nodded.

“So are you ready to decide?” Chris asked. The other band silently exchanged glances as I leaned into Ricky’s side. He kissed the top of my head. I would be sad to leave him, but I could get over the loss.

Sure, Ricky had been kind. We had rough patches, but we got through those. Ultimately, only he and Ghost had been kind through my run with these boys. Jack winked at me, distracting me from the memories.

“I think we’ve all come to a pretty unanimous decision,” Justin started. I kept my eyes trained at a single dot on the floor. Thank goodness for remembering my manners.

“And?” Vin questioned.

“How much?” Jack asked with a cheeky smile. I swallowed hard, knowing this would be the last day to see Rick.

“Fifteen hundred.” Chris beamed. I knew he was expecting this answer. They had “trained” me well. I was worth this pricy cost. Kellin nodded and they all flipped out their wallet, quickly shelling out the money. I put my hands into my pockets and traced the edge of my ipod with the tip of my index finger.

“Great. Thanks for the help.” They all chorused and stood up. In the blink of an eye, it was done. I was sold for the second time. I was with my third owners. I’d be moving on.

But this moving on would come with a good dose of revenge. I would start to plan my way home and have some…fun…in the process.

“Goodbye, Little One.” Ricky murmured, holding me close. I looked up to him and kissed his cheek.

“Goodbye, sir.” I smiled. He pressed his lips to my forehead as I pulled away. The others were waiting. As we climbed down the bus steps, I turned my head barely an inch to see my old Master with his raven hair sadly staring out the window.

“Bye, Ricky.” I murmured under my breath. The others quietly led me to their bus.

It was time for the seed of rage to sprout.

Hey, it's better than a SURPRISE DEATH! I mean, I was very tempted to kill off Mike, but hey, it didn't happen :)

Aw, I know dear! It was so much fun to write this story, but eventually, it had to end! Feel free to reread it if you wish...I know I will be rereading it! I'll have a new story up soon, but I'm going to focus on finishing up some of my other works in progress as well.
(Hint hint: Look for a story called The Miraculous Second Life of Blue Eyes...I think you'll enjoy it and I'll get the first chapter posted soon enough! :))

They're so cute! *Sigh* I just wish this wasn't over but I guess all good things must come to an end...I just wish it didn't have to be that way, I love this too much to let it go and tbh I doubt I will forget this anytime soon. <3
