Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light

Falling, It Was Rain, But, Having Fallen, It was Blood

Sunday at 4:11 A.M…

When I woke up, there was a harsh light’s glare over me and a dim hum of tires on the road. I rolled over and blinked away little dots scattered over my vision. I felt like my head was a pool of thoughts and a dark blur.

No, the tires couldn’t be moving….I was still in my driveway….

Last night’s events had come back to me, piece by piece. The star gazing, going out at midnight, the bus, Oliver….

“Oli?” I muttered groggily. The blinds were drawn over the windows, but I felt the bus rock as we drove along. Wait, driving!? No, this couldn’t be possible. My parents didn’t know I was here! I never told them. I never thought of it.

“Good, you’re awake.” His rough accent spoke through the darkness. I shivered a little.

“Oli, I need to get back home.” I spoke in a worry. A clock ticked on the opposite wall. Rubbing my heavy eyelids, I attempted to read the numbers. It was so blurry, so distorted. There was a man driving the bus, and the rest of the band just lounging around. I saw Lee here, Jordan’s arm was hanging out the side, and one of the Matt’s must be chilling in the back lounge. Oli was sitting next to me. I bolted up right to face him.

“Oh, there’s no need.” He smiled to me. I stared at him in shock. He sipped some coffee and flipped through a magazine.

“What….what do you mean?” I asked him. He turned one eye to me. I shrank back against the couch’s back.

“This is your home now.”

“Um, no, my home is back in Colorado.” I stated plainly. As much as I loved Oli and the band, he was going insane. He frowned. Lee raised an eyebrow in shock.

“It’s here now, darling. You’re ours.” He grinned, but I didn’t see happiness. I saw a controlling smile, one that dared me to argue. But being Orion Greening, I was unusually stubborn.

“No….” I drifted off, shaking my head. He rolled his eyes as if I was a dumb child.

“Rory, you’re ours now. You can forget the others.” He put down his coffee mug, standing up and going towards a cabinet.

“Oli, I’m not anyone’s!” I felt hot tears starting to prick my eyes. The fight or flight part of me was screaming for my body to attempt aerial escape through a window. His comments were making me breath heavier, causing my bad anxiety to flare up. I wasn’t anyone’s property! I never had and never wanted anyone to be in control over me! Even more so, I’ve never been in a relationship before!

Dark slits of dim light peered form behind the curtains, like a curious watcher. Lee deeply sighed.

“Oli, don’t collar her yet.” He sighed. Wait…COLLAR!?!?!

“No, Oli, please stop….” I drifted off, my voice getting caught in my throat as I stood up on wobbly legs. There was nowhere to run. We were all stuck together in a bus with no escape. The driver was sealed off from the rest of us. I saw Matty’s eyes peer through the back mirror to see what was going on.

Oli stood up, empty handed. I let out a little sigh of relief, but Lee still seemed pretty hesitant. He was reading some book that I didn’t know the name of. I started shaking badly, feeling cornered. Oli took a looming step towards me. I scrambled out of the way but he caught my arm. I leaned back, pulling away until his grip hurt. I knew there would be bruises tomorrow.

“Don’t fight and maybe you’ll see the next morning.” He growled to me. I swallowed a scream and nodded.

“Why won’t you let me go?” I choked back a sob. A single tear managed to escape.

“Because you’re valuable, darling. Everyone wants a pretty girl like you.” Jordan leaned out of his bunk and chuckled. I clenched my fist up and swung a hand at Oli. He dodged it, but let go of my other hand in defense. I rushed to a window. Ripping open a curtain, I saw the landscape around us.

It looked like we were in the middle of the highway through the mountains. I don’t care if we were going sixty through here-I needed to go.

I tore at the locks on the windows, the latches that bound me inside the vehicle. Before I could do much with my numb fingers, arms wrapped around my waist.

The man set my struggling body down on the couch, pinning one hand to my chest and another covering my mouth. I wriggled under him but he sat back on my legs. I felt the feeling escape and I was left with a painfully numb sensation.

“Shhh…don’t fight.” Lee whispered to me. His round face looked down at my gaunt features. I silently begged him to let me go. Matt Kean reappeared from the back.

“Is the girl fighting again?” Matt asked Oli. He ducked under the cupboard and reappeared with some metal object in his hand.

“Yeah. She’s strong.” Lee looked back to him. I twisted and turned underneath him, but couldn’t manage to bite or free myself. Soon enough, I was panting in submission after his knee dug into my thigh. Wincing, I fell still.

The cold metal object was fastened around my neck. Oh, so this was the collar that I couldn’t rip off.

“Now, who’s going to be a good Kitten for us?” Oli leaned closer to me. Lee’s hand was still over my mouth. I shrunk back in terror. His hand closed around the metal, just barely brushing my skin. He yanked on it until I felt the tears cascade down my cheek.

“Answer me.” He commanded. I just nodded, feeling my old life slip away as a collar and brute force started to creep into my new life.

I never wanted this.

I never wanted this pain and kidnapping.

I wanted my mom, my dad, my family back. I wanted my friends and my old house back. I wanted to sleep surrounded by loving lyrics. I wanted all this, not my new torture.

Lee’s hand let go of my mouth and I breathed heavily from the strain that left my body. Oli pulled me up and I stumbled as my feet were dead. He caught me and pulled me closer to him. I wanted to run, but was already afraid of the consequences.

“Oh come on, Kitten. You’ll love your new life.” He purred to me. I bit my lip to keep from making any more rash decisions. Instead, I nodded.

What else could I do?

Aw, I know dear! It was so much fun to write this story, but eventually, it had to end! Feel free to reread it if you wish...I know I will be rereading it! I'll have a new story up soon, but I'm going to focus on finishing up some of my other works in progress as well.
(Hint hint: Look for a story called The Miraculous Second Life of Blue Eyes...I think you'll enjoy it and I'll get the first chapter posted soon enough! :))

They're so cute! *Sigh* I just wish this wasn't over but I guess all good things must come to an end...I just wish it didn't have to be that way, I love this too much to let it go and tbh I doubt I will forget this anytime soon. <3
